No heads up about the renovations. Sheets of plastic hanging everywhere. The elevator was out our entire stay. Front desk rode the service elevator with us and our luggage to the third floor. It took two trips, the elevator was so small. My 72 year old mother had to walk up and down three flights of stairs where construction crews were sanding floors. The hotel itself is beautiful and the front desk girl was beyond pleasant. It just would have been nice to have a heads up about the construction noise and lack of elevator.

I’ve stayed at this hotel many many times. It’s my favorite place in Glenwood Springs. I highly recommend it.

This trip started out as a disaster! The Hotel was under major renovation. No one warned us that was the case. Apparently they were in an ownership change. Thanks to the EXCELLENT customer service of an employee named Hayden.. the stay was saved! First day and a half not so good the rest of the four day stay was awesome! All the staff was super helpful and understanding in a very difficult situation.
PLEASE !! Bring back the towel rentals for the hot springs pool… was a really nice feature you had in the past.

We were so excited to stay at the Hotel Denver! Then.... we arrived. The entire lobby was completely under construction! We would have not booked there if we had known but there was no mention of the construction zone. They had a folding table for the check in counter. The kid at the front desk was nice enough but he didnt even bother telling us that we could park in their parking area prior to getting into our room. We ended up paying $27 for 3 hours of parking that could have been validated by Hotel Denver. When we did finally check in, we had to unload our car, go park and walk completely around the main entrance into a side door with our luggage. Then we were charged a one time parking fee of $20 & a pet fee of $50!! Both of which were NOT listed on our reservation confirmation! Why a parking fee? We are staying at your hotel?? The kids at the front desk ignored us when we walked by as they were on their phones. The shower had hair all over it, the floors were clearly dirty, the bed was messily made, as if in a hurry & there was NO hairdryer! We would have called the front desk to request a different room but there was NO phone. The coffee shop was supposed to open at 6am, no one got there until 7:30, & we were told the oven was broke so no hot breakfast option. This was NOT worth the price.

We were so excited to check out this historic hotel, however when we got there the place was under major construction.

Hotel Denver is now Maxwell Anderson Hotels. Property is currently under renovation. We were there 1 night. Got there after construction hours and left before the construction began.

Nice classic hotel. Excellent service with modern updated room. Clean and comfortable. Walking distance to restaurants and shopping.

We usually stay at The hotel Colorado but we decided to give hotel Denver a try and it was a huge mistake. Overall the room that we were assigned was #306 and it was dirty we found hair under the sheets and left over pizza condiments on the floor. They are having construction that nobody new anout which made the lobby inaccessible. After a complain we were moved to a suite and it wasnt any better the watwr pressure was zero to none and the ned wasnt clean. Im sure they dont change the sheets from what we experienced. Overall I rate it a 4 out of 10. Dates stayed were 3/27/-3/28

We understand the hotel was under construction. It was frustrating though that I asked several times about the venue being wheelchair accessibility and was told it was accessible when it was not totally so. If the coffee shop wasn’t open, staff had to open it by special request. Sometimes this was less convenient for them to do so.
The rooms and beds were very comfy but not super clean. I won’t go into detail.
I would make sure the construction is done before you go.

Check in wasn’t straight forward cause hotel was under construction. Took forever to find parking initially and then once we found parking and asked the attendant where we could park, he told us about a couple of lots that we had to pay an additional $20 a night if we wanted to use them. Wasn’t happy about the hidden fee.
Once we were in our room, we needed a microwave to heat up our food. All hotels we stayed at before had at least a small one. Not this hotel.
The icing on the cake was how horrible the bed mattress was. It had huge divots in it telling us the mattresse was like 20 years old or something. That was the worst part. We didn’t sleep very well because of the horrible mattress. Everything else we could’ve look past, except for the comfort of our stay. We won’t be coming back to this hotel.

This place is going through a renovation. The main entrance is closed and you need to go through a construction zone to get to your room. The walls are very thin and you can hear the people next door talking.

The hotel staff was amazing and made the stay very comfortable!

Like the convenience of the place, it was niche and quiet

The central area of the hotel was an amazing attribute. I am sure the remodel will be nice, but it is an important piece of information to have when booking especially if you have an internal facing room. Facing and listening to a construction site is not an ideal surprise.

