Squatters Want to Stay. If you say No. They will just come back and sneak in!!!!

Location

I was not happy when I had to wait 4 hours to check in, and when. We arrived there were squatters in the home who made us feel very uncomfortable while waiting for the property managers to return our call. They Said the people should t be there and we had to tell them to leave and when we did. They had to load a whole truck full of cat piss smelling belongings from their living room camp. The lady had clogged the toilet with human feces and broke the toilet. As we were under threat of hurricane weather, we had decided to stay with the understanding that we would be refunded the 300 dollars in fees. The lady left the home but still knew the access codes to the entrances of the home, I wondered how she got it initially. Later that night, I began hearing people talking in a hushed tone. It sounded like the very rude couple that we had met initially. They were in a locked area in the back of the home. I understand that they have no where to go, but I paid for my stay, and to have intruders hiding in the home was unnerving and very upsetting, I banged on locked door and insisted that they had 5 minutes to vacate while I called Vacasa. The doors opened and shut, and the motion lights outside came on. I called management, and they were very disorganized in helping g me with this situation. I was then told they would refund the stay completely, as by now, our clothes smelled like the nasty cat urine that we had to spend most of the first night cleaning. I have reached out to them several times with no response regarding our refund. They, in fact, charged the full amount of 723 USD. We feel disrespected and lied to at this point and will continue to pursue a full refund
