Cute traditional Swiss mountain hotel. Easy check-in (even though I arrive later in the evening) and checkout. Good standard buffet breakfast in the morning. Nice little bakery below the hotel. Good location to start a hike from (close to trails & public transport.
For light sleepers - remember earplugs (church bells in the evening and morning). The hotel was very quiet between 11pm-6am, most occupants were early risers so a bit of noise as people used the shared bathroom in the morning.

Wonderful, traditional-style room in a beautiful old building full of charm and cozy atmosphere. The smell of the local pine wood makes you feel like you're in a mountain lodge every time you enter the room.
Bathroom was on the small side.

The breakfast was lovely - especially the very fresh yogurt and the cheeses. My room was very clean and I had a big balcony that would have been great for sitting out with a glass of wine and watching the world go by if it wasn't raining. The restaurant was lovely and served with a smile - I had rosti with mushrooms and ham which I recommend. It is such a charming hotel. I would go back in an instant.
The wi-fi was funky but I think that is to do with the location of the hotel and not their hardware. I went into the bakery and it worked much better than in my bedroom

Good rich breakfast offer for European Standards. However, old and hard croissants were served. This is an absolute no-go!
Breakfast: Poor quality of croissants. I was expecting good quality as the hotel also integrates a bakery.

I had a great stay at the Klarer. I found the receptionist to be extremely nice and really helpful. She let me borrow an adapter for the evening and let me leave a small bag while I went for a hike. The hotel was very clean even though it was an older building. Breakfast was a standard selection of bread, meats, cheese, cereal etc. Would definitely stay here again.
I didn't mind but the door to my room was only 5' tall. Might bother others, but I didn't care.

Great location for finding places to eat/drink and going to the station, the cafe has a magnificent rage of cakes.
The building is very old, full of character but has been tastefully modernised and is therefore very quiet.
The restaurant was not open more than twice during our stay and closed at 1800, may have been due to a staff shortage (Covid)

We booked the "grand plus double room" for 3 people. Nice and cozy room, with wooden furniture, private bathroom, table and benches, TV, free wi-fi. Enough space to relax and enjoy your stay. We stayed also for dinner: various and tasty menu (for kids as well), very nice staff. We'll come back for sure.

The hotel has a wanderful character with medieval vibes, and the staff was very nice and helpful.
Parking was a bit of a challenge.

The big room “grand+ “ in which we stayed is beautiful , the kind of mountain wooden room you want to be in. Greatly recommended. The hotel is a typical beautiful Engiadin house with a well known bakery on the ground floor which you will love. Right in the main and peaceful square of Zuoz, Highly recommended

I stayed on 2 occasions in March 2021 for some cross-country skiing/winter hiking in Engadin. The Klarer is a very old hotel with a lot of character and is great value for money. The evening cuisine is very good and so is the breakfast. The staff are very friendly and helpful
I was there in the winter season and could not understand why the hotel did not clear the thick ice from the street in the entrance area to the hotel. I had a lot of trouble negotiating this ice every time I entered or left the hotel but luckily did not break my neck! I subsequently did an evening tour of Zuoz on foot and noticed that this dangerous ice is actually a feature of the whole town!! So it is possibly a local custom, designed to keep the local orthopediatricians in business during the winter!!

I went to Zuoz to try out the famous langlauf pistes. I deliberately picked a budget single room with external bathroom. Perfectly comfortable. Hotel dates from 16thC and retains some interesting features. The restaurant and breakfast were both very good, as was the evening meal. They have Itinger Klosterbräu beer on draft at a good price! Staff were very friendly and helpful.
The only complaint I would have is the fact that the entrance from the street was a sheet of ice and rather difficult to negotiate. Gravel would have been better than sawdust. I nearly broke my neck twice!! This of course, would not apply in summer!!

Central, clean, family friendly. I recommend this place and I surely comeback next year!
