Room and lobby area were exceptionally clean. Only problem was our shower head was really low. And not draining properly.

Checked in and got my room key, opened the door and there was people in the room. Awkward! Rooms are dingy.

I won't stay here again. Not worth the $$ I had to pay. The sidewall of the tub was patched with duct tape. Cmon, you can't afford to replace the tub and make it look nice??

It needs updating. The sink was clogged, the lock plate was missing screws. There was no notification we wouldnt get room service.
The beds and pillows are VERY comfortable!

Rooms were ok but not that nice. Hair dryer in room didn’t work. The shower worked for short periods of time and then would stop. Had to wait 5-10 minutes for water to work from shower again. Before 8 am we asked for our room to be cleaned and made up. Only received clean towels with the garbage emptied. Beds not made and no cleaning

They let me check in early. It was game day so that was nice but that was the only thing nice about the hotel. It’s run down there were stain on the walls and the room smelled really bad. The cooling unit was so loud it woke me up every time it kicked on.

If you are going to jack up your rates because there is a home football game for Iowa State Univ, you should be darn sure your facility is up to par. The place was not very clean, the shower was moldy (grout) and worn out, not very nice in appearance (consider replacing or thoroughly clean). Next, there was red stain, an inch wide, and very visible on the ceiling. We stayed two nights but the clean staff did not clean our room or provide new items (e.g., coffee packets) after the first night. Lastly, the front desk was unattended numerous times throughout our stay.

The stay and room was good. The elevator on the left side of the hotel by the laundry room closes really fast. My husband was pushing out a luggage cart and my 2 year old was walked out of the elevator when the door closed and scraped his foot. Not sure if it’s supposed to close as you’re walking out but something to watch out for

Appreciate the closeness to the interstate and restaurants. Well lite parking lots. Rooms were very clean and in excellent shape!

Freezer had ice build up and then housekeeping came in to fix it while me (9mo pregnant) and my 2yo son were in the room and busted open where the Freon is and let Freon into the room… and after that the fridge/freezer quit working and made the floor soaked. $80 worth of food/beverages ruined. And my health and my sons health at risk.

This was the worst bed I have ever tried to sleep in

There was a used contact stuck to the sheets of the bed. Looked like pubic hair near the pillows. The bathrooms had mold around the bath tub on the inside. The floors were not swept or clean. I ended up leaving because of the filth. It cost me more money to find a different room somewhere else on short notice because of the incompetence and poor facility cleanliness of the staff and the hotels standards.

On a very hot and humid day in Ames the AC was broken in our room. The desk gave us a box fan because we could not be moved due to a full house.
We were told that they could not make restitution for the problem. It has to be Expedia. Here is you chance Expedia. We really should not have paid full price for a room without AC.

I chose not to have my card charged before I went because my mother was going to pay for her own room. They charged my card 2 weeks prior to our stay anyways. I was told I would get a refund when I checked in. A week later and still no refund issued to my card and my mothers card was also charged for her room. I also was told they put a hold of 35.00 for incidentals on my card and was charged that amount 3xs not just once. And those still haven’t came off our card. The property was very run down. We didn’t have light bulbs in our lamps (they did get us some), outlets in the bathroom didn’t work, our secondary door lock didn’t work. Super bright lights in the hallways and a window in the room facing the hallways made for a really bright night. The beds were however pretty comfy. However the hotel is no where near campus like it claims to be.

Old and tired. Room smelled like stale cigarette smoke. Bathtub/shower drain clogged, toilet barely flushed. Breakfast was gross and so bad we left and went to McDonalds. Will not stay here again.

My shower had black mold and pink bacteria in all the grout lines and didn't even work. Had to skip the shower entirely.

This property is dated and needs some updates. There were no USB charging ports in the room. In this day and age that is unforgivable. There was also black mold in the shower. Other than those two things the room was comfortable.

Ok for the night. Decently clean but rooms were very dated and in disrepair. Entire floor reeked of Mary Jane. Staff was friendly.

Side door wasn’t locked, which was a little concerning. Equipment in the fitness center could use a tune-up.
