clean. well kept. compact but just fine. helpful staff, Our only complaint was that it was very noisy outside our window from about 5:30AM on.

Great room for 3 people. Very spacious.

The hotel was convenient to my business meeting and to Central Park, where I went for a nice morning run. But the hotel is very tired and worn. The room had a slight musty smell. The AC was not capable of cooling the room to a comfortable sleeping temperature. I will not stay again if I can avoid it.

It was pretty good in terms of service. The windows were facing construction and so unbelievably loud. The windows are not double pane so you hear everything outside. The standard queen room was teeny tiny so they moved us to a bigger room which was much better. Good location

Great stay at the Ameritania! The location was amazing, just a couple blocks from Times Square, we felt like we could get anywhere right from the hotel. The room was clean, not too big or too small, it was just right for a place to crash in between site seeing. The bell hop Jeff was AMAZING. He drew out a route on a map for each day we were there showing how to make the most of our time and see the most things. We used the hotels car service to get to the airport on our way home and that was great. $120 to the Newark airport and there was no traffic so it was definitely more pricey (we paid $75 for an Uber into the city during rush hour) but the convenience was great. Would 100% recommend and will definitely be staying here again!

Our room was pretty good. Not a great view with the scaffolding--- the bed was kind of slanted, but otherwise we had a great stay and all the staff was super nice.

The hotel is good, clean and the location
Is great. Staff is not very friendly.

The hotel is in a great location. It was clean and comfortable.
My husband, two teen daughters, and I were only there for one night, but will stay again.

This is a nice budget hotel. You are at the lower end of pricing for hotels in the Times Square are and that is evident. However, the staff is amazing and the location is great. The rooms were a little run down, but the bed was comfortable.

Room was clean but a little worn out. Elevators all out of order my first night so I had to climb 12 flights of stairs.

Was initially given a teeny tiny room but staff told me they could move me to a bigger room the next day and they did. I like that the windows actually open for fresh air. Wasn’t thrilled that they added the elevator key card since last time but I guess in NYC they have to have it for safety. Just gets annoying. It’s a cute place in a great location.

Not a good experience at all. Not even close to the pics on your website. There was a gas smell on the first room they wanted to give us. Your website said it was “excellent” and it is not

We were in a clean room, but the toilet was so tightly scrunched into the bathroom that you could not sit on it without hurting your knees. It was a small bathroom with a low commode.
The staff was very pleasant and helpful, and I think the hotel owners should simply take these very small rooms out of circulation.

Everything was OK except damaged bath tube.

We had a very nice stay in our suite with two adults, two teens. The rooms are on the larger side for NYC, and comfortable. Air conditioning very good. The best things about the hotel are its location and great staff. The front desk folks were great and Jeff really helped me get through the issues with booking cars. Thanks very much, Jeff!
We would definitely stay here again.

Friendly staff but room had scaffolding outside, even though reception said I had a “really great room” - It appeared just a random room with nothing great about it + the bed was lumpy which as I was staying 7 nights for work wasn’t great….

This hotel is old and outdated. The rooms are very small. The hotel desk service personnel were great though. The location is also great. I wouldn’t want to stay there more than one night. Probably will never book this one again.

Convenient location, very clean, friendly staff. Strongly recommend this hotel for value.

The hotel itself was wonderful. The furnishings were updated and the staff was friendly and professional. The location was very convenient for the activities we had planned. The only downer was that there was construction going on and the building was swathed in scaffolding. Made for a poor view and a fair amount of noise from the ongoing work. But it's something that is always ongoing in New York City.

Ameritania is a great option. Well located and spacious rooms. Great staff, friendly and knowledgeable.

Hot water in the shower only worked sometimes. Room was a little pricey for what it was - pretty small and cramped but nice enough bed and fixtures. Pretty average for what I would expect in NYC. Friendly and helpful staff.

Staff was extremely helpful and friendly… They had such positive energy and seemed so happy to be there.

Very welcoming staff. Great room. An overall happy experience.

Modern, very clean! Free coffee in the am in the lobby, apples in the afternoon. Best elevator music EVER! Which is an odd characteristic, but we definitely noticed! Great location!

