The hotel has a musty odor and our room was dirty. Crumbs in drawers and in other areas of the room. Questionable smear on outside of toilet bowl.
Hot tub closed due to "painting" without warning and when the front desk staff was asked when it would be open again, they had no idea it was even closed in the first place.
The breakfast was disappointing. The eggs and sausage were cold.

Old and in need of updating. Bathroom super small but bed was comfortable

This is a shabby and run-down hotel. The smell emitted from the heater in the room was dank and humid. My key to get in the hotel after 10 pm did not work. I had to wand in the back parking lot looking for another door to enter. The desk clerk was outside smoking right next to the front door when I arrived, so I needed to walk through a cloud of smoke.

Very clean. Hot tub was large and open until 11pm!

Very small tv. The food for breakfast was cold, tables were dirty. Nobody was around to make sure food was stocked. Lady behind the desk not friendly had an old hooded sweatshirt on and stocking cap. When i called to double check my reservation that i did online and didnt get an email confirmation she was very rude. She told me i didnt and i asked her to make a reservation and she told me to call the dells first because it probably went there and i asked can you just make the reservation and then i would call the dells to check and she said no that i had to call there first.

This is a nice quiet hotel. We stayed here to go skiing at Cascade and I knew this area from family members staying here. It was the perfect weekend getaway. Baraboo is a small town but of course close to the Dells and other areas. We loved the local diner and easy to find fast food near by. It had just snowed the day before and it was bitterly cold so the parking lot was a little risky but over not bad. Hot tube and pool were perfect after a day of skiing.

It looks like the rooms have undergone some renovation.
The rooms were very clean and incredibly spacious. More importantly, the beds were very comfortable. Not too firm but definitely not too soft. We got a good night's sleep.

Pillows and beds were like sleeping on clouds. Staff was able to accomadate and early check in

The Clarion was probably a very nice place at one time. Now, it is rather tired and needs updating. The room was very clean but all outside glass doors need cleaning. The hair dryer in our room did not work, lampshades were bent; etc. They try but there is only so much that can be done I suppose. Neighborhood is great for safety and food options.

Hotel is very outdated. Teal walls, dark room, etc. With that said, the bed seemed clean and was comfortable. Dells are always expensive. I would expect this room to be under $100 anywhere else.

Old carpet that makes you leave your shoes on. Tub wouldn’t drain water, maids came in despite signs saying they would not unless we called. They replaced all our towels and just took the wash cloths without replacing.

Room was big, clean and satisfied that we got 1st floor. Only problem was in the morning. We found a couple ants on one of the beds.

Had to buy air freshener for room.
Bathroom sink did not drain properly.
Last night there was loud music could be heard in room. Complained to front desk. Were told it would probably stop around midnight.
House keeping staff were great!!

It was as expected for the most part. Although we found some plastic press on nails behind the bathroom door when we first got into the room.

I did a review of this hotel -- for the hotel chain. It was/is a pleasant hotel in the heart of a small town and located 15 minutes from Devils Lake State Park. If you are not a camper, then you can stay here and still find it easy to follow the rural roads to the park, where all can enjoy the hiking trails and swim in the waters of Devils Lake. Catamarans and kayaks welcome! Hotel facilities are much more up-to-date than campsite outhouses and less smelly!!! The hotel serves a great breakfast! The hotel room was clean and up to date in terms of amenities, although I did have trouble getting my laptop/Chromebook to access their website and the hotel staff were clueless on that. The hotel itself is clean and has an indoor pool and fitness room --- neither of which I used since I went to the state park during the day. And I loved the decor of the breakfast room. Typical hotel breakfast --- selection of cereals, apples, packages of peanut butter and cream cheese spread next to a plastic case laden with donuts, rolls, thick slices of white bread....hot options were sausages, scrambled eggs, chopped up potatoes, and a case with milk, yogurt, dispensers for fruit juices, coffee, tea etc. Baraboo is a cute little town with lots of attractions (circus museum, International Crane Foundation), aside from the state park....the former is good for small children but adults will like it. There are way too many roundabouts in the layout of Baraboo's streets, so have fun!!

Stayed here after a mix up at a different hotel. Checked in late (10:30pm). Front desk attendant was very nice. The room was poorly vacuumed, crumbs and a bottle cap found on the floor. The tray holding the coffee pot was sticky and not at all clean. Found a vial of narcan in the refrigerator.

Decent hotel. Clean but could definitely use some updates. Our sink drained very slow and the complimentary shower products left a lot to be desired. But overall, the hotel served is purpose and was a decent place to sleep.

It said pet fried sky but almost turned us away since only had rooms not typically used for pets. Outside there was little to no grass

A place to sleep, had 2 towels went to front desk to get more and he was sound asleep and couldn't wake him up. A bit pricey for what it was but supply and demand i guess.

The room was simple yet very clean. The beds were comfy and the staff was so friendly and accommodating

The room was clean. The bathroom was uncomfortably small. The change machine in laundry was out of order. Desk clerk was smoking outside when we arrived. Bathroom in lobby was horrible. One stall covered in poo. One stall clogged. One stall lock didn’t work. Pool very cold and pool floor in desperate need of repainting. Very uninviting. Wardrobe closet door broken. Doesn’t slide. Definitely not worth over $500 for a 2 nite stay.

It's an older hotel that has not been updated for sometime. Housekeeping is not thorough.

There was a party in the property. I found many people loitering outside the venue by the front desk. The beds were very uncomfortable and breakfast was NOT good.

Check in was super quick and hotel was very comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised that breakfast was more than expected. Good stay for great price

The swimming pool was overly treated with chemicals. Ventilation was bad in the pool area. When we walked in to the pool room, the chlorine smell was so much that our eyes burned and our throats burned. I know this had to have been a safety hazard for those that were swimming. We turned around. It did not even go swimming. We could smell the chlorine on the first floor and the pool is on the fourth floor.
Breakfast was lackluster. Apples were old and selection was poor.

-Cofe mashine malfunction in breakfast time.
- fan in bathroom ceiling wedged with toilet paper to reduce vibration.
- door blocade/lock falling apart, screw loose.
- dust in rooms.
- bed spread dirty.
- shower curtain bar lose in drywall.

The front desk guy awesome!!! But paying $250 a night for this location is way too high. After waking in the morning I found a large yellow stain at edge of comforter that was by my face but hidden by pillows. My husband thought maybe pee stains? Plus location is just plain dated for that kind of money!!!

Everything was great. No complaints. We really enjoyed the food at the restaurant as well.

We were really surprised by this property! It was super clean, and we got a great deal on a hot tub suite which was huge, clean, and well laid out. The pool was quite and clean, and had a unique area that led outside where there was a sun deck. Its close to the dells which was great!
