The good - Good location to stay for the Oakland arena. Basic, complimentary breakfast was nice. Very nice staff and made the best of the hotel. Has a gym - single room, weights and treadmill. The bad - Cockroach in room. Homeless camp outside. Smells like smoke and weed.

We stayed in the "recently renovated rooms" on the third floor. And showers barely worked. Was scalding or cold, almost impossible to get an in-between. Hot tub was closed, key card readers barely worked and had to get keys three times before we got one that would even let us in the room. Elevator sounded like it was hanging on by a thread and the road leading to the hotel felt like skid row

They wouldn’t let me stay bc my ID was expired. Even though I explained that my new ID was in the mail. And it was raining

The area is not great with lots of homeless people in run down campers directly outside. The hotel itself smelled like smoke and was under construction.

This is not a safe environment and the General Manager, Martin, does not talk directly to customers for complaints. I was to stay for 6 days on a mother-son vacation. The place is filthy. Bedding is stained, smells like marijuana smoke and mildew, and you can hear the neighbors through the walls. I got accommodated by switching rooms to another filthy room. This area is not safe and surrounded by homelessness and trash. The gate security makes you feel imprisoned. I did not feel safe walking or leaving property because of the surroundings. I checked out the next morning, waited for Martin to get in and front desk worker said he is busy and she didn’t know how long it would be. So, I emailed him. He did not reply or call me back. But he responded to Hotels.com agent denying any of the events, disregarding the safety and security of non-Californian residents. I spent almost $700 for a one-night stay. It isn’t safe to walk anywhere and the moment I saw the murder news a couple weeks prior, I checked out immediately for the safety of my son and myself. I still haven’t gotten a call back from Martin, no apology, no accommodations, no refund, and hotels.com doesn’t have a conflict resolution process to look into these complaints or reviews. Do NOT recommend this place, you will be scammed of your money if you have issues.

The hotel is conveniently located for general Bay Area visits, and very well priced. The staff did a very good job of keeping things humming. The complimentary breakfast is primo! However, the hall carpeting is in poor shape and I had several issues with the guest room door locks. Though I appreciate the excellent security accommodations, the homeless presence right around the hotel is an issue. All in all, it was a good stay.

Staff was excellent. Room was older but comfortable and aside from the old carpet was clean. The area was very sketchy though. Homeless people all around the buildings. There was a gate around the hotel and security guards to let you in. The window in my room was unlocked (thank heavens I checked as I was on the first floor) The hotel worked for a quick overnight by the airport while traveling but I would not ever go there for fun

I want a refund!! The room had bed bugs, stains and mildew all over the pull out sofa couch cushions look like them have never been cleaned! Staff was friendly but had to ask for fresh towels multiple times and didn’t have and linen for sofa bed had to call 3 times and ask then hours later had to go to front desk and ask again and wait till we got them then they only gave a blanket with cigarettes but a in it. No linen for disgusting sofa bed! Pics on hotels.com don’t match what the property actually looks like! Very disappointed and want a refund!! Also right outside of property is skid row of homeless folks plus a murder happened just on the corner while we were staying there!!!

Staff was helpful and friendly. Homeless camp in front of the hotel makes you feel uneasy but the 24 hour gates and guarded property helps.

I was thoroughly impressed by the stay. While the neighborhood may not be the best, they have a completely fenced parking lot, and the entrance has a security guard from 5pm to 9am. It’s good to stay at a place in the Bay Area where your car window is protected overnight. Hotel itself was fine for the price, no complaints.

Not sure how they ran out of towels and wash clothes.
Outside the gate of the property was disgusting and full of trash.

The girl at the desk was amazing! Loved the shampoo set up in bathroom. Only issue was just one thin blanket on the bed needed a comforter and the breakfast had lots of bread for toast but no muffins besides the homeless camp out side the gate. Hotel did great job making the guests feel safe with the security out side the gate

There’s crack head’s everywhere around the property it’s smells like smoke everywhere around the complex and I was blamed and charged for smoking after I heard the front desk lady tell one of the guys that usually stay there not to be smoking in the rooms . And also. Booked a stay and didn’t stay and was still charged. I’m still eating to receive my refund.

