Smelled damp, rooms were dirty, and TV didn't have any signal. It was nothing like the photos. Can't recommend the hotel to anyone.

The property has a smoking smell and there is a working in the building at morning 6 AM and can't even sleep. They don't even have to use and throw toothbrushes or even mouthwash which is necessary in all the hotels.

Staff are always very friendly, rooms are great too.

Reasonable for price charge and staff were livening complaints not FUVE star but clean and nice enough and good people

There was lack of heating in the room and no heating in the bathroom, I dont think the heating in our room has been switched on for days as the thermostat on the radiator was turned to Zero, other Hotels I have stopped at ensure the room temperature is set before the guest arrive.

Wan't sure if there was an elevator, would be nice.

Very good value for money. Ticked every box - and especially at the price they charge. Cleanliness, comfortable bed, an excellent bathroom, Wi-Fi, TV, a very good breakfast (hot & cold) but most of all the service level. The staff here are good, however, truly 'above and beyond', in particularly (I hope I've got this right) is Barry? The most obliging, welcoming, helpful member of hotel staff I've encountered in any hotel in 30 years of business travel. This guy is an absolute key asset, and I do hope that the owners not only appreciate/recognise what he brings to their business, but that they look after him accordingly.

Old biding converted to hotel. Some of the rooms may be out dated. I have to request another rooms The hotel signage is not visible at night. Facility need general façade update.

It is so outdated it's unbelievable, You can't even stand in the bath, the shower is not hanging on the wall. It's all green, huge amounts of silicone to hold everything together. Not worth anything.

Served a purpose when let down by the hotel I had booked. Probably unfortunate that I needed to be in Lichfield not Walsall.

I had a nice stay here about 10 years ago and the photos on the website showed that it had been refurbished since then, so I booked it again for it's location and price as I was going to meet up with friends in the area. First impressions are not great. The entrance is at the side and looks like it may be temporary while there is work going on. The carpets are dirty and paint splattered. But the reception area itself was surprisingly ok. My room was on the first floor and the dirty, paint splattered carpets carried on all the way through in the corridors and in the room. There were positives though - the staff are really friendly; the bed was really comfortable with crisp white clean bedding; the bathroom had fluffy bright white towels and a really powerful shower; plenty of tea and coffee (but very small teacups; I asked for some mugs at reception which they were happy to give me).

The hotel is run down and looks like a knocking-shop. The third floor where I was is being refurbished and I was sent up through the refurb with plaster on the floor and building materials everywhere. I didn't feel safe. The staff were lack-lustre at best. I put the latch on my door as soon as I got to the room. The toilet hadn;t been cleaned properly when I arrived, and on the second morning, the water just stopped half way through my shower - absolute nightma. It wasn;t that it went cold - the water stopped coming out of the tap. Don;t use this hotel.

This dive does not deserve the title of hotel. Upon arrival, I was immediately confused because the hotel appears derelict with the entire front of the building locked up, signage removed and lights out. Around the back a small entrance can be found leading to a reception area. This is clearly an ex Mercure hotel but their labels have been shoddily covered with tape and stickers. The carpets are disgusting and the general decor is dirty and extremely run down. My room had had a standard Yale lock fitted in place of the key card but the door had holes Dan’s a simple metal plate covered the original lock area. My room has three lamps but each one lacked a lightbulb. The service was poor and my room was not serviced. Did not enjoy being in the building and staff were unhelpful. Mouldy and dingy bathroom. Fire doors held open with wedges. Needs closing down urgently.

The staff on arrival at the front desk was rude and in helpful. The general cleanliness of the hotel was bad. The room smelled of stale smoke. The shower head didn’t stay up and the pressure was awful. The tv didn’t have signal so no point having it in the room. No mention of any renovation upon booking or after or on arrival.

The building is externally in a state of real disrepair. On arrival, I thought it was unoccupied. And the whole surrounding area is untidy and has a feeling of abandonment about it. The rooms were OK (bathroom a little dated and needed refreshing) and TBF the bed was comfortable and the linen clean and fresh. TV didn't work properly. Staff were fine, but was kept waiting for 6/7 minutes at reception when checking in. Dinner is not available.

Just some feedback on the hotel from the last couple of days and a hope that you can sort me somewhere different for next week (I’d rather drive home the 4+ hours then back to Manchester the following day than re-stay at the Baron Court). The bathroom was full off mould around end of the bath and shower screen as well as on the grout on the tiles. The flooring in the bathroom had some of the grout (grey) replaced with white sealant Damp stains on the wall Wallpaper peeling off the walls and ceiling (probably due to the damp) No desk for working when I got back after the visit to Cwmbran and the Wi-Fi was not working (as well as the 4G being poor that I could not use my phones hot spot), I ended up sitting in the car to catch up on emails. On a plus not the bedding and towels were clean. Sorry for the above but I wanted to let you know so that you did not send anyone else there in the future. I do have some photos if you want them.

Easy to find located on a main road some fittings and fixtures a bit tired but overall value for money

Wi-Fi not everywhere

The hotel was tired with very dated decor- old fashioned in reception (patterened carpets and textured plaster walls) and messily modernised in the bedroom- unfinished paintwork etc. Windows in the bedroom didnt close, there was a punch hole to the bathroom door, the tv only had signal for limited channels, wifi wasnt available despite being advertised and the room was VERY hot with no temperature control (in summer). The saving graces were the comfy bed, cheap price and the welcoming staff.

Hotel was clean and staff were helpful. The building could do with some tlc though. Would use it again as shops and restaurants were within walking distance.

Considering our previous stays….my stay this time was lovely. I did mention to them beforehand about my stay before, so they gave me a lovely room. The bed was HUGE and it was really clean :) a lovely stay && thank you so much! I will defo be staying again :)
