This place is a hidden gem. We enjoy going to bed and breakfast places for our anniversary. We have been to over 20 and this is one of the best. Pretty amazing place all around. Great location to wineries, beaches, and restaurants.

I cannot say enough. This place was fantastic. We stayed at the red horse cabin and it was so peaceful and romantic. The innkeeper was wonderful and accommodating. The property was breathtaking and we enjoyed a snow filled walk to the pavilion and covered bridge. The endless snacks and coffee and firewood were an absolute fabulous perk, and the breakfast was so good. We can't wait to return!!

It was so clean and customer service was on top of everything !

The Estate is absolutely beautiful as are the surroundings. The staff is exceptional and helpful in every way. The property is remote and due to lack of transportation options, it is imperative to rent a vehicle. Taxi and Uber service are unavailable or ridiculously overpriced.

Our room was cozy and immaculately clean in a serene wooded setting. The breakfasts were delicious. They far exceeded our expectations!

Property is tucked away on a nice estate. Would be good for a group get away. Easy drive to the Michigan coast.

We stayed in the Morris Suite and let me tell you this is by far one of if not the best overnight experience I've ever had. Staff was helpful but otherwise left us be. The house and room were beautiful, the bed was very comfortable, and we absolutely loved the shower and tub. They even recommended dinner options that turned out to be superb. We will definitely be returning!

It is a very unique B&B as it has modern furnishings and very upscale. The grounds would be wonderful to explore on a warmer day. Cozy but large. Plenty of places to visit throughout the main house

It was clean and it felt like at home. Nice and friendly staff.

Drive down a half mile driveway through the woods to reach the house. The house has many rooms set up for you to relax either alone or with others. The views overlook the river and are spectacular. Perfect place to unwind. The housekeeper was wonderfully welcoming and made us a delicious breakfast in the morning. Can't wait to go back!

Gorgeous property and home. Comfortable, very clean, and well maintained. Well groomed trails were nice to walk along the river. Our room, the Ernest suite which I believe was the smallest in the house was still extremely roomy and lavish. The breakfast looked modest but was very filling. I hate to say anything negative about our stay, it truly was a pleasurable experience, I would recommend to the estate, if your going to offer top notch accommodations, please don't be frugal with the paper toiletries. The thin scratchy toilet paper and Kleenex were disappointing. We would stay again in a heartbeat in the future.

We have a new favorite place to take our family. Their Family Suite suited us perfectly! This is that rare B&B that welcomes children (albeit just this room).
The facility is just the right mix of private and quiet with an attentive and present staff. Debbie and her team rock.
WiFi is a bit wonky but that might be because the estate is huge. Just a heads up.
If you are thinking of a family getaway and are looking for an alternative to the typical Hiltons and Hyatts, try the Morris Estate.

The property is very secluded, next to the St. Joseph river, with nice walking trails. The entire estate is 800 acres, mostly forest with some farm land. The family that owns it is in the process of expanding the amenities, but it looks like the main, huge house will not be affected. My wife and I had the entire main floor all to ourselves for a day and a half. The renovations to this house is the best I have ever seen and I have done a lot of renovations, but not to this level. If you are looking for a quiet, calm get away next to a large slow moving river, this is the place.

Stayed for four nights at the Morris Estate in the River Suite (three free through chase points and one through hotels.com). This is by far the best place I’ve ever stayed on a trip. Staff were amazing and accommodating. Breakfast was cooked perfectly every day. Room was very spacious. We will definitely be back!

Cute little cabin in the woods, little kitchen and stove to cook on if you don’t feel like going out, plus you can use the common areas of the bed and breakfast home. They had a nice grill we used and a hot tub we did not use but it was available. Bed in the cabin was very hard and no tv in the cabin, but otherwise it was a nice stay.

Beautiful bed and and breakfast! Will definitely stay again. Location was a good starting point for our stops up Lake Michigan. Breakfast on the patio overlooking the river each morning was a plus.

One of the best stays I've ever had! Beautiful location, quiet and tranquil, fantastic and attentive staff! The breakfast was great (and they successfully adjusted to coronavirus precautions) and, when there was a power outage (due to storms) I texted the staff at around midnight and got a response within 20 minutes!!
The amenities were thoughtful and plentiful (thank you soooo much for the bug spray!) and, while some things weren't available due to coronavirus, I didn't feel like I lacked for anything. I really didn't want to leave, and I will most definitely be back!
My favorite aspect was the walkway along the edge of the river, and also the campfire pavilion (though I didn't get a chance to make a fire). Also, the gas fireplaces in each common room. Oh, and the fact that NONE of the suites SHARE A WALL with another suite!! Great for peace and quiet!
Basically, I loved everything. Recommending to everyone, and will be back. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

This place is a gem! The pictures don’t even do the justice of how amazing this place is ! It’s a huge mansion in the woods by the river , beautiful decor , super comfortable beds , my 8yr old son loved it ! The have a game room for the kids. Hot tub outside , snack and drinks that are complimentary. We loved our stay. Planning another trip back in a few weeks!

Exceptional property. Beautifully appointed and designed interiors. Exterior setting in countryside wooded area on bend of St Joseph River wonderfully restful. We stayed in the Red Horse Inn , an adjacent 1800strading post,a short walk fro the main house. If i could have transported the cottage back with us I would have. Decorated in spirit of the times but modern amenities and beauty. Fireplace with comfy chairs for reading, enclosed back porch for relaxing, River viewing , bird watching. Loft bedroom with snuggly comforter. Want to return. With close by chapel this would be fabulous wedding venue or just relaxing retreat.
