About this house rental

Nestled in Fairland, this charming house for R 7,292 per night is a great option for your next trip. Country living on ~ 2 acre lot in a house that is not only spacious but very much a home, with a pool (Jun-Aug), and many amenities: simply terrific for a family that enjoys indoors and outdoors. Located 16 miles from the White House, 30 minutes from Baltimore, and 25 miles to Tyson's Corner in Virginia. Entertaining is fine but no raucous parties, please. House, in fact, is well suited for entertaining and enjoying friends and family get-togethers. BUT, local regulations need to be adhered to. Montgomery County requirements are that only 6 adults (plus children under age of 18) staying overnight can be present on the property during the booking period. Technically, if you’ve specified 3 as total number of guests, then only those 3 are authorized to be on the property. 6 is the maximum number of adults allowed to stay overnight and, consequently, only they are allowed on the property (apart from owner and/or owner authorized individuals. This regulation is to help avoid large gatherings that can turn unruly and disruptive to neighbors. The County also requires us to log names of all authorized persons during the stay. Need particulars (name and contact info) for the entire party, not just the one booking. If you have any questions or concerns, please convey to me via messaging or phone (if already booked). My number is visible on site once booked. Outdoor pool is open from Memorial Day (last Monday in May) through Labor Day (first Monday in September).

We visited for Thanksgiving. There is ample room to be by oneself, as well as interact with the group. The kitchen is large and works well for mulitple people helping to cook. We did have some trouble with the lights. While the switches are labeled it wasn't always easy to find the switch for the light one was looking for.

House is very large lots of room to spread out. The pool is amazing. House needs a lot of renovations. The basement is under some sort of renovation and is blocked off from the stairs in the foyer area, but there is a door that leads to the basement in the kitchen and has access. Paint is badly needed in many rooms and there are a lot of broken tiles in the kitchen. The deck is in need of repair and is unusable. We were afraid to even walk out there. The yard is beautiful but there are two large sunken in areas with wood covering them, not sure what this is and the yard is fenced in to a point but there are many opening and you can not let your dogs free. With all of these small things our stay was really amazing. Very close to everything. The pool and sunroom are the highlights of the house. We enjoyed our 5 night stay. House is comfortable.

Lovely large rooms large kitchen, many sitting areas comfortable couches. Great communication with owner. master bed for some reason slouchs on one side, master bedroom door needs painting deck should not be used as many splinters and planks loose, as well as banister is dangerously loose. You can get to the pool through the kitchen door, that is a better option. Perfect for families who are in the area and number more than four. The kitchen could do with more glasses and more plates. Also, the pool is very nice. Our kids used it but I would not get in as it doesn’t have a rotary cleaner so there’s lots of dirt and debris in the pool. Overall good for family gatherings but don’t expect any extras.

this house has 3 beautiful, comfortable bedrooms with 2 bathrooms upstairs and 1 in finished lower level. the upstairs which is all on ground level has 2 large livingrooms, dining area, large kitchen and 3 bedrooms. it was very nice to be all on one level as 1 adult had health issues. We saw a fox and deer in the large yard. We brought our dog with us and there is a wonderful neighborhood for walking. We went to Fairland park wich is within 15 min. -great for hiking and biking! The house needed some minor repairs but the host said he is working on this.

The property had some minor issues but Babar was a wonderful host. I think the main allure is the pool which we did not use because of the timing of our stay, but he was a very attentive host!

The accommodations are very spacious. The property owner was very personable and responded quickly when contacted with questions. We had a major issue with the heating system for the first two and a half days we were in the property. The temperature was the coldest that it had been in many years. We were not able to sleep in the master bedroom because it was too cold. A repairman came out on our 3rd day there. We were told the heating system should have been bled in the fall to remove the excess air. It had not been done until that day. Once this was done the heater was fixed. Although the heater was fixed, the master bedroom/bathroom remained too cold. This was mainly because of the age of the windows and there were no curtains just venation blinds on all the windows in the house. Welcome Book: The Welcome Book had good information but some important information was missing. 1) The garbage collection information in the book was outdated. 2) No information that the washer was located in the basement. This information was also missing from the VRBO website. 3) Information on the working of the electronic door locks (front and back) was missing from the book. During our stay in the property, we encountered some unsafe occurrences. 1) There was black ice on the property when we arrived due to the dropping temperatures and earlier rain. The property owner informed us that his son had sprinkled salt on the driveway. There was no salt on the walkway or steps to the two entrances. There was no salt left for us to use. 2) The rug inside the property near the front door has a corner of the rug curled up. Tripping/falling hazard. 3) Piano bench in living room is very unsteady. 4) The floor between the living room and dining room near the piano has the raised head of a screw or nail stick up. There are others in other parts of the house on the main floor as well. 5) The handrail leading to the basement is no longer tightly secured to the wall. 6) The screen door at the back door has busted screen on the top and bottom. Also, the door slams really hard when entering and exiting the house.
