About this condo rental
Let your worries wash away with the tides and feel your heart soar at the Pelican Pad. It's the best of both worlds--a 3rd floor unit with a gorgeous ocean view PLUS the only building at Topsail Dunes with an elevator to save your backs as you load in and out! This is a privately owned and managed unit, and we live just down the road, so you will have VIP status leading up to and during your stay! The Pelican Pad is our only rental property and future retirement home, so we love it just as much as you will! This one-bed (queen), one-bath condo is recently updated, top-to-bottom. The Pelican Pad is perfect for a romantic getaway or small family adventure! Have a couple kiddos? The unit also features twin bunk beds. The interior is lovely, but you'll probably want to spend most of your time taking in the gorgeous view on the patio, stocked with a table and chairs. You'll be greeted with a welcome basket plus a coffee station as well as some cold water bottles in the fridge. The restroom will be stocked with a few emergency items. You are certainly welcome to bring your own linens, but emergency back-up linens can be found in the bedroom closet. Renters will receive a link to a website managed by the owners with recommended restaurants, shopping, and activities! The unit is just steps from a private salt water pool and direct beach access. Look under the bunk beds to find a beach cart, beach chairs, and some beach toys! On the sound side of the building, you can find a well-kept communal area with covered picnic tables, playground equipment, horsheshoes, lawn bowling, and basketball. Enjoy some fun in the sun year-round, and visit every year to make it a beloved Topsail Island tradition! Just one hour from historic Wilmington, NC, if you are looking for a fun day trip, but you're probably not going to want to leave the Pelican Pad for long. : ) Property amenities: Beach access w/outdoor shower, private swimming pool, outdoor picnic and play area, private parking lot Unit amenities: HVAC, wifi, 2 TVs, DVD player with some DVDs, hair dryer, cable, books and games, linens (for queen, bunks, & sofa), towels (bath, kitchen, & beach), washer/dryer, refridgerator/freezer, microwave, stove/oven, toaster oven, traditional toaster, blender, slow cooker, basic kitchen/dining supplies, basic soaps, TP & paper towels, beach toys, first aid kit, emergency sunscreen & bug spray, welcome basket with snacks & bottles of water, coffee/tea station

We had a great stay at the Pelican Pad. It was a nice retreat at the end of each day and waking up to the sound of the ocean waves on the deck was a wonderful way to start the day! We had everything we needed for our stay and it was very homey.

This condo was perfect for two people. The view of the ocean and the breezes were wonderful. The amenities that the owner provided made our stay even more pleasant. It was as if we were guests, not renters.

This was the first time I took a solo trip and I loved it. The condo, proximity to the beach and pool everything was perfect. I enjoyed all my walks, sitting on the balcony reading , listening to the ocean and 1 night I slept out there!! I’m in my 60’s and I felt very safe here! Davonna added so many special touches and my favorite was the neutrogena face wipes!! They were refreshing after a day on the beach. I can’t say enough to explain how great it was !!!! I will definitely stay here again!!!

Our stay was awesome, the property is very nice, clean and well kept. Be aware the condo is a little bit of a walk to the elevator and beach, but we made it work. Topsail is awesome and would definitely go back!

I enjoy relaxing while at the beach as opposed to being in the midst of hustle and bustle and this was a great place to do just that! Not too far of a drive to some fantastic restaurants, and in a great spot where the beach wasn’t over crowded. Very much enjoyed our stay

Overall impression of the property was good upon arrival. We were happy the host communicated with us on the morning of check-in. However, once inside the unit, we were surprised & disappointed with the lack of cleanliness (i.e. long hairs on toilet, shower wall, bottom of fridge & the only dish towel hanging in kitchen; wet coffee left in coffee maker; food crusted to the dish drying mat; and dirty bath towel & bath rug to name some). On the first day of our 6-night stay, we ended up using disinfectant wipes to clean the kitchen and bathroom, as well as run a load of wash for the unit’s linens we planned to use. When paying a cleaning fee during booking, we did not expect to have to do so much cleaning ourselves. We know someone was there to have “cleaned” prior to our arrival because the unit was restocked with welcome treats. We recommend to bring a box fan with you for the bedroom if staying here during the summertime bc the bedroom remains much warmer than the rest of the condo and the lowest you’re allowed to set the thermostat is 72F. We would not stay here again.

I have never stayed a t a VRBO that was so thoughtfully stocked with EVERYTHING you need for a great stay. Davonna was an amazing host and answered all my concerns in a very timely manner. It is a bit of a hike to the beach even though you look like you’re staying oceanfront.

This property offered everything thing we were looking for. We went to many attraction such as the battleship Carolina, as well as the sea turtle sanctuary, and a small touch tank place. Walked the beach many times and grandson made many friends at the on property pool. I would stay there again if my travels brought me back to Topsail.

We had a great week staying at Davonna’s place! There were two adults and 3 kids and we were comfortable for the stay. My kids loved the pool area, we were there everyday at opening. Great area of beach as well, it wasn’t crowded at all!

This was a nice condo...just a bit smaller than any others we have been to...but beach is one of the BEST I have been to! Loved that it was easy to get to and had so many shells! Not a lot of restaurants in the immediate area but we did fine for just four nights. I would recommend this place!

The Pelican Pad was the perfect getaway spot! I brought my mom for a long weekend girl's trip and we could not have asked for a better stay. The property was clean and comfortable. There was easy access to the beach and it was not crowded at all. We woke up and drank our coffee every morning, while enjoying the view from the balcony and always ended the night there also. We will definitely be back again!

Pelical Pad is absolutely wonderful!! No problems, no issues from check in to check out. My "girls" and I had a fabulous girls weekend. We had never been to Topsail but we are re a dy to go back. The host had everything we needed from a wonderfully stocked kitchen, ( where everything worked) to the cleanliness of the entire unit, to the beach wagon and toys, to towels and bed linens, games for a rainy day, and on and on. Everything listed on the web site was there. There was a book with all the information needed and the view of the beach from the balcony and inside dinning table was magnificent. All of us are planning trips back with our spouces.

We loved our stay at the pelican pad! The condo was beautiful with everything we needed! Beds were comfortable and it was very clean! The location of the condo is perfect, just a short walk to the beach! My kids loved the basketball court and outdoor area! Everything inside the unit worked and the extra touches made us feel like we were at home! The host was so amazing with great communication, the early check in was perfectly timed as we arrived at the island early! We most definitely recommend the Pelican Pad!!

We planned a last minute trip and was lucky to find this gem. It was a very nice condo with a view of the ocean. It was nice to open the patio door and you could see and hear the ocean. The condo was clean and had everything we needed for our short stay.

Our stay at the Pelican pad was wonderful. The location to the beach and the view was amazing. My 9 year old daughter loved watching the dolphins from the balcony. The welcome basket with snack and juices was a big hit even with my big kids 😆. The pelican pad was very clean and cozy. It was equipping everything we needed plus more. We had such a nice little get away on Topsail (our first visit)! Our hosts were SUPER attentive, responsive and gracious. Wonderful people! The place is well stocked for such a tiny place with most things you'd ever need, except your own spices if you plan to do much cooking. Lots of coffee, creamers and tea to choose from though! They even have bug and suntan spray. Get a selfie with Ollie to octopus before you go. The location is a mostly homes so you'll need to drive back inland or south for groceries, restaurants and shops. Surf City has some great food just a few miles away. The sharks teeth were everywhere on the beach. SO SATISFYING!! We will be back! Thank you for sharing your place with us! 🐚🦀🏖🐙
