The cleaners & breakfast staff were friendly & warm. The front desk staff were adequate but I didn't feel a great vibe especially when I first arrived. Yeah, they know their job, but do they really value the people who come & stay at their hotel?
All was okay. I slept really well.

The food in the evening was excellent. The chicken, bacon and black pudding stack was out of this world. The room was just right although I had to descale the shower head to get a descent shower.

Really great staff and wonderful food.
Cleanliness of my room, especially the bathroom. I used one of the large bath towels to cover the floor because I didn't want to walk on it.

Breakfast was good thanks full English breakfast well done.

The bar staff, night porter and breakfast waitress were very friendly and accommodating.
There was good selection of food for breakfast
The hotel needs updating. Bed was reasonable but not very comfortable. All the cooked food we ate was over cooked.

The hotel was clean and very well-kept despite its old age. This did not apply to the fire escape stairs covered with cat droppings. Very nice and professional night personnel. Large parking. Whole night bar service, a very sensitive, and very loud fire detection system.
At one in the morning, the fire alarm went off in the hotel and for several dozen minutes people stood in the parking lot, waiting for the fire brigade to extinguish the non-existent fire. Not many minutes before two, we went back to bed. At three o'clock the alarm went off again, and once again we had to run down the shaded fire escapes to the assembly point. I didn't get any sleep, a damn loud alarm almost gave me a heart attack. In the morning, when I complained, the receptionist informed me that it was not their fault because a sensor in one of the rooms had broken. I would like to inform you that smoke detectors always give false alarms when the owner saves on handling them. Lack of maintenance is always the fault of the owner of the property, who increases his profit by cutting down on basic safety costs, which ruins the comfort of customers. In Poland, after something like this, no hotel owner would take the money for the night, because it is obvious that he did not keep the contract - he did not provide either a comfortable sleep or peace. Shame on you. I do not recommend this hotel, not only because the owner lacks class, but also because there is a huge risk that the owner who does not care about the fire protection system spares even more on other, less critical things, such as hygiene or food.
