Great hotel with character. Felt like an elegant hotel from the late 19th century. Extremely friendly and helpful staff! Had to tip them extra!

First time visit to the Blennerhassett. The hotel kept me well informed, the rooms were nice and clean and the staff were great. Nice little bar and restaurant area. Definitely will stay here the next time I visit Parkersburg.

A few highlights - very friendly staff, lovely bar, good breakfast, excellent mattresses, pleasant atmosphere. Hot water took a bit, but it did get hot. The details are just nice, flowers, piano music, appropriate music throughout the spaces. Thank you.

Fantastic hotel. Extremely clean and staff is beyond friendly. Loved every minute with the exception of the heat in our room. The heat and fan would cycle about every 2 minutes making sleep very difficult. Aside from that it is a must see destination.

Historical Hotel! Wish they would have offered a hot breakfast instead of a box to go! It’s too good of a Hotel to not give an opinion. Egg on a hairnet was tacky! The dye from the netting was on the egg. Not a good presentation. However, the foyer was decorated for Valentines and it was lovely.

Felt like I was reliving.some of the history of this iconic hotel. Upscale dining in the hotel restaurant. Lots of historical photos and artifacts to look at in the lobby and library room.. Amazing ceilings etc. Lux robes in the closet. Can host large wedding parties in the ballrooms etc.

We enjoyed the historical ambience and the beautiful holiday decor. The in-house reataurant and bar had a great menu.. Free valet service and a knowledgeable concierge were appreciated. All in all our stay was enjoyable compared to common hotel chains. It was an experience not just a place to sleep.

Our first room had a toilet clog, so we were moved to another room. That room also had issues with the toilet where it consistently leaked onto the floor and we had to put a water bottle underneath the tank to catch the water so it wouldn’t soak the floor like it was when we moved to that room.

Enjoyable stay at the Blennerhassett. Found the town was very walkable. Parking available. Not to impressed with some of the remodeling but seeing it through a contractor's eyes (my husband). Did not use the dining room or bar. We traveled down for a concert (Tim O'Brien) . The hotel was decorated beautifully for the holidays!

Started with a spa "manager" (yeah, right) contacting me to ask if I'd like to reserve spa services. I listed those i wanted for all three of our family members. It took three days and me telling her to just give me a quote, by which time i was just irritated and told her to forget it. The hotel has great potential but only if they clean the place up and find some conscientious employees. Nothing was open at times they'd indicated, parking is in rear alley a block away, and the room was nothing great. Brunch is WAY overpriced and ok at best. We paid $300 for a dinner that consisted of a raw steak, rotten fish, alfredo that was little more milk, and roasted Brussel sprouts that weren't roasted but fried in months-old multipurpose oil. The charcuterie board was served with Club crackers! Tacky and digusting! Overall, I'm just thoroughly mad about time and money wasted on this place. It's a joke. Unless they do something major to this building and the staff, I'll go out of my way to discourage people from it. It's horrible across the board.

Disappointed. Stayed here several times in the past with husband and at conferences twenty years ago. The decor and service was much better then before it became a “boutique “ hotel. Yesterday’s front desk clerk was rude. Bellhop was fantastic. He should deal with the customers more. Carpet was very worn and looked dirty. Rooms were plain not the Victorian look they once had. Christening tree display throughout first floor was gorgeous.

We loved staying here and would highly recommend it.

Was very excited to stay here because of its history. Wanted to take the $5 hotel guided tour and they emailed me to say it wasn’t available but a $20 ghost and hotel tour was. Me and my guest took it and it was fine but $40 is a lot more than the $10 I was prepared for. Also filled out their questionnaire and asked if I could get a room with 2 beds and they quickly shot me down and told me to call Expedia. I just stayed with the king bed room. Was fine. Weird that the shower/toilet are separate from the sink. The biggest letdown was the breakfast buffet. I got $10 off each buffet and the bill for 2 was $60. I get better breakfast buffets in Los Angeles for $60. It was borderline inedible and gross. Everyone was so kind I didn’t want to complain but I was so shocked and really wish I would’ve complained and got a refund.

I like the atmosphere around Halloween. The decor inside and out. And given its rich history, always at this time of year

The property was safe, staff was friendly, and area was lovely. It was also presented in wonderful holiday decor for the Halloween holiday. Overall, we had a lovely stay. However, there were no staff manning valet carts or parking, as was mentioned in services per the website. We had issues wuth finding an empty parking spot, perhaps because of haunted tours being given and property being full. However, if the room charge ensured parking, it should not have been a battle for two nights to allocate one on our own. Perhaps issuing permits marking designated hotel guests could have made it less appealling for those tour guests or others to use the hotel lot in our place. Just a thought...
The brunch at the restaurant was delicious, and we walked locally for a dinner within a few blocks. I would stay again. It was a lovely historic building and we learned much about its history while there.

We loved our stayed at the Blennerhassett. It's a renovated classic historical "old style" hotel fillled with charm. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. We stayed in one of the Junior Suites on the 5th floor and it was super roomy and well maintained. The hotel is popular for weddings and if I lived in that area, I would have my wedding there too. The weekend brunch was excellent. They have continental breakfast during the weekdays and loved that they included protein like Hard Boil Eggs. Would stay there again in heartbeat. Great location. Walkable to the Blennerhassett Island museum, downtown restaurants, the majestic old homes in Juliana Street. Plus it may be haunted???? They have a spa there that is very popular with the bridal parties.

Historic, but updated property was fun and relaxing for a short getaway. Hotel staff was courteous and helpful. Nice alternative to chain hotels.

Dining offerings were very limited for what we believed was a full service hotel.

Great old legacy hotel that needs professional, franchised ownership.

The staff was friendly and extremely responsive when we had a special request. Also the food at the restaurant was excellent and Kyle, the bartender, has come up with some superb original twists on classic cocktails!
