The hotel had a different concept than anything I had ever seen. It had a common entrance for a Hilton Garden Inn and a Home 2 Suites. They had separate check in stands. The Home 2 Suites had one of the roomiest facilities that I had ever stayed in. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. They also had a complimentary breakfast. I will definitely consider staying at Home 2 Suites on any of my future travels.

Stay was for family member having procedure at UAB. Hotel was clean and most staff was polite. Very disappointing that on site restaurant was closed during stay, as that was one of the reasons hotel was chosen. Also lady at breakfast was rude to many guests on multiple days. Not a good spokesperson for hotel

The experience was great. Clean, efficient, friendly, comfortable. The traffic after 11:00 p.m. was annoying and lasted for hours and no one seemed to try to stop the loud vehicles circling the block. Noisy neighbors but that's to be expected at times. No different than other hotel experiences. The food was great! Friendly hosts/hostesses! Room was great with a frig, microwave, kitchen accessories and it was large enough for the kids to have space to play.

Front desk was super nice and helpful. The room was ok, we had a suite it was roomy. The bed was like bricks, laying on your side hurt. They only had 2pillows on the bed I called front desk and asked for 2 more she said they are out. It just was not a comfortable stay especially for $228 it was not worth it. I will never be back. You also hear stufff alnight

Don’t give them a credit card for incidentals. They will charge your room to it again and claim they didn’t.

Great stay the front desk team was very nice

Came into town for surgery. Great location to food and St. Vincent’s. Hotel was clean and nice with a great breakfast. Little bit off outside noise but didn’t bother us one bit.

The room was booked for a Galentines ( Valentine get together with gals only) celebration me and 4 friends. We had our room set up so nice and then we loss power to the whole room! Maintenance came quickly but could not get the breaker box open . They switched our room but it was so inconvenient because of the fact that we had to pack everything back up including food and decorations and move to the other room! No discount for the inconvenience was given or offered .

This hotel is adjacent to the Hilton Garden Inn. They share social areas, lobby and elevators.
The Home2Suites rooms are spacious, rather basic and decor is old and dated but you have a sink, refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker.
There’s more housekeeping staff than I’ve seen at other hotels these days. Bedding and towels are clean but other areas of the room are overlooked. Wash every glass or utensil before you use it. I wish that being a property mostly used by people going back and forth the hospital the hotel would offer a higher standard or sanitation.
Toiletries are very basic. Shampoo and Shower Gel dispensers were broken and falling apart.
Breakfast is included with your stay.
The restaurant’s menu is limited but will do if you’re in need of a meal onsite. There’s a Tazikis Restaurant across the street that has very good food at the same prices as hotel plus several other food options at walking distance.
The area is safe to walk around during the day but as soon as it gets dark is super sketchy. You have to be very careful walking the streets after dark even if it’s 5:30 pm.
Overall the hotel is very convenient to the hospital and lower priced than the Hilton that connects directly to the UAB building.

I didn’t stay. Downtown Birmingham didn’t feel safe to me with having to walk my dog at night. I went to Cullman instead

Convenient but had some rough edges. There was obvious water damage in the bathroom around the tub, there was a seat in the shower that made it to where you couldn’t lean back if you were sitting in the tub and someone previous to us had obviously had an anniversary or party bc there were fake rose petals still under the bed and couch cushions . Kids loved the sleeper sofa and the curtain partition. Also- it says parking included but it’s definitely an extra charge.

Our first time visiting Alabama and it was a pleasant stay at Home2 Suites.

Had a Dr appointment at UAB. I’m still amazed at how clean our room was. Room was spacious, WiFi great, felt safe at this location. Breakfast typical of most hotels, milk stored in a refrigerator. First time seeing, normally in pitcher on the counter. Nice having an on-site resturant. This will be our future hotel for yearly UAB appointments.

ONCE I ARRIVED. THE FRONT DESK STAFF WAS VERY FRIENDLY, AND THE SITTING AREA WAS CLEAN. PRIOR TO CHECKING IN THE ROOM. ONLY, THING I CAN SAY WAS THE ROOM WAS SET UP BEAUTIFUL. WHOM EVERY CAME UP WITH THE DESIGN OF THE ROOM'S DID A EXECELLENT JOB. THE ONLY PROBLEM WAS THE PILLOW WAS TO FLAT AND MAYBE THE MATTRESS NEED TO BE A LITTLE BIT MORE COMFORTABLE. BUT, AS FAR AS EVERYTHING ELSE I WILL BOOK AGAIN.

I realized that I had booked my stay on the wrong date and tried to call the property to adjust the reservation. After two calls and 5 minutes of the phone ringing, someone answered and told me that Expedia would have to help me since I booked through them. I got Chat support from Expedia and the rep had the same problem with the hotel and was not able to get through. Forget about the loss of money - I will not stay in a hotel that does not even both to answer the phone. I can't image what the service and experience would be like in such a place, not to mention the potential safety issues.

Room was great and breakfast decent. While listed I was still caught off guard by the $15 parking. Minor issue but the TV was on the fritz and super “blue”. Would still stay here again and was decent for our family.

Hotel was overall comfortable but had some ousekeeping issue.
If you are not doing full housekeeping but need few items like additional soap or toiletpaper. I needed to hunt housekeeping person on any floor and get it from them cause the team does not answer phone and frontdesk does not give any help other then saying you need to talk with Housekeeping department unless they have the item handy.

First thing youre going to notice is the gang graffiti right across the street from the front entrance. In the interior of the building was decorated and gave the impression it was real nice. The front desk staff were courteous and informative. We were informed there was an on-site restaurant that's open until 10pm and that a contential breakfast is served from 6am-10am.
Once we received our room key, we parked in the hotel designated parking, which is $15 per night and can only be assessed with a room key. We then grabbed our items and went to our room. First impression is that it was really nice and spacious. It was apparent that the housekeeper did a poor job of ensuring the bathroom was fully cleaned. There was hair from the previous tenant in the shower and black mold under the shower shelves. We did our best to clean this up and then exited our room to try and get a bite to eat at the onsite restaurant. It was around 9:30pm when we made it there and the restaurant was fully closed. One of the employees at the restaurant even made the comment, "Yup, that's why we need to hurry and clean since someone always shows up around this time".
Discovered room service didn't refill the installed soap dispensers. This is where the real issues came about. We could not sleep with the constant dripping shower, cars revving their engines all night, and all the yelling. We woke up from a sleepless night and discovered again staff tried to close the breakfast bar early. Ridiculous.

The suites aren’t really suites, but they do have all the things to check the list: kitchenette, loveseat, two beds. Everything is in one long room, like a bowling alley. The one tv is in front of the loveseat, so you can’t watch tv from either bed, but you can hear it from every bed. There’s a useless curtain to draw between the loveseat and the beds, kind of like a hospital curtain but it doesn’t go around any areas, just down one side to the bottom of the bed. It did have nice a blackout shade. The beds were comfortable. The hallways were hot and muggy, but clean.

Very clean. Room was well set up. The staff was helpful and friendly. Jeremy at the front desk went the extra mile. Recognized I was tired after a long ride and having run a marathon the day prior. Was very considerate and helpful and always with a smile.

Excellent experience. The only critique we have is that the beds were not very comfortable.

Over all our stay was good! The tv wasn’t working correctly and the bed was not comfortable at all. We did like the location, and the food near the hotel.

I didnt get his name but the gentleman at the front desk was really efficient and kind. He made my daughter and granddaughter feel really welcome. We were there because of its close proximity to Children's Hospital.
