Great location, lovely art deco hotel with spacious rooms......but needs painting and new carpet in the hallways. Why they don't keep on top of properties is beyond me!!

Convenient to local transportation. Room was very clean and quiet. One minor issue was location of outlets for phone charging.

The check-in process felt slow at the front desk, but overall it was pleasant once it was my turn. Our room was smaller than expected. The shower had good pressure but the temperature fluctuated both hot and cold frequently throughout. Our housekeeper went above and beyond. I was very pleased with her. She was very kind and did a wonderful job. The doors do slam shut which was a bit frustrating as the people in the room next to us were coming and going til 4 in the morning, which provided us a restless night. There were ample elevators thankfully with security monitoring guest activity. We appreciated the location of the hotel to Times Square and the train station.

It was great to stay in a hotel in a good location, with a ton of interesting history attached, friendly and helpful staff, and polite other guests, too. I stayed in a suite, which was spacious and had an excellent view of the city. If I had to point out something that could be improved upon, the bedding was a little rough, but otherwise no complaints.

The room was tiny. For two people, it w tight. No coffee makes or min fridge, unless you want to pay extra. Additional fee on 35$ per night when we got there. God location if you want Broadway and access to subway. Free internet.

My stay was good. The room was comfortable and considering the hotel's age, it's still fit for purpose. The only thing that concerned me was the photos of the room posted on this website were not the same as what I got. But it was still a good room, a bit small though.
The hotel had good access to the subway, so traveling around was not hard. It was close to Times Square and Macy's too.
The members of staff were all friendly and helpful. No one was rude at all. I liked that a lot.
I had multiple issues with my keycards though, they get easily demagnetized so I had to change them four times, throughout my seven-night stay. It wasn't too difficult to do so, it was just a bit of a hassle at times.
Overall, I had a good stay at The New Yorker. The history of the place is unmatched.
I'd stay again when I come back to New York City.

The location was great. The staff was fried my and helpful. The halls and rooms were a bit dated.

It was exactly as we expected- very cool art-deco style, old but not run-down, and the kids especially loved the view of the Empire State Building from our room!

Outstanding cozy clean enjoyable hotel. Also has 2 great restaurants attached and one is open 24 hours a day.

Went to the hotel for a weekend getaway. The pictures online and what I saw when I made it were very different. The bathrooms were outdated and rusted. My walk in closet is bigger than the room. The only convenience was the location. Other than that, stay clear of the hotel.

Mohammed at the front desk started me off with having a great stay here. I am in NYC for business and I needed a nice quiet room.
He gave me a nice room on the 19th floor which was perfect. Probably the best sleep I have ever had in NYC.
Thank you to Mohammed for finding out why I was staying here and taking an interest to make my stay as enjoyable as possible.

So i went up for my birthday weekend and upon arrival my boyfriend and I arrived earlier than expected (around 11am) checkin is at 4 and because my boyfriend wasn’t on my itinerary they still allowed him to stay a night with no additional charges (being he was only able to stay a night since he had work on Sunday (yesterday) anyhow got accommodated with no issue, one thing in particular that bothers me is that you need your key card to show the hotel staff in order to get to your room aka if you order food you essentially have to go and get it because your dasher or Uber eats driver won’t be allowed upstairs.. which is a total pain..speaking of total pain, the rooms are not equipped with mini fridges or microwaves so if you plan to stay here this won’t be ideal for you… other than that the neighbors around my room were slightly obnoxious being I was on the 25th floor room 2570.. and they would slam doors, talk loudly etc. and it got to a point where I couldn’t sleep.. going on, the rooms are most Certainly outdated, rooms are tiny and my heater kept blowing cold air even when it was set to heat. Whenever someone above me flushed a toilet or started their shower my shower had a mind of its own and it would either go ice cold or scolding hot, I had burns mostly and still do otherwise close to penn station which helps
Not sure if the diner is apart with the hotel but DO NOT GO TO TICK TOCK!!!! My boyfriend and I went there because we were both just tired and wanted something

I was distressed to discover that this hotel is owned by a cult, the "Moonies," AKA the Unification Church. I would not have stayed here, had I known. The check out clerk was incredibly rude and unhelpful. Other employees were perfectly polite. The hotel is dated and shopworn, but clean. The diner in the lobby is very handy. Excellent location.

