Bathroom was blocked. Never fixed in my 4 days stay. Shower not working properly. Too small. You can’t control air conditioner temperature. Bed too hard. Old pillows. Elevator super slow. Very old building but well placed in downtown.

Several times I have stayed at the Ritz when working in Matamoros. It is a quiet and comfortable place with a close restaurant. Both at the hotel and restaurant, the staff function in English with a little of my broken Spanish. Easy walk to street merchants and other restaurants. Pleasant. Clean. Polite.

Through this survey, I am formally requesting a refund as the room that was advertised on Hotels.com was not the room that I actually received at the Ritz. Had this hotel been located in the United States, I would have immediately commenced legal action against the Ritz, and against Hotels.com for breach of contract for failure to honor the implied agreement between myself, the Ritz, and Hotels.com when I paid for the room, yet did not receive what was advertised. The room expected was a standard room with one king size bed (as advertised in Hotels.com and displayed in the photo also on hotels.com) What I got was a room that was no bigger than my walk in closet, a bed that was much smaller than twin size, and furniture almost bunched together: leaving almost no walking space. When I advised the staff, they informed me that there were no other rooms available, and that there were no refunds available. Obviously, the room was not used due to the lack of walking space. This is the first bad experience that I ever had at a hotel in Mexico, but nevertheless, I would not recommend the Ritz to anyone due to the flagrant bait and switch. Furthermore, if I were hotels.com, for reputational purposes, I wouldn't accept further publishing from the Ritz because of possible exposure to civil liability

Geat customer service, the location was just ok. The breakfast was excellent and delicious. Staff very friendly, the room size was great, but overall kind of an old hotel, little smell because of the old building, but no problems at all with anything else. Bar environment amazing!

The property was fine. The fact that Expedia never sent over the federation was the problem. This caused an issue where it backed up a line of people waiting to check in on a busy Friday afternoon and the language barrier made things difficult to resolve, which in the end meant I had to make another reservation on the spot and pay all over again. Expedia not the easiest company to get a refund out of.

I had a great time here the front desk staff was awesome they helped arrange a taxi for me and gave me a great restaurant tips. It was awesome that there was a bar right in the hotel so I did not have to leave to get drunk.

Hotel was spotless, they advertise English speaking but unfortunately my Spanish had to suffice, my major complaint was the WiFi, I had to use the free open WiFi from the lobby which made working and communicating with family back home difficult. Room service was excellent and reasonably priced.

Clogged up bath tub was inconvenient; amenities should be upgraded, such as tub, sink and commode.

It was a great experience, room is very spacious, clean and comfortable. Parking is right across the street. Near downtown. walking distance from market.
