So convenient as close to airport, $15 for parking was a bit steep i thought. Need bigger towels :)

Fan in the pod is very noisy and annoying.
Noise created from frequent opening and closing the door as well as packing sounds resulted in a bad sleep.
Avoid booking pod if you want to have a good sleep.

It was adequate and probably good value for the money. Late arrivals would have kept everyone awake, but I did sleep eventually. Cleanliness was good.

Near to the airport

Overall, this was an incredible spot right near the airport -about a 15-20 min walk from the terminal if you have lots of luggage. There are staff there 24/7 which is super handy if you have any weird questions in the middle of the night, or get in at 1am like I did. The staff were all very lovely and helpful.
It's not close to Christchurch proper if you don't have a car, but it is close to a bus stop which is about a 20-30 min trip one-way. There are multiple food places nearby, as well as a Woolies/Countdown and a pharmacy.
The common spaces are honestly pretty cool, but maybe it was just the nature of the people I was there at the same time as - no one was particularly social, everyone either kept to themselves or only spoke to the people they had gone away with.
The pods are very interesting ideas and actually a surprising amount of space, but due to being all plastic they get quite hot and the fan/aircon is pretty weak despite its noise. The lockers are also fantastic inclusions but unfortunately beep really loudly when you are trying to open them! Both great in theory, but just be warned if you're a hot-sleeping night owl.
Showers were hot and bathrooms were decent. I have no real qualms there - just maybe an extra sink or two for the girls would be helpful, four didn't feel like enough for the amount of rooms in the place! Otherwise, I think it was a good hostel that served its purpose well, and I'm glad to see upgraded facilities for young travellers.

Very convenient for our early morning flight as we could walk to the airport. It wasn’t the quietest and in our opinion could use some deep cleaning. The self-checkin felt impersonal and the first room we went to wasn’t finished being cleaned but the lady got us another room that was fine.

It is so close to the airport, supermarket, restaurants and Antarctic Center you don't need a car

The distance to Christchurch Airport is approximately a 15-minute walk, highly recommended for travelers with red-eye flights. Both check-in and check-out are very convenient.

Lovely for an affordable, short stop. Being so close to the airport there were people coming and going at all hours but the pods were comfortable. Common room was clean, spacious, and well lit. Very easy to get to from the airport.

We are two of your older clients and perhaps need a little more help than younger people but i have to say that the Asian young lady who is off to Australia went out of her way to help us.

Stayed in a en-suite room for a night to catch an early morning flight. The window was open and the bed got some small bugs…

You get what you pay for....LyLo is very inexpensive, it's very close to the airport (easy walking distance), and the rooms very basic....and some are more like a hostel. But with a supermarket next door, lots of restaurants, bus lines, and a community kitchen and living room....it really met our needs.

Basic services meant for budget travelers or if you need to lie down for a few hours and not have to leave airport area. Pleasant helpful staff. Awesome location. Short walk to/from airport.

Upon arrival in our room, the bathroom was found to be very dirty. There was hair all over the floor and particularly in the shower. The sink was also dirty and no soap was provided. Of the towels provided, one had holes in it and the other was dirty. We asked for replacements and one of the replacements was also dirty. The bed sheets did not either appear clean. Uncleanliness was the overall theme of the accommodation.

Super cool hostel/hotel with private and shared rooms. Definitely recommend if looking for a place close to the airport that relatively cheap compared the other options!

The room was clean, sheets and bed comfy great for what you pay, plus, it's so easy to walk to the airport for early morning departures. However, the room had a slight smell, like feet... or mice... not sure which one! It may have been the carpet... such a small space with dedicated foot traffic (smelly socks and feet). A regular carpet clean would help with this.

The pods were cool. But way to hot, needs better AC in rooms. Bathrooms weren’t the cleanest.

It was a good stay at a good price.
People were mindful when sharing pods.
However, the mens bathroom was unclean at busy period during our stay.
It was stuffy at night at the pods in summer even with the fans on - recommended to leave windows open.
The accommodation is very convenient, close to the qirport and many food places.

good for backpackers or if you like to cook and dine in the shared area, not for convenience, very bare minimum cleanliness and accommodation in terms of space in the room (super tight), parking is not free

Checking in process is impressive. i’m also impressed the attentive staff came to check if i’m doing okay with the self-check in. Room is clean but wall is not soundproof at all. The hotel is close to the airport (approx 1km) so it’s convenient to catch an early flight. I walked from the hotel to the airport at 4am., took about 20 mins.

Located next to some sort of yard where lorrys and people making a lot of noise early in the morning.

My mattress was sorely in need of a replacement. The springs bottomed out so easily that I was hitting the plywood frame below when lying down and I am a light person. Made for a difficult night of sleep. That said, great common room. This is just beside the airport and there’s not much here or accessible if you don’t have a car.

This was the perfect spot for us to stay the night before we flew out. It could have been a little cleaner but we were thankful for the rood over our heads! Also the common area is second to none - very cool!

I love Christchurch and Lylo is a wonderful option for a place to stay. It is very close to the airport and buses, The capsules are fantastic. Comfortable, clean and an excellent alternative to the “bunk bed” dorms.

Lylo sounds like a great company. However, Expedia proceeded to book me the wrong dates and failed to change it.
