Overall really Disappointed. The pictures and price make it look far grander that the reality.
The bad: The air con just rotated warm air around, needed to open window (in spring) to views of a rusty old huge industrial plant. If you have booked - request a water view - however reception said this wasn't any better. No communal area or seating and no facilities (gym/spa/pool etc).
The good:
Location is excellent for USJ and the breakfast is amazing.

We loved the convenience of this hotel.
My husband found a hair on his pillow the first night and that made us more skeptical the rest of the time. Other than that, it was great.

The hotel is the best location for universal studio. Its has 5 convenience store and a various restaurants.

We unfortunately dealt with racism. We watched the female front desk staff check in several Japanese guest but when I approached asking if I could be checked in as well I was told I would have to wait until checkin. There was a really kind gentleman working the front desk who told the female front desk staff that he was going to check us in anyway about twenty minutes before check in. I truly want to thank him because I was literally on the verge of tears after watching over eight Japanese families be checked in and go to their rooms. After this we didn’t have any more issues but it is just heartbreaking dealing with such obvious racism. I am rating one star based on the racism alone.

Perfect location when visitng USJ as the hotel is right on the city walk. The train station is right next to the hotel so it’s easy to get around. Several food options and stores for shopping. The area is safe and secure. Hotel staff are friendly, resourceful, helpful, and very accomodating. Excellent service - Will definitely stay here again.

Great for families who are going to USJ for a short stay. The breakfast buffet was good though they served the same menu daily. The room is not big but cosy enough for 4 pax. It is just located beside the train station and a few minutes to USJ. There are many food options at this area.

Location was good and the hotel is pretty new. However, the lobby can get abit noisy and crowded as they cater for student groups. Fewer staff at the lobby as they use more auto check in , checkout

What hotel has no a/c, staying in a hot room and all they give you is a fan to fix it, this is a sorry excuse for a hotel, don't stay there not worth the money!!!!!!

Great location, nice lobby but awful check in. The automated system is terrible for a foreigner to use and the process over complicated and time consuming. Room very small but ok. AC only had low, medium and high setting. None seemed to cool the room.

Great hotel very close to the Ed ntrance of universal studios and surrounded by restaurants. Very close to train station. Breakfast is great- with a wall of donuts if you like donuts…. Room was big. Bed and pillows slightly hard.

The only good thing about this hotel was the fact that it is in the city walk of universal. One of the worst hotels i have stayed in. Bathroom was tiny, junky, and dirty. Shower curtain had pink mold on it and there was stuff not cleaned from previous hotel person.

Very convenient for USJ. No amenities other than breakfast. A very nice place to sleep, have breakfast, and be in air conditioning. It was 99F when we were there. Just outside is Universal Citywalk. Lots of restaurants and shops. 2 minute walk to USJ entrance.

This hotel is so easy to find and walk to from the station as well as Universal Studio. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean and great to relax in. All in all, a very enjoyable stay!

The location is good, very close to USJ. T check in procedure was quite trouble to the guest which need to input everything but there were more than enough staffs at front desk.

Location is accessible to train station and 2 mins.walk to universal studio..Rooms is very clean..Complete amenities you don't have to worry if you forgot toothbrush,comb, razor etc..Recommended for family traveller..

This was our first trip to Osaka. I can't express enough how much we LOVED our stay at the Oriental Hotel, University City. Everything about it was AMAZING. The check-in services, all the staff at front desk, buffet breakfast line, and even the house keeping members were great. Even when I requested for late check out, the staff were kind and assisting. The rooms were nice, clean and comfortable.
The location of the hotel was great too. Walking distance to Universal Studio, shops, restaurants, train station, everything.
My family and I will definitely return to this hotel when we visit Osaka again. Much Mahalo Vina

We did not like the self check-in. It was slow, particularly when checking in a family of 5. It is much quicker when carried out by staff as in other hotels we stayed at during our holiday.
We did like that the hotel was conveniently located to Universal Studios, a number of restaurants and the train station.