The place was run down. The hallways and the rooms had a some strange odor. Parts of the rooms were being repainted, that also didn’t help with the smell. Carpets in the hallway and inside the rooms were flat and dirty. Some parts of the carpet had holes.

A lot of "trashy" looking vehicles/encampments on road. Security gate makes us feel better. Stayed here to be close to airport in morning.

I left at midnight. This was the worst run place i have ever seen. People hanging out in the parking lot. No one at the front desk. I was told they didnt want to work on christmas. Tons of people getting pissed in the lobby. Got locked in the bathroom for over 2 hours. The handle when turned would not open the door from the inside. Finally my boyfriend came back to the room and had to pry the door open from the outside. I was crying and pounding on the walls. I want a refund. Didnt even stay overnight. 7 hours and it cost nearly $150. Dog fees and deposit. Which was not discloused to me when room was booked.bi specially picked this motel because it said. Pet friendly. I should have been told about the $25 deposit and $25 fee for 1 night stay.

Homeless encampment right outside but its Oakland so...There's a security guard and a gate which makes you feel a bit better but the guy has to open the gate manually. They're the doing the best they can here. Came in town for a concert so it was just a one night stay and fine for our needs. Room was decent but a little dusty and the bathroom vent was filthy which is a pet peeve of mine, but fine overall. Tub has a non slip finish which was a plus. Front desk staff was friendly.

We pulled 2 blocks away from hotel and I started asking my friend why is it so many homeless. The closer we got, the worse it got.
I told him the lady at the hotel lied to me. She did it was fine to get me to keep the booking.
The hotel looked like something of the zombie apocalypse and the photos on hotels.com is lie.
My friend said the LA Quinta you knew is gone. I screamed in anger and the little security guy asked if we were checking in. I said NO and we backed out.
We got a hotel somewhere else. 😡

Not so clean in halls and common areas. Hard to find how to enter due to heavy encampment. Needs to be upgraded for the prices being charged

This place was utterly disgusting. Literally, there was overflowing trash in the hallways. The carpets were filthy. The room was OK, but there was a cockroach in the bathroom, and before I even got to our room, I told the front desk that I didn’t like staying there because it looked very unsafe. There was homeless people camping out right outside the gates.

the shower did not work they would not change my room my 2017 corvette was park less then three hours and it was stolen they had security guards and a security gate

The area around the hotel is VERY SKETCHY. Lots of homeless encampments and property not clean. Checked in, front desk lady was great however the manager Martin (I believe was his name) charged me $50 (room was $70) to check in 2hrs early. I am a traveling medical professional who work over night (which was explained to him) and needed to get a few hrs rest before work. I asked if the early check in could be waived, he stated no amongst other things.
There were also many people that appeared to live in the hotel and were not just overnight guest. I checked out after 6hrs and not only was my card charged the $50 for checking in 2hrs early but for 2 full nights as well (only stayed one, technically 6hrs). I will NEVER stay here again & this is my second bad experience w/a Wyndham property. Never again.

I booked 3 rooms double beds for 2 nights, but they did not respect my booking for Friday night. Very upset and unsatisfied.

There was a giant fence around the property that a guard has to manually open, probably because the neighborhood has unhoused people, but none of them were bothering anyone.

It was not even clean bed had someone else hair in it room wasn't even handicap accessible for it to be part of the igh chain I flew in from Virginia not to get a peaceful night sleep had to check out early because I couldn't rest scared that a bug might get on me our even my things

homeless are on the sidewalk, gate and guard to enter the property. Hotel is tired. Room was better than the public areas. One good thing- the breakfast was good. I wouldn't recommend staying there.

Although there was a lot of homeless along the entrance on the street to the hotel, last time we were there, there was no main security gate to enter. This time there was a Gate that was close, and the security guard didn’t let us in before checking that we had reservations before getting. As far as safety we felt safe with the security being the area. .The rooms was fine, nice and clean and comfortable and quiet.
