Not the best place to stay, i would expect parking to be included in the price, we only used it for one night, would not stay there for a week.

No hand towel or bath mats. Lights that didn’t work. Had to check in via phone (at 3pm) and then struggle to find out badly signposted room. We then got our door knocked on rudely telling us to check out (while we were packing about to leave)

We found this property as a last minute booking. It was a great price for two rooms considering, as well as noting it was New Year’s eve and so close to town.
The room was fine, very basic and suited to our needs as we were there to experience the city not the room. The beds were ok, likely quite old as they were sunken in the centre.
Unfortunately the bathroom was not great. I used the cleaning sponge provided in the kitchen to scour the bath, walls and shower door before letting my family use it. Obviously I threw out the sponge after I’d finished!
Would stay again if there were no other options, but I’d definitely be taking my Jif and cleaning cloths if so.

Super convenient location. It had everything we needed, the kitchennette had pots, pans, cups & cutlery. The room was a bit dark but the beds were comfortable and staff were accommodating. The window detailing was amazing.

I book the budget room because it shows some nice and flash photos but when we arrive it was just like living in a cube, was too hot there and no wifi connection, so i ring the reception and notify the problem, good thing is they update my room.
Can say the upgraded room was way better then the old one but then their Spa wasn’t working and the shi*t thing is they have no fan and air conditioner (AC) in the room specially, because it was too hot i have to leave the window and door open to let some air in the room. The windows got no security lock, so anyone can put their hand through to open the door and help themselves. It was like what the hell ?? They didn’t mention about parking charges while i was booking (which was only $15 per night) but then i have to give my card details to them so they can deduct the money which I think is very insecure. The check-in was at 2pm but no one was present at reception and it was even closed. I have no clue what to do 😏. Finally find their number and get some help.
The only good thing about this place it is very close to the city and everything is just around the corner.

To much money for NOT Clean Room...Furniture is damaged , broken. Its like You find all that staff on the street.

This property is horrific. One room the floor was on a lean and felt like it was going to fall down, the other room was elegant about 10 years ago when I last stayed, but furniture all over the place, TV didn't work, wifi didn't work, power points half worked, windows smashed. Btbh under current management it should be demolished

A visit from the Hotel Inspector would probably see this shut! I did not use the shower due to mould, someone’s hair residues. Bed had no underblanket or anything beneath sheet & mattress was stained, pretty sure sheets & pillowcases hadn’t bn changed, the room needed a thorough vacuum & over all clean. TV did not work wld not connect to network. I would not recommend this as a place to stay despite its great proximity. If it was 100$ cheaper - is closer to what they shld be charging. Pretty shameful overall.

The room was filthy! Everything was dirty. I can send you photos! They hadn’t even cleaned up the trash; there was paper and candy wrappers on the shelf. We were there about 15 minutes and then left in disgust! No one works in the evening so we couldn’t complain to anyone on site.
I have complained to Expedia and Harswell Lodge through message/email. You haven’t heard the last of this from me. I am expecting a full refund.
I think that the owner is posting different photos than what he is renting. I suggest you look at other complaints. You should be ashamed to be letting the owner use your site. I will be sure to tell others about this and I won’t be using Expedia again.

The place is incredibly filthy, dirty,poorly kept and maintained: broken furniture and walls; we actually had to fix the headboard to stop it from falling on us.
There are massive gaps in the windows so that we could hear all the street noise and felt as we were outside; dirty dishes, disgusting carpert, no cutlery available in the room.
No staff available even at reception so you won’t be able to raise any concerns.
We booked for two nights but actually left after the first night for a different accommodation as we felt completely unsafe and sick from that place.

Would give zero stars if I could. Weird check in experience. Room was filthy, no toilet paper or soap, door to the balcony didn’t close which was noisy and unsafe. I ended up leaving after a couple of hours as there was no way I was staying the night. Avoid at all costs.

No front desk attendant the whole two days, no service outside of a single cleaner who knew very little to be able to assist. Room was not ready at nearly 3pm when arrived. Place is run down, dirty, facilities next to unusual events, shared kitchen filthy with nothing useable, tv not able to use due to no signal for both days.
Booking indicated parking available only to find out a threat of the vehicle being towed if we did not pay an additional $15 per night for parking space.
Entire place is more like a poor hostel than a motel and would not recommend anyone be taken in by the total lack of care for customer service this place offers.

