An original harbor side home, renovated with modern decor, with a feel that is both vintage and fresh. Situated on a corner lot on the harbor with a spacious yard perfect for campfires, games, relaxing in the hammock, and simply watching the world go by. Ideal as a home base for exploring the North Shore, and as a sanctuary from which to contemplate the Big Lake, which is spectacular in all seasons. Very comfortable and well appointed. Fantastic view of Lake Superior right out of our front window. Owner is super nice and met us when we arrived. Easy walking distance to restaurants and shops in Grand Marais. A great location.

We had a wonderful stay. Knowing that the temperatures would dip below zero, our host put flannel sheets on the beds. This rental was clean, comfortable, and exactly what we were looking for. Too cold for a fire this time but next time I would love to sit by the fire and enjoy the beautiful view!

Such a perfect, cozy spot overlooking the harbor and RIGHT ACROSS from North House Folk School! We had everything we needed, including cozy bathrobes.

My son and I enjoyed were impressed by how clean the apartment was and the location was perfect. My son took a class at the North House Folks School which was only a block away and I explored Grand Marais and hiking in the area. Being able to walk around Grand Marais from the apartment was very convenient.

Wow! Talk about attention to detail! Such a wonderful home...very comfortable and nicely decorated! The host thought of everything....special local coffee, I am a tea drinker and there was an electric hot water kettle....close to town...easy access to shopping and the gun flint trail. Our host even set up a fire for us! Incredible views! Will definitely be back!

Host was really helpful and accomodating from start to finish. The location is perfect. They really went the extra mile with fresh flowers on the table and fresh local coffee grounds.

We had a wonderful stay - everything was very clean and comfortable (great beds!) and we had everything we needed. The beautifully laid fire in the fire pit was a great touch and we really enjoyed it. The location is unbeatable, with an incredible view. Highly recommended!

My wife and I have been going to Grand Marais annually now for the past six years. This year, we found this property right on HWY 61. Location is ideal! Less than a five minute walk to most GM locations. It was nice to be within walking distance of all our favorite spots, instead of staying in a bigger place outside of town. We missed having a dishwasher and a washer and dryer, but it was a good trade to stay in this location. We will definitely consider staying here again!

Charming home away from home complete with wonderful amenities … not a thing forgotten. From fresh flowers to robes and lux towels, all the owner’s touches were great. We would love to stay again!

I was traveling with 3 of my sisters and this couldn't have been a more perfect house. MaryKate greeted us at check in and made us feel at home. The house was charming, clean and had everything you could need in a home away from home. Great location to walk to restaurants, shops and explore Grand Marais. We also enjoyed an evening around the fire pit outside. An easy drive to nearby trails and local sights. Would highly recommend staying and I hope to be back again someday.

This is one of the best we have stayed on the North Shore. Great amenities, loved the automatic shades ! Also close to the lake and all of downtown Grand Marais is within walking distance. Would stay again, possibly next fall again.

We loved our stay at this home. We stayed in Gran Marais and drove up to the Canadian border for day trips.
It is centrally located, and you can walk to restaurants, a brewery, and craft studios. The view out the front windows is magical with the lighthouse, Lake Superior and seagulls. The host left us supplies for a campfire. Recommend this home and hosts.

Thanks for a great stay! The property was clean and very homey. There were lots of little thoughtful items that make life easier when on vacation...water, coffee, ice in freezer, and fans, to just name a few. We will be back!

We enjoyed our stay in Grand Marais and the house was perfect for us. We could easily walk to enjoy the shops in restaurants in Grand Marais. The view from the front window was perfect and we enjoyed using the fire pit.

Great location on the Grand Marais lakefront - really nice view and convenient. Communication was excellent and the place was just what we wanted for hanging out between hikes and outings. Would definitely stay again!

We stayed at the house for six days, everyday was wonderful. The kitchen was fully stocked (even with spices), there were beach towels to us and a ton of board games to play at night once we were done eating s’mores at the fire pit! The fresh flowers from the garden when we arrived in the houses really made it feel like home! If we ever end up in Grand Marias we will definitely stay here again! Thank you for making it a wonderful family vacation.

