What a great B&B to stay at, Especially if you like venerable historic restored homes with character and comfort! Upgraded plumbing, fixtures and HVAC provides flexibility in individual comfort preferences. The custom cooked to order breakfast very nice! Great Italian restaurant right next door for other meals. Only improvement would be a better grade of toilet paper instead of the "see-through" stuff on the roll.

Our stay was very good. The room was not as clean as I would have liked. There was stuff left in the mini fridge by another guest and there were spiderwebs on the lamps. The chairs were hard to sit on in the room as they had no hold on the cushion part of it. The breakfast was absolutely delicious. That was worth the stay!

Excellent stay, pet friendly, outstanding breakfast frittata, we will come back.

This house was excellent. The hospitality was incredible and the charm of the facility was everything that you would want to have in a bed and breakfast!

There was no one at the house to greet us. We were instructed to let ourselves into the house. The room was also not as described. It was advertised as having a private bathroom and shower. However, there was no bathroom attached to the room.

I was not given the key lock code to the main door prior to arriving. I stood outside in freezing cold temperatures for almost a half hour trying to get in touch with someone to obtain the code so I could enter the premises. The house was dusty and not kept up with. I was very disappointed with the breakfast given. It was one of the reasons I chose to stay there. Instead of a French gourmet breakfast as described on the website and in reviews, I was given a microwaveable meal. I actually heard her warm the food up in the microwave. I was very disappointed and would not recommend it to anyone. The only plus side was the location. It is close to many restaurants with great tasting food.

For a week, I left voicemails asking whether I could cancel or confirm my reservation with no response. We decided to show up, and we were greeted by a lady who said she wasn't an employee and "wasn't supposed to be here," but had been staying there for a week and knew the owner. This gave some discomfort until we heard from the owner. We made it clear we had driven many hours and just wanted to check in and eat and sleep; the inn restaurant was closed w/ no update to website and this other resident chatted about herself until we abruptly left to go out and find food. We found 1 appropriate place in town (one of us has dietary restriction) open for dinner w/ 3 min to order. In other circumstances, we may not have minded but we found check-in disorienting and stressful.
Otherwise, the owner and chef seemed very nice and the rooms were lovely, if cold. Nice area, quiet.

We were the only guests at the bed & breakfast for the first night we were there, and there was only one other guest the 2nd night. Due to Covid, they did self check-in with door codes. It was very quiet (as I said we were the only guests) and we only saw our hostess for breakfast each morning, which was DELICIOUS!!!! The restaurant that they're reknowned for was closed at this time. We stayed in one of the 2 upstairs rooms, with a private bathroom right outside our room. The bathroom was spacious, very clean, and great water pressure and temperature! The room was comfortable, the space heater worked great to heat our room. There was no way to use the fireplace due to it needing to be plugged in but no way to do so easily... There is a small TV in the room as well, and a small refrigerator. It was perfect for what we needed. We did some reading after we checked in and found out the Inn is haunted!!! That was a fun little bonus to learn.

Excellent hosts, beautiful vintage property. The best part was hanging out on the porch, on the rocking chair, drinking beer and enjoying a meal from Duffys!!

He was cold. There's no heating at night time. During the day, it's set to minimum. There is no way to use the hotel room to avoid being locked in your room, because there too, the low temperature does not allow you to enjoy space.
We had to buy some clothes-hangers, because there were very few in the rooms.

My husband has a problem walking and navigating the steps in the original part of the house was difficult for him.
The breakfast wasn’t until 9:00 which is very late. Because we had to leave before breakfast we were given a breakfast to go. That was appreciated.

Beautiful house and location. Clean and well cared for. Unfortunately, advertising is misleading. I booked the “Queen Cottage” and should have been concerned when I couldn’t find pictures of the room except for one of the top of the bed. Upon arrival, I learned that it is not a “cottage” - it is a small room at the top of steep stairs in the older section of the house above the kitchen. It fits a queen bed and smaller pieces of furniture at the foot of the bed and has one small wiindow overlooking the driveway. The original door - which is lovely - does not close flush against the frame so you can see into the room. The bathroom is outside the room, down the hall. Whereas it is a private area, it is uncomfortably small with smells of the days cooking (restaurant downstairs). The owners kindly accommodated me with a larger room - I was the only guest in the house - And charged me twice the rate. Not happy about that. Breakfast was very good and the owners were able to serve it earlier than 9:00 as I was traveling for work.

