Staff was verify defensive that began at checkin. They were complaining about damages created by guests. I expressed that was terrible and could not believe people would act that way and be destructive. Within the first hour we had questions and requested a few things for more comfort that was denied. We were fine with that. We were nice about everything. Next thing we knew maintenance showed up at the hot tub explaining a few things were for safety and again told us not to touch or mess with anything. Then looking around at the signs posted. They also stated not to touch or mess with settings. We made no threats or had any intention to. Maintenance showed up and was quite rude. As he walked away saying to quit harassing the front desk. We called once and was nice. The first hour of our stay we felt very un-welcomed. I have stayed at 5 other places at Lava Hot Springs. I would suggest another place.

Incredibly nice place. Cozy room with massive soaker tub. Did bot getvto try that myself but will be back. Close to Hot Springs,food and Lobby. Lady at the front who checked us in was Amazing!!!! Dont pass on this place, give it a shot and see how nice your stay will be.

The access was great for what we were doing. Nice room. The only thing I didn’t like is it was raining and the water dripping on the ac outside was very noisy and kept us awake.

The hotel is very close to the hot spring. The staff are very informative on what is available in the area. And the shower is plumbed with hot spring water.

This is a hotel we have stayed in for several years. We love the huge 2 person tub that you can fill to the brim with hot spring water. The biggest downfall is the beds are terrible. They are very hard, and we woke up sore both days. They also had very few amenities. They had soap, lotion, 4 plastic cups, a mini fridge , a hair dryer and a microwave. They could spend a little more time cleaning and moving the furniture around to vacuum.

Lava Hot Springs is an old town but quite quaint. Everything is walkable.

The hotel was clean and the bed was comfy. We liked that it was within walking distance from everything.

We have stayed her several times. The Home is a Lava Hot Springs staple, in a great location on the Main Street. Everything is walkable. The tub in our room was enormous and filled with the hot spring water so it was always hot.

Place was awesome for the price really clean and in a good location the staff was also very friendly and nice

Hotel was ok … it is aging and the walls are thin - can hear your neighbors- motel was full - had a couple with loud music playing right next to us into the early morning hours. People seem to not know what common courtesy is anymore. Won’t be going back.

Lava is one of our favorite places to just escape! The hotel lava was so nice and quiet and we loved the large tub in our room

The base rooms are along the road with no dedicated parking. So you'll either have to get lucky and get a spot on the street or park in their back lot in the roped off area which is a little inconvenient. The service was excellent and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful with food suggestions and any other inquiries we had. Charming place in a charming town!

The front desk and staff are all most cordial and polite. The bed and the bed linens were great but after that it is downhill.... We requested a room on a lower level and were given a very small and old room where the carpet was old and worn, the front door could not open fully as the door was warped due to humidity, the room is small, the bathroom the size of a walk in closet, crappy thin, cheap towels, a small shower where the shower head is located low (not good for anyone over 6ft tall) , the water in the sink tastes awful. These set of the rooms in the back need MAJOR upgrading and should not be charged at the same price as the Economy room's that are nicely updated. This is FALSE advertising at its best. The pictures on an economy room on the hotel and hotels.com website are misleading as they have 2 levels of economy room and they only show the picture of the updated ones. This room truly was old, crappy and the photos v v misleading!

Nice king room with oversize mineral bathtub.

We stayed in one of the motor court rooms, requested 2 queens, you probably have to do one king to stay in the smaller Hotel rooms. The 2 queen room was fairly spacious, but when you shoehorn a large tub into a small older bathroom with a toilet, it's hard to get in and close the door. Room was very clean and had nice linens, table with 2 chairs and a medium sized flat screen tv with cable. We specifically stayed at the Home Hotel for it's closeness to the Hot Springs and weren't disappointed. It's probably less than 300 feet from our door to the front door of the Lava Hot Springs. Remember to bring a towel from the room, and quarters for the lockers when you head to the springs. We really enjoyed the hotel, and will return.

We've stayed here before and had the same great experience each time. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean, comfortable room. We stayed in the deluxe patio room with our own hot spring-fed hot tub and loved it. This is our favorite place to stay in Lava.

I loved the large tub and access to the hot springs. The hotel is updated and was comfortable. The beds were comfortable enough but dated. Bikers parking and talking under my window was the hard part. All in all Lava is charming, Ive stayed in all the hotels and motels in town and this is a decent place.

Fun stay

Great location. Old but nice rooms. BUT- The hotel needs to invest in new door knobs and windows. The rooms are NOT secure. Old school keys and old door knobs do not work well. One of our rooms would not lock. Management instructed us how to switch rooms late at night. The other room had a window that was difficult to lock. And for most of our stay we had problems locking and unlocking our doors. Front desk people were helpful and kind and know about this issue. I’m only mentioning it in this review to put pressure on the owners to make their hotel rooms more secure and safe for their guests - especially since the hotel has outside rooms. I would love to stay here again bc it’s a quaint little place and right by the hot springs.

Door entry needs to be updated. Original motel key entry seemed unsafe: hard to manipulate key to open. Good decor, nice tub, but windows and doors need updating. Lovely staff.

Its probably the better hotel in the area. close to everything.