The room was nice and clean. Not large, but regular NYC standards. Bathroom is nicely updated. Halls were quiet. Elevators were small and a little slow (especially with a large group checking in), but we would definitely stay here again.

Very cozy hotel with great staff members. Location was perfect for where we wanted to visit & felt very safe

Loves our stay here. The hotel was very clean and the staff, especially the doormen, were super friendly. The location is so fantastic and at a reasonable price. My only problem was that I wish there was a small designated pet relief area. For the hotel to be so about how pet friendly they are, which they were, it was difficult to have to go out late at night to try and find a small patch of grass so my dog could do it's thing. Especially as a single female it didn't always feel safe to have to go walk in central park at 12 or 1 in the morning alone. It doesn't change how much I enjoyed my stay but it would be helpful for all future dog stays. Thank you!

I stood here due to its amazing location and the pictures but I won’t be staying again. I was given a lower floor which meant I heard all kinds of noise all night long. I was also by the elevator and heard everything there. The bed had a small visible stain. The bathroom door was undone and the shower wasn’t draining properly so there was an awkward puddle while I showered. Not to mention spatter everywhere since it was a half door on the shower. Won’t be staying again.

Nice room, quiet, no problems, bed was a bit sunken in, charged an extra $20/night for a prepaid room

Staff was excellent. Room was clean and spacious for being in NYC Times Square area. Great location.
Negatives: VERY small bathrooms in rooms and the wall need updating (wallpaper torn and badly worn/dirty in some areas).
Overall, though, a good hotel in a good location with quality staff.
But rooms are in need of an update.

Location is perfect. Check in was smooth. The room and bed very comfortable. The only thing was that the towel bar fell off the wall when I touched it, and the arm of the desk chair was broken. Again, nothing against the hotel itself. I hope to stay there again.

There was only one thing wrong with my stay. Everything else was fantastic. Unfortunately, the thermostat in my room was malfunctioning such that it was FAR too hot. I had turned it down after dropping off my things early in the evening, but when I came back around 11:30pm, it was still 85 degrees. It stayed that way the entire night. And of course the windows don't open so there was no way to cool the room down. (On the tiny upside: it was great after a shower; just not any other time.)

We were given a room on the second floor for our 2 night stay but when we found a huge roach crawling across the floor they were good about moving us to a higher floor. The front desk staff was very helpful but really didn’t appear terribly surprised. They kept sending employees up to check other potential rooms and they keep reporting back that they were no good (not sure exactly what they were checking for). They finally found a room on the 12th floor that passed whatever test. If it hadn’t been 11:30pm I would have went searching for another hotel. I lived in NYC for years so I’m familiar with roaches but to have something that big on a non basement or ground floor is indicative of a real problem.

Staff was quite friendly and helpful, especially Jeff, a most pleasant doorman, who arranged transportation back to the airport on consecutive days for both me and my son. The room, especially the bed was incredibly comfortable. Location was convenient to many attractions on foot and a mere 200 yard walk to the subway. Will be glad to stay here on future nyc visits.

Served our purposes well for a one night stay. Located close to Carnegie Hall(/where we were seeing a show) and plenty of restaurants/ bars close by. Hotel was clean and nice and room, comfortable. The lighting could be improved and bathroom designed with little surface to put stuff but, otherwise, we enjoyed our stay and would return.

We had a great stay at the Ameritania. It was super close to get to Central Park, 30 Rock and the theatres. We appreciated the bottled water when we arrived. The room was exceptionally quiet which is not always easy to find in the city. The room and bathroom were also a decent size which can also be difficult to find. This is my new go-to hotel for NYC!

Our room was very clean and nice. We had no coffee maker and no fridge. We had noise from nearby business until midnight. Bed too soft.

This hotel is perfection…..my go to spot in NYC

I didn't appreciate having to wait for my room even as I came in after the check-in time. The TV wasn't working and the toilet flush broke (although the service was fast when I requested help; thanks!). I paid for the cheapest room so I understand that I was going to get a small room, so that's not really anybody's fault. Now I know that I should get a bigger room for double occupancy should I decide to stay there again (the bed was very small).