Interesting and lovely property full of charming details and antiques. Large rocking chair porch and indoor/outdoor dining for breakfast/brunch. Our room was in the original mudroom part of the house - a separate wing from the main house and was totally charming with a comfortable bed and all the essentials. Nice bathroom. The breakfast (that was part of the deal ) was truly outstanding with fresh baked scones, great coffee and delicious assorted egg dishes. Lovely staff. Been a long time since I was so wowed by staying in a hotel or B&B!

We found this place after cancelling our reservation at another hotel after one night. We have never stayed at a bed and breakfast before. We met the owner as we pulled in and he got us all set up in our room. We walked down to Copperfields Irish Pub. Great food. We had a dog with us so we ate out on the back patio. The bed was very comfortable. The whole house was very cool to just look at with all the old architecture. We ate breakfast outside at a nice table because we had our dog with us. Everyone we met was very nice. Larry, the owner, is a wealth of history knowledge and very enjoyable to talk to. The shower was in an old clawfoot bathtub, very nice. We walked our dog around the small town, very nice. This place was amazing, I can't say enough about it. For our first B & B, it was a hit all around. See pictures of our roon. Bathroom and breakfast menu. We had the fritatas on the first day. Very good, never had it before. The second morning I had the waffles with whipped cream and Strawberry compote. Awesome. Didn't get a picture of it. I took one bite and couldn't stop it was so good

Our stay at the Borland House was wonderful! The grounds and the house itself are just beautiful. Our room was pretty and very comfortable, the bed was very comfy, and the bedding was so luxurious. Terry robes were appreciated after showers, and there were plenty of towels. The bathroom was not in the room as I thought it would be, but there wasn't anyone else on our floor, so it was fine.
The breakfast (included in room rate) was really terrific, and the server (Jen) was great!
The town of Montgomery is lovely, lots of dining choices, several within walking distance of the property.
We would definitely recommend!

Small soap/shampoos. Please get a little larger size. Hardly enough for two people.
Staff was excellent.

This was an overnight stay to visit one of my wife's college friends. The building is phenomenal and the history of the home is very interesting. It is nicely decorated with period furniture everywhere.. The breakfast was great and our server shared additional historical information with us over coffee. The location is one block off the main street of the village of Montgomery so there are many restaurants within a five minute walk. We lived the stay there and would certainly stay there again.

It was back off the street, quiet. Had private parking. Friendly hosts. Clean. Updated bath. Nice breakfast. Our bedroom was very tiny. Bathroom was nice. The only issue was trying to carry our luggage up and down a very steep skinny stairs.

Loved our stay from check in to check out. The inn is located in a quiet street, with several excellent restaurants and little shops within walking distance. The room was large and beautifully decorated, with the most comfortable bed ever. We csme for a swim meet and had to leave every morning st 7, before breakfast, but were able to come back around 2 before the afternoon sessions to enjoy the brunch and s quick nap in the room. The brunch is outstanding, everything we tried - the frittata, chicken and waffles, strawberry shortcake - was excellent. My picky teenager enhaled it all.
The staff is very friendly and accommodating, even let us rest in the room after check in and before heading over to the pool. We’re already planning our next visit!

Nice B&B and great hostess. We were late coming down for breakfast and the host still provided us with a great breakfast. Looking forward to returning.

Very friendly staff, clean and big rooms. Only minor issue was that the bathroom was not en-suite to the bedroom I stayed in. No big deal. Overall, great place.

Beautiful Victorian house with breakfast/brunch, weekend dinners/bar and cooking classes. Tall ceilings and large room sizes with steam heat left our room decidedly chilly.

We stayed here while traveling up from NYC to do some hiking in the Catskills / Sawanagunks area. It was such a cute antique B&B that still provided the great level of comfort so that you could get a restful nights sleep and feel like you were on vacation. The hosts are extremely friendly and accommodating and make you feel right at home from the time that you step through the door. The breakfast is also divine - so many amazing fresh options to choose from. I would definitely recommend it to any friends and family.

Very comfortable. Quiet. Historic neighborhood. Breakfast excellent. Only problem was Roku TV & no one available to fix at night. But I enjoyed reading & taking a walk instead