Close to function venues. Disappointed to be charged for car parking, add $15 per night. A piece of carpet was glued in place and was lifting and in the worst possible place, a trip hazard.

Very confused check in process - despite arriving before 4pm there was no one there,. Our key was hidden in a separate compartment at the back of the box, which we didn't find til after 7pm. Very unsatisfactory. The lodge itself is lovely with pleasant rooms and is in a great location, but it's evident it's being run down. Lots of broken things in room (toilet cistern, beside lights, extract fan), unable to access the wifi. Such a pity that what was a lovely hotel is being run into the ground.

It was extremely noisy from other people. Very difficult to sleep. It was very hot, even though it wasn't outside. Could have done with a fan.

He were staying one night, the bathroom was disgusting you can smell pissed. We were in the bottom room and the whole night we couldn’t sleep we can hear the squeaking floor from the top room😭waste my money

Room 4 the soap dispenser on the wrong side of the basin (cannot reach it from the shower). Also hard to fill the electric jug from the basin tap. Otherwise all good

The tv how ever wasnt working neither was the Netflix. That was very disappointing. But the place is good.

It’s cheap accomodation so doesn’t have any frills. The cleaning tea are very helpful - but the rest of the service was a bit average.
Note - the advert says sky TV, but there is none.
Also - you can hear the base from nearby nightclubs all night

DON'T BOOK HERE, SERIOUSLY. It is the most dirty, poorly run accommodation I have ever stayed in. No one at reception, then when someone came it was the cleaner. (who was nice) We arrived at 4pm & our rooms were still not cleaned. The carpet felt sticky/dirty (so we wore socks), the smell - ohhhhh, the shower had mold growing in places, blinds pullers were broken, walls dirty, spider webs, TV didn't work, Wifi not existent. I don't think the place had a decent clean for ever. Needing tidying around the garden as well & a good water spraying to spruce the place up. OWNERS HAVE SOME PRIDE IN THE PLACE, I WOULD NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN.

A cheap place in a great location, nut you get what you pay for. My wife calls it 'the dungeon'. No one at reception so had to phone a lady and then wait 15mins for a cleaner to come and pass me the key. We were in one of the 'motel rooms' so it wasn't too bad. The rooms in the actual large building are pretty grim. You literally have people's legs and ankles parading past your window (it's almost underground) and you have to drink out of smurf cups.Mind you, it's affordable and in a BRILLIANT location so you choose what's important to you.

The rooms we got (rooms 4 and 5) were extremely small and run down (looked like a storage space for long forgotten items, dirty stains and holes on walls) - not what was advertised on-line (the pictures on line were of spacious and nice rooms). We found this was very misleading and unfair.

Reception closed went we arrived at 3:00 pm. Cleaner left to deal with customers. Room not ready. At least two customers asked for money back and moved to other accommodation. One customer very angry and took it out on cleaners. She shouldn’t have been put in that situation. Not her fault. Cleaners didn’t finish our room until 4:00 pm. Had others to do after that. Dirty windows and shower. Someone had drawn a happy face in the dust in windows.

Arrived well after check in time to find room not ready, not cleaned, was dirty. Also people loitering around outside the room with one person casing the cars that were parked there. Staff on duty did not know anything and were not helpful. The property looked generally uncared for and run down.
We did not stay and cancelled our booking, requesting a refund

I was disappointed to discover that the main photo used on Wotif for this lodge motel is not related at all to the actual building except that it is in close vicinity. The staff is friendly but lacked organisational efficiency. I booked this motel to have parking included near our room. One night we couldn’t fit in and had to park on the street but then had to move it before 8am.

There was no one in reception on arrival and no details on how to get it. There were several groups of us all in the same position. Finally got through on the phone and a cleaner gave us the key.
The room was very dirty and although we had clean towels the sheets were NOT clean.
The saving factor of this property is its location - a bit of TLC would make it somewhere you would return to.
