Nice staff, poor facilities and noisy from the other guest

You don't get much for the money. Two bathrooms and one shower... no luxury (no towels or duvets etc). Super small social area

Very satisfied

Location was very good as it is in the city centre. Very accessible and very accommodating host.

Other guest that doesn't take consideration that this is a shared bathroom facilities.

Very poor

The place is not named as ice hostel but as Guesthouse Vikingur. Room was very small, bedsheets were not clean and the pillows and blankets were not included in the price and costed extra 80€ per one night two persons.

Nice place to stay, close to central part of the city of Reykjavik

I visited Iceland for the first time: beautiful country, awesome city. But that' s true : hotels and guest houses are pretty much expensive compared to other European countries. Lack of hotels due to the fast growth of toursim. At this hostel, I would call it guest house as well as they have rooms for 1-2 persons. It was a good price for the moment, they are well located, 15 min walk from central part of Reykjavik, close to everything you would need. Shared WC and cabines shower are super clean. I had a small room #2, upstairs, nice and comfortable. Bed 10/10. Only thing I would suggest : roller shades curtain / roll down blinds to get installed in a room for ceiling window. As in July there is no nights actually. Its very interesting and amazing, but if you re not used to that it's a bit hard to fall asleep. By 6AM it's very sunny ;-) Tried to fixe through the window my towel to get a bit darkness ;-) They have coffee machine, or for tea, and fridge if you have some products to keep in fridge. Very convenient. Nice staff.

all was good. If I can get back, I will check if they have availabilities.

Exceptional

Quiet location but easy to get to shops and sights. Simple but very clean room. Ver friendly and helpful hostess Mas. Really welcoming and relaxed atmosphere.

Comfortable enough and quiet, but terribly labelled and poor communication

The location was fine and the bed was comfy. The place was also surprisingly quiet, which was really nice! Once we got ahold of staff, they were very friendly and helpful.

The place is terribly labelled - the only signs outside are for car rental and the Viking Guesthouse. Plus, there were no staff at all onsite despite us arriving at a reasonable time, so we had a very difficult time knowing that we were even at the right place, let alone how to find our room. Ask for the street address when you make your reservation. The communication before making a reservation that there were no linens or towels was very poor (I know this is common at hostels, but it should at least be visibly stated), and it turned out that even meant no paper towels in the bathroom. The bathroom light was out so it was dark in there. Limited shower facilities.

Would not recommend. You can get a nice hotel room or bnb for the same price.

Location was good.

Extremely overpriced. We paid $160 for a room for 4 people, and they wanted to charge us an extra $50 for blankets, pillows, and towels. The hostel host passed out drunk in the common area.

Great value

The hostel is a great value - as everything is really expensive in Iceland finding the affordable option is a challenge - and this hostel is an affordable option. Besides, the owners are very nice people which offer support with all the needs guest has. Besides, some options are not even mentioned here on Booking.com but actually available at the hostel - e.g. free wifi, dining area with a kettle, other small but nice things.

Well, if you adjust expectations to what you are requesting - all is good and even better than expected.

Superb

Nice rooms, beds and bedding!

The water was sulfur geothermal so it was clean and hot, but came with the distinct sulfur smell.

prices in centrum are usually cheaper and more things are offered. Price was definitely a bit to high when compared to other hostels