My wife and daughter and I stayed here for 4 nights. 2 of the nights, my oldest daughter joined us for 4 people in our room. The beds are Full beds, not queens so not very big. After the first night, they took our regular sized pillows away and replaced them with basically throw pillows. On the 3rd and 4th night there was someone smoking cigarettes on our floor. On our last night it was coming in through our vent in our bathroom, so the smell of cigarette smoke in our room was very strong, like sleeping in an ash tray. The hotel has some floors that are "Dorms" for nearby Universities and not sure if that has something to do with it. On the good side, the location is great, near Madison Square Garden and close to Subway stops that can get you just about anywhere. The staff was good, although they never replaced our pillows with what we had the first night. However, the overall comfort level was poor, and the cigarette smells left a bad taste.

I really enjoyed staying here. Very friendly staff at check in and when exiting and entering the hotel. My room was tiny, but was totally okay for one person. The shower pressure was good. I liked staying at a place where you can see original art deco decor - as opposed to contemporary genericness.

The room was just what we needed for sleeping and then hitting the city again. The one big plus is the location within the city making getting to multiple location and back to hotel very easy. The bathroom and beds are very dated. All staff we encountered were very nice, security was a priority which is a big comfort traveling with kids. The in hotel diner was great with lots of breakfast options and we never had to wait.
I would recommend this hotel for efficiency but not so much for luxury. We came for the efficiency and had a great stay!

Not sure if it’s since I’m from California but this hotel was definitely not worthy of about 300$ a night price. I’ve stayed in better motels than this hotel.
Hotel rooms are very dated and full of rust. Bathrooms look more like public restrooms than a nice hotel bathroom.
The only pro to this hotel was the view of the Empire State Building.

The Wyndham New Yorker was centrally located near Penn Station with ready access via subway to Lincoln Center or via walking to Broadway. The Tick Tock Diner in the hotel gives you the authentic NY diner experience--great breakfasts and late night snacks. Great views of Hudson Yards from my room.

Fine place - good beds - a bit cold if heat aircondition is not on

It was pathetic!! Old and dirty and very small rooms. Also the hotel charged my card for more money after we left, stating taxes and fees. I was under the impression that I paid all fees on this website. I went with a group of people and we had a total of 5 rooms and everyone had a bad experience.

stay away.
Old room, no insulation in bathroom, freezing. Felt like the forgotten area of the hotel.

It was very nice the first day everyone was so nice and friendly the second day though my husband was coming in with a couple of other people who had a room in your establishment but they pulled him to the side to ask him to show that he had a room and that made my husband upset because he felt targeted.

The hotel is dark, very outdated and the shower didn't work. For the same money, you can stay at many other places which are far better.

We had an amazing stay at The New Yorker. The entire staff was great, the rooms were clean and the hotel is located in a really good area - which I found to be a benefit for my first time in New York.

It’s a historic property.. tiny rooms and bathrooms are without any vanity or even a shelf for toiletries
The only amenity in room is a clock. No coffee or fridge
The staff was friendly and property was clean just no convienences
Steps away from MSG! So that was helpful

location good, not a nice hotel, carpet torn, filty windows

Hotels.com is excellent but the New Yorker Wyndham near MSG is dirty, carpets worn out, walls drab, and overall an old dirty feel. Been to plenty in this area and this was one is the worst! Wont be staying here anymore it’s worth the walk to another hotel.

Requested extra toilet paper, conditioner, lotion, etc and it never came. Requested for our safe to be fixed and it never was. Walls are thin so could hear from floors above and hallway outside.

Great stay.Staff wonderful.

Better hotels available for a similar price. Small room, fridge randomly on the floor and very tired inside. Hotel charges $5 per bag to look after luggage after check out which is a first for us.
