It is really nice (although old) building with gardens. I really enjoyed my stay. Room and bathroom were both very spacious.

Lovely hotel is large grounds with large car parking area and excellent attached restaurant. Staff helpful and friendly, room clean and comfortable if a little dated. Bathroom lovely but water pressure not great. Nice burger in the restaurant where, unfortunately, a rather drunken couple were being obnoxious and offensive to staff but it was well handled.
Overall a good stay and I'd definitely visit again should I need to stay in the area

The room was nice, disappointed that the reception bar was not open, however the Gentleman on reception did serve us a drink one night. A good overall stay

For the first family gathering of its kind it worked out ideally for which many thanks.

Lovely place to stay, with very comfortable beds and one of the best English Breakfasts I've had in ages!

Room 12 needed refurbishment due to a damaged/stained carpet, paint issues and overall 'tired' appearance. Mentioned this on check out. Shower was nice though and the room was of a good size.

Some parts of the hotel were undergoing refurbishment, which meant we had to use odd routes to get about, but the staff were friendly, the food was great, and the room was spacious and clean with a lovely ensuite, so well worth the extra wandering.

Place was under going refurbishment. Good value stay for the overnight. Huge room, considerable bed, fast internet, good service

Paid for a family room, was then charged extra on arrival for the beds!
We were opposite the bar where there was a function on until the early hours of the morning, we hardly slept.
Broken tiles in hallway, daughter tripped on them and cut her knees.
Went to complain to reception and ask for an injury form to record the accident and was told a manager would call in the afternoon, and not to discuss complaints at the reception (presumably because prospective wedding guests were currently viewing the property).
Side plates only for the buffet breakfast, cold bacon, rubbery eggs.

Poor attitude from some of the staff asked to be moved cos of the nose from the heaters from the party tents they told me they would swap my room and didn’t second night there was a massive party and no Wi-Fi all the time I was there sorry but more interested in the party than the people who payed to stay there very poor behaviour from the hotel

The hotel is tucked away on the edge of Wokingham in a very quiet setting, great parking directly outside the hotel and free. My room was clean and well stocked with amenities but small considering the cost, £117 weekend rate but a lot more for weekdays. If l had paid £178, weekday rate l wouldn’t have been happy. Breakfast buffet was average, not a great deal of choice and a £14 each extra.

Now grounds and nice period hotel
The beds were comfy and area quiet on night. Had a good night sleep.
Bathroom could be updated and did not have a shower screen. But overall ok stay

We didn't get rooms like in the pictures.. we had more dated ones in a ground floor area near to reception. The rooms however were very spacious and had doors going out to the garden which was lovely. The bed was not comfortable, just 2 singles pushed together with a gap down the middle. The bath was quite hard to climb into for a shower, but the water pressure was excellent and there was plenty of hot water .. I was able to wash my long tangly hair with ease which was a lovely change! Kettle and tea provided but no fresh milk as no fridge that we could see. The breakfast was reasonable and priced accordingly.. I would skip the veggie sausage next time though as it was very dry. Espresso was extra and at £4.50 I would have expected freshly ground, but what I got was something of a crime against coffee! The staff were lovely and all in all it was value for money. We would stay again for one night for sure, longer I probably wouldn't bother as I prefer a pool and more veggie options at breakfast.

The hotel was lovely, but a little tired. Our room was very spacious, and comfortable, as was the bathroom. But the fixtures and fittings could probably benefit from renewal.
The surrounding gardens were lovely.
The Stables Restaurant is great for an al fresco lunch, and the breakfast was nice also.

Hotel was easy to find Parking was fine, with slow EV charging available within 100yds. On site restaurant was good and service was fine. Rooms were dated but clean. Dont expect a restful night. Its a popular venue for events, and the nights we stayed we were disturbed by the noise from adjacent rooms. We could here talking, toileting and copulating. Not great when you want a good night sleep. Phone in room didnt work, neither did heated towel rail.

I loved my room with a view. The ability to open a door to a small terrace with cafe style furniture where we could sit in the sun and watch the view gave much pleasure.

Really enjoyed staying. Room is nice and big - could do with some minor maintenance - but we had a good nights sleep.
We ate in the stables with our family - what a fantastic meal! Highly recommended (do a decent pint too!). Breakfast the next day was also very good - freshly made with high quality ingredients.
All the staff were friendly and professional - made us feel very welcome.
Would definitely come back.

Truely great service, the room size was amazing, spa bath had issues but once working was great, place could do with abit more of a detailed clean windows all had cobwebs on them (room 43) also ensure room keeping restock ok as both the still and sparkling complimentary waters were just empty bottles on the desk and only one glass, the continental breakfast was good… the fried breakfast tasted like the oil possibly wasn’t hot enough yet to do fried bread

Room and furniture a little tired. Windows dirty and cobwebs on door frame. Bath would not hold water as plug was faulty. No internet in room for duration of stay
Fulfilled our needs as didn’t spend much time in room Not four star

GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY STAY. OUR ROOM WAS MODERN, SPACIOUS AND CLEAN.

A lovely hotel, a little dated in places, but all adds to the charm of it. The restaurant and bar were really nice and the reception staff were amazing, welcoming and very helpful.

Waited at reception for 15 minutes before anyone turned up to check me in and then another 10 at checkout. Shower was stone cold and bed was very uncomfortable
2.0
Easy check in, very friendly and helpful staff. Unfortunately there was some kind of party going on which kept me up. I spoke to reception and they turned the music down but was later awoken by people shouting at 1.30am.
The room was also a little cold and the shower was impossible to get to the right temperature (either freezing or boiling hot)

Lovely hotel with lots of character, room was small but in good condition with a lovely walk in rain shower, the only complaint was when the heating went off it was cold, the bed was comfortable but the covers were thin. Food at breakfast was good but the staff didn't seem to know what they were doing, waited a good twenty minutes for scrambled eggs and when it got busy the food kept running out

My room on the top floor (no lift), smelt very strongly of paint but was clean and nicely furnished. However it was absolutely freezing despite the radiator being on full. The single glazing was draughty and stopped no outside noise. We’d been promised tv in the bar for the rugby but it wasn’t set up and the staff were unable to set it up.

Stunning country house. Beautiful decor and a comfortable well equipped bedroom. Evening meal was delicious as was breakfast. Exceptional service. Thank-you!

We had a lovely stay at the Cantley House Hotel. We went there for a family wedding and it was a brilliant location for a wedding. The whole event was at the Cantley Hotel and was absolutely wonderful. We would definitely recommend this Hotel to everyone.

My dog Georgie loved his stay and the sausages !!

Would not stay again even if I was paid too. The original room they booked me in was nothing short of disgusting and in no condition to be booked out for paying customers. Ripped stained curtains, cobwebs hanging from every corner, external doors unsecure with gaping holes and disgustingly stained headboard.
Staff/service was almost non exisitent. I was moved to another room which was adequate but still not great.

I booked a standard double however, i was pleasantly surprised that i had been upgraded to a room with a four-poster bed, lovely deep bath and a 65" smart tv. All for £72.00 with this site. The service was great. I would definitely stay there again. It was sooo peaceful.
2.0
The place is a great looking building, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the attached restaurant is nice.
However the double bed in the room was two not very good singles pushed together and not very comfortable. The room was also a bit dirty with stains on the wall, dust on the furniture, and a really dirty kettle (honestly I didn't even risk using it).
