Size of room was fine but lacked clothes storage and quite plain with small bathroom area. Hot bath/spa area was nice with an inside and outside bath. Location was good, can walk everywhere from there. Breakfast buffet was good food, just a bit cramped and busy, you come straight out of lift into the buffet.

This is a great option for Takayama area. There’s four private onsens that you don’t book, they are first come first serve. We used them 3 times, and only once did we have to wait about 15 mins. The staff is so friendly, and the room/ hotel was clean! Good location, it’s not far at all from the busy food/ shopping streets in Takayama and still in a very quiet area!

Not happy with the following: Our room 212 had a dump smell coming from the bathroom drain. Staff not friendly - on reception we were given town map in Japanese but the English version was available. On positive side - breakfast had reasonable choice but not enough tables and some people had to go to eat in the lobby.

We are very disappointed with Hotels.com. Hotels.com is supposedly to give us best price guarantee but we found the price of the hotel to be almost one third the price we paid when we checked in. When questioned, no amendments were made.

This hotel offers a lot of things. It even has a nice grand piano that we can play! The onsen is very nice and very few people use it.

Nice hotel to stay in Takayama. New and clean hotel with welcome drinks. And it comes with FREE onsen facility with public and private onsen. This is the main attraction of this hotel. Location wise is also good

The room was left in an immaculate way when we arrived. Fresh towels, blankets and an assortment of products we could use to bath ourselves with. Would recommend!

Enjoyed the onsen facilities (remember to budget for onsen tax on arrival), the room was comfortable and the breakfast was mediocre but plenty of it. Easy walk from the station and into old town.

Price was reasonable , hotel room is neat, clean and spacious. Quite near amenities, like supermarket and JR station. Staff were polite and pleasant Breakfast is excellent and value for money

We enjoyed our stay a lot here! The staff are very nice and the hot spring was excellent! The facilities are so sufficient and the room is very clean. Since we drive, we didn't spend a lot time to explore the surroundings. But it is within 20 mins ride to morning markets and other sightseeing spots! Highly recommended! We would stay here again if we visit Hida again (:

We were pleasantly surprised by how well kept and modern and spacious this hotel is! The only gripe we had was the laundry dryer which didn’t work well at all and we ended up driving to a nearby coin laundry to do our laundry

Good location, good hotel, the room very amply, wc separated from shower and sink, no noise at all, we stayed 2 nights, courtesy drink the first night, breakfast included was great a lot of food to chose and very tasty, we decided to not clean the bedroom the second day and when we got back from our tours we found a bag with towels, water, amenities and a note to pick up at the reception a free gift, very nice idea, was raining and they even gave us umbrellas, there was a stand with shared umbrellas. Close to the old city. Very recommended. We will be back

The thermal baths on the 7th floor are excellent. I loved it that they provide pyjamas that can be worn everywhere in the hotel, not just to go to the baths. The staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is away from most of the action but it is a small town and one can go everywhere on foot.

This is an average - good hotel regarding rooms and service. Parking is adjacent which is a positive thing. The biggest disappointment is breakfast. A small and stuffy breakfast room in the lobby lodge. There is not enough place and a very little variety. Location is fair on the fringe of touristic area close to everything. You can go but do not count on their breakfast (there is a small caffe with a charming owner near by for cofee and a sandwich)

It’s just less than 8 minutes walking from Takayama train and bus station to Shirakawago. Breakfast buffet is awesome. Lots of variety of food and drinks. Outdoor and indoor Onsens and sauna at the hotel are beautiful and relaxing. Free popsicle after bathing is so nice. Free roasted marshmallows in the evening is a blast for my daughters! The hotel provides free luggage storage before check in and after check out if needed. Thank you Watt Hotel and Spa for your exceptional service!

Hotel is quite close to the Takayama station, and other sight-seeing spots. We used the private onsen and they were clean, and good. There’s a nice place for sitting up on the rooftop and the view is gorgeous! Room is clean, comfortable and spacious (surprise!) There were many tourists from group tours staying at the hotel when we were there and it got quite noisy.

The hotel is clean and has all the facilities needed but not too big and overwhelming. Service good and friendly you can leave bags before check in or after on day check out if needed. Only 10min walk to the train station. There is a male and female separate onsen as well as 4 private which couples or families can use first come first served. Ice lollies available to cool down. Laundry and dryers on same floor all on 7th floor so have outdoor bathing for onsens and outdoor bar area. Comfortable room with everything you could need.