The whole building is under construction. Not something that’s listed on the add. it’s an older building so of course, things echo and you can hear everybody in every room. The restaurant that they advertise is under construction and no longer in business. There’s construction, dust and construction smells everywhere. Charging top dollar while they’re under construction is unacceptable. There is no parking whatsoever. The linens that we had are stained and there was dirt and dust everywhere in the room.

Hotel Denver is always a great place to stay. I was surprised this time that they now charge $20 per night to park in their lot. Luckilly I got a spot on the street, but I can see how that might cause an issue with the neighbors. Parking in the lot used to be included with your stay. The front desk staff are wonderful and the brewery has delicious food and the best Pilsner. Easy walking to shops and other restaurants. Nice area.

One night stay. The hotel is was under construction but that did not inconvenience our stay. The staff was great. Great location, very clean and charming. Excited to come back!

Location of hotel is great as you can walk to hot springs or places in downtown. We’re a bit disappointed that lobby area was under construction. You had to walk through the construction zone to access the elevator. Room was comfortable and clean. Would stay again.

I really wish we would have know ahead of time that the property was under major construction. We also booked a room that said interior view “which we thought would be a lobby view since they have rooms about the large lobby area. Our room had a window that we could not see out of at all because it was stained. It was a bummer that we could not see out to see anything. The customer service was good during check in and out.

Conveniently located in the heart of downtown across from the Amtrak station and the walking bridge to the other side of town. The room was spacious and well appointed. They are in the midst of an extensive renovation, so if morning/all day noise and paint smells are bothersome, perhaps look elsewhere temporarily.

The beds are too hard you need to add a cushioned mattress pad

There was someone with a bird that kept us up half the night, and due to paper thin walls we were kept up the rest of the night from very loud intimate activities. After explaining the situation and when we asked to be moved they told us we would have to pay more for the other room. Will not be staying again.

The lobby is under construction.

Lobby was unfinished, no breakfast of any type, no parking, room was tiny, no water pressure in the shower, no amenities to the hotel whatsoever for around 500 a night after service fees and taxes. Even if the lobby was finished, I'd never stay there again

Lobby completely torn up under construction, which was NOT advertised. It was fine, but part of what I was paying for was to see the beauty if the historic hotel. Instead, it was covered in sheet platstic and painters tape.

We really liked the proximity of the hotel to all the restaurants and shops. We also walked to the hot springs which was amazing. I was bummed that the uncovered parking was an additional $20 a night. The first night of our stay the clerk gave a guest the wrong room number so they were trying to get into our room at 11 pm. We were asleep and it scared the crap out of us. The front desk then called to apologize and they ended up comping one night. Overall it was fine.

This hotel is beautiful. I had a room with a fireplace, 2 beds and a kitchen.
The staff were friendly and very helpful.
The only thing I wish I had know was, they are remodeling. Having said that plan on being woken up bright and early to pounding and lots of terrible noise.
Don’t plan a quiet morning drinking coffee by the fireplace or an afternoon romance with wine.
If you are leaving early to ski and or will be gone all day, this is your hotel.
If you plan on doing anything during the day or sleeping in, call the hotel to make sure remodeling is over.
I would have stayed somewhere else if I had known.

Enjoyed our stay, especially the views!

The lobby was being renovated so there was dust and not welcoming when you first come in. But the room was very quiet and the bed comfortable. The views are beautiful. It’s a very old hotel so floors are uneven and doors are small but I love the antique feeling and high ceilings. Location is perfect. Will stay here again.

We did not know the property was under construction before we booked our room. Early morning loud noise due to the construction.

Lovely, renovated room. Nice bed!

We had a pleasant stay even though the hotel is under renovations at the moment - the associated noise was minimal and temporary and we didn’t notice dust in our room. We had a room facing the train station and it was very large (separate sleeping and sitting areas) and clean. The linens were in excellent condition and the bed was comfortable. Overall an excellent experience!

Great stay even though the Hotel is under a remodeling phase. Location is perfect (close to spa's, restaurants
). Will stay again and again!!