My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend getaway. MaryKate is a gracious host and made us feel very welcomed. She even set up the bonfire pit for us, which we didn't get a chance to use. MaryKate's home was lovely with beautiful views of the lake/harbor. The location couldn't be better! MaryKate had thoughtful touches like the firepit stocked and ready to go, fresh cut flowers on the table, and Fika coffee for the morning. There was also a stocked game closet that our kids really enjoyed.

My 2 daughters and I enjoyed our stay at this updated and charming house with a dynamite location! The owners made so many thoughtful decisions to make the rental feel cozy and comfortable. I grew up in Grand Marais and the view out the living room window is the best in town. Highly recommend!

The photos of this place don't do it justice. Its a lovely two bedroom location with great access to town. We walked to everything. The inside is nicely updated and comfortable.
The owner messaged and said they wanted to go over a few things before we occupied it. She was delightful and helpful with recommendations on the area and places to eat. She caught up with us the next day as well just to check in. That was very nice.
Overall a very good trip and hope to return again soon!

This place was so charming, starting with a wonderful greeting upon our arrival by MaryKate. We loved the location with the view of the bay and easy walk to so many awesome spots - easy walk to the point, Voyager Brewery, Angry Trout Cafe, etc - in Grand Marais. Kitchen space was perfect for two to dine in as well. Finished off our stay with a lovely fire that the owners set up for us the final evening. Loved our stay!

This place was phenomenal! As far as location goes, this place can’t be beat! Walking distance from just about everything in Grand Marais, and right along Highway 61 for a quick exit to other towns. The rooms were great, the hammock and fire pit were awesome, and the size was perfect for my group! Everything about this VRBO was perfect!

Everything in this listing was perfect! So many details were thought of and the hospitality was wonderful. Fully appointed kitchen, beautiful decor and a place for a fire outside at night. But the best part was the view of the harbor right out the window! If it hadn’t been rainy we could have walked anywhere in town. Just a perfect place to stay!

My family stayed here for Mother’s Day weekend & it exceeded our expectations. We planned to spend our days hiking in the nearby state parks and it was perfect for that. There are plenty of great restaurants in walking distance for the times we wanted to eat out, but were happy that the house was fully stocked with utensils for meal prepping as well. The house itself was so aesthetic but the view of lake superior is unbeatable! I would highly recommend staying here & the hosts were super friendly as well.

We so enjoyed where we stayed! The windows allow for wonderful views of the lake. We never moved our car. It was convenient for walking, shopping and dining and lake gazing. The place was wonderfully clean and well organized. Although on Hywy 61, the main drag, it was quiet. This place provided what we needed!!!! Special thanks to the host for their thoughtfulness and warm welcome.

I picked this rental based on location and a hope to be able to stare out at the lake. It did not disappoint. The view out the window was right out at the lake. Angry Trout restaurant across the street and all of downtown walkable. We enjoyed our time walking out to the point, shopping, and dining. Kitchen worked for our needs and the bedrooms adjoin with bathroom between.

Owner met us upon arrival and gave us a quick rundown, making sure everything was OK for our stay. Every room of the house was very clean and nicely finished, just as pictured. Easy drive to Lutsen Mountain and walking distance to dining and shopping downtown Grand Marais. The best part is the priceless view of Grand Marias Harbor, with breathtaking sunrises and sunsets. Wouldn't hesitate to stay in this gem again!

Great location, walk to everything. The fire pit, including wood was a nice touch. As was fresh ground coffee. Inside IKEA decorated with some unique items. Beds were very comfortable. No issues with anything. Will probably rent again.

My husband and I booked a long weekend getaway over our youngest son's school break and we decided to go farther up the North Shore than usual. It was well worth the drive. Beautiful location right across the street from Lake Superior. Stunning views out of our picture windows. The property was quaint, updated and well appointed. The owner was friendly and prompt in communicating. One of our older sons joined us as well and it didn't feel crowded. There is a beautiful fire pit that is well stocked. The small touches were very nice! We will definitely be back and highly recommend this location! Thank you!

We loved our stay at MaryKate & David's. They reached out to us before, at check-in, and after our visit which was very nice. The property is very cozy, clean, thoughtful, and in a great location with a perfect view. We especially loved the comfortable beds and getting to use the firepit. We would definitely stay again!
