While there were parts of our stay we enjoyed, we also feel as if the mark was missed several times. To begin, we had an absolutely terrible experience at ‘Next’ the lobby bar. It was very unclear if we were meant to seat ourselves or be seated by staff but that didn’t seem to matter, we sat at a table and a very unenthused, very unfriendly employee just asked what we wanted to drink. No welcome or water offered. We ordered and waited 22 minutes for cocktails on the menu, things the bar should be able to push out quickly. By the way this is at maybe 6:30 with only a dozen other bar guests. Our server walked the drinks over to the table with no tray (one in each hand) and spilt one on me and my iPhone. No apology was offered, no replacement of the drink. They just returned with dry bar napkins after I had to ask. Such a bummer, such uninterested staff with no desire to make us feel welcomed. On top of that the thermostat in our room was all over the place and not functioning properly. Our TV and phone didn’t work for most of the stay and the servicemen just said that the TV was most likely broken and all they could do was offer us to switch rooms at 1am. Really disappointing, expected a hotel of this caliber and price point to be more willing to help smooth the bumps out or make us feel comfortable and taken care of. Based on our first experience, I can’t say that we’ll return to or recommend the watergate which is a shame because some aspects of the hotel were quite nice.

Unfortunately, my room had no working TV, telephone, or Wi-Fi. Eventually I was given another room, but in that room the electrical socket in the bathroom did not work.

Came for college tour with my daughter. Our flight got in early so the best part was they got us a room early morning around 9 am. However other services such as housekeeping was poor. I had to ask for coffee pods each day, they did't supply it when they picked up our room. Their room service would not pick up the phone on repeat attempts and neither did their front desk or bell numbers. They said room service was available until 10:30pm and i called at 10 pm with no answer. It was super frustrating. Disappointed as the hotel itself was very beautiful but service did not match the price they charged.

The day of our check-in the hotel was dealing with door lock issues so we didn’t get into our room until 45 minutes after the 4pm check-in which was a little frustrating since we had a scheduled engagement that we needed to attend so that set us back a little. When we finally were given a room key we discovered the room door lock was still out of order so we couldn’t get in. We had to have one of the hotel employees escort us up to our room every time we left and had to re-enter up until 9PM. I will say the hotel staff was extremely apologetic and tried their best to make things right. It was our bad luck the hotel was having door lock issues on the day of our arrival but it was an unfortunate situation because it was our first time in DC and we were there to celebrate our wedding anniversary.

I stayed at the Watergate 15-20 years ago and I was so very excited to come back. I was disappointed out of the gates. The entry to my room was off of a small room (like a broom closet) and the key sensor on my door was just a hole in the door. The carpet was stained, everything was dingy and banged up, worn, and the room was incredibly small. The blackout curtains were off their track so I woke up to laser beams of light (on the days I was able to sleep in). The internet was rubbish. The water had been turned off to the toilet which took me a beat to figure out. Why was the water shut off?... because the toilet leaks water into the floor! The walls are incredibly thin. I could clearly hear discussions in the room next door and when they opened the curtains it was deafening. The gym was far too hot and the equipment was not great. The treadmills were incredibly loud and screatchy. There was a rower but the screen didn't work. Bottles of water in the gym were hit and miss. I wanted to love my stay but unfortunately I was incredibly disappointed and I won't be back.

You must stay here. It was everything it boasted to be. I cant rave enough over how friendly happy and ready to assist the staff was. Specifically Ms Candela checked on us after finally checking and getting settled to make sure we were enjoying our stay. Outstanding customer service ‼️ It was a treat for myself and husband, a much needed birthday getaway. There was nothing we did not like. 💕✨️✨️✨️✨️

The service was excellent. I would definitely recommend based on customer service alone. Everything was clean.
