Its a nice hotel. The lakefront view is nice but the furniture in the room is dated. The carpet was new, the bed was comfortable, the pillows and towels were fresh. The bathroom was clean. There is a restaurant although there is no complementary breakfast as advertised. The gym is just ok but the pool and hot tub were big and very clean too.

Rooms are outdated. Common areas were dirty. Got stuck in the elevator for about 10 minutes. Front desk person was friendly. Old food was in the refrigerator freezer which made it smell bad.

Nice hotel, great walking trails by the lake, hotel is clean, has bar and restaurant on site. I would recommend this and hope to stay there again someday.

I was pleasantly surprised, it was better than I expected. Check in was easy, room was clean, bright, bed was good, bathroom was clean and spacious. The view of the bay was awesome, fresh air and grounds were nice for walks around the bay. An added plus-the coffee in the lobby was wonderful!! A+

Could use a few upgrades…. Great location! Bathroom floor was messy with hair. We survived.

The property did not have breakfast as advertised. The lobby coffee was always cold as well. Staff were respectful but only activated one room key.

The front desk staff were very friendly.
We have stayed at Barker’s many times but we have never been able to hear people in the next room. This time it seemed like the walls were paper thin. The beds were not comfortable and I had sand on my sheets so I slept on the top sheet. They didn’t look dirty, just felt sandy.
The restaurant was busy but we had a really nice waitress and the young man who seated us was very friendly and helpful. The food was good.

This place is so outdated. The beds are hard and sag in the middle. The refrigerator was so dirty i could not use it. The floor of my room was dirty. The alarm clock next to the bed did not work. There was black mold in the corners of the bathroom.......I could go on.

The room itself could use some upgrades .
If your over 6ft tall the room will seem small but the view out the windows makes up for that .
The lounge is roomy with good sevice and great view of the marina.

Nothing special but it was nice. Big pool area is nice. All the staff was great. Especially the dining staff.

Doors to buliding were broken and not secure. Hallways smelled awful. Dirty rooms, garbage under beds.

Very outdated, room was dirty (hair all over shower, floors had crumbs and dirt all over)
Both back doors were broken. Someone could just easily walk in. Cleaning staff didn’t come once in the 2 days we stayed. Pool wasn’t heated so swimming wasn’t great. We won’t be returning in the future.

I had read some of the bad reviews, and was a bit nervous before my stay. While the room was dated, it wasnt super dated. The only thing I didn't like was the cleaner spray they must use to cover up old cigarettes smell. It was very strong. The restaurant had amazing food, a bit pricey but it was worth it.

The room was big and the bed was so comfortable! I felt very safe in the area. It was wonderful to be so close to the lake.

This property is just “getting by” on (what seems to be) previous ‘reputation,’ and location – it’s now run-down and dirty: there appeared to be mold in the bathroom; the heater/air conditioning unit has controls that the labels have completely worn off.
The room seemed big enough, but the lights were very dated. We didn’t try the pool.

The staff at night were extremely rude and our room was dirty. I would not even shower in it. The hot tub was cold and so disgusting. And it was extremely loud at night.

It was our 11th Anniversary had a nice time and look forward to returning someday!

We stayed on a Monday to save some money and this hotel was on the low end, and on that we were ok with our stay.
Now if we had to pay the weekend prices we wouldn’t be so happy but for what we paid, it was fine.

We left after one night and moved to another venue for the remainder of our stay in the area. Room furnishings looked like curbside pickup. One coverlet had an old blood stain. Bathroom fan came on with the light and was so loud it was difficult to use the space and woke a sleeper if anyone had to use the bathroom during the night. Faucet difficult to turn on and off and splashed water on the individual using the sink.

Cookie is amazing. We had dinner and breakfast and she took care of us both times. Food was excellent.

It smelled gross in the rooms run down the TV didn’t work as well as the blow dryer

Noisy neighbors. There was no bath tub plug.

I liked the island atmosphere, mattress was not comfortable, didn't like the strong cell chlorine smell in the hallway, did like the plug in accessibility by the bed.
