We couldnt get in at first because we hadnt received the email with codes. But it worked out. We brought our dogs so we checked out the fenced yard and was dismayed at how fence was coming apart. I used quite a few pavers to stop up holes. Had to brush the dogs a lot to keep the grass seeds out of their coats. Men came and mowed the front but did nothing about the grass or rag weeds in back.

Roaches all over, dead and alive. Advertised parking for 4 vehicles. No way. Couldn’t even pull 3 small vehicles and no parking legally on the road. Code didn’t work upon entry had to call after hour service. Left message about parking with no response so called next day and they acknowledged advertising wrong and offered us to park vehicles at their facility, far away, and have someone pick us up. Behind Trash can there was a capri sun container, chairs all had dog hair, floor had dirt. Not clean at all. 2 trash bags for 4 day stay.

Everything worked fine, enjoy the quiet neighborhood close to beach and easy to quickly get to restaurants or stores. Laundry and extra refrigerator, spacious bedrooms and living areas all are a plus, along with the fun decor throughout the property. Very comfortable beds.

This house is very clean, comfortable, and conveniently located. The bedrooms and bathrooms are large. The kitchen is extremely well-stocked and the cabinets are even labeled. It has a nice fenced backyard and a doggie door. It has hoses to rinse the sand off when you return from the beach.
I would have liked to rate this home more highly, however, there is some basic maintenance that should be done. The grill in the backyard is so rusted out on the bottom that the charcoals fall through to the ground. The ash bucket was completely full from previous occupants' cookouts. There is no wastebasket in the master bathroom. The screening on the covered cabana out back is ripped and the electricity to the cabana doesn't work so you can't use the lights or ceiling fan. The debris that falls from the palm trees in the backyard makes the outdoor table and chairs unusable--the back deck and furniture should be powerwashed.

This was the cutest home that we have ever stayed in on the island. Silver Sands is a top- notch rental company. They are very responsive, which is the complete opposite of the Port Aransas Beach House Company, and we will continue to use them in the future.

We had a great time at this cute beach house. Location is great and the house is bigger than expected. Back yard is perfect for dogs. Over all no complaints everything was great.

PROS: Overall, the house was a bit weathered, which is OK, being very near to the beach and its elements. It is very spacious, nice refrigerators x2. Washer and dryer worked extremely well. The bedrooms x2 were very spacious and had a total of 5 beds. One king two doubles and two singles. Two full baths which was nice. There were enough dishes and pots, pans etc...
CONS: the floors were very dirty and there was no broom or mop to be able to sweep or mop. We would have done it no problem, but all we found was a dirty makeshift type of mop which did not work. The living room couch was also very dirty and we needed to put a sheet over it to sit during our stay. The back porch which is enclosed and advertised as a nice morning or any time hangout was totally filthy and unfit for anyone to spend any time in it. The grill was also very filthy with grease every where. The house fans were also very dirty that we had to clean each one to prevent us from having dust or any particle blown on top of us. If someone is being paid to clean this house he or she is stealing the payees money. Small details like mopping and sweeping should be obvious to the customers as soon as we walk in the house. I paid a cleaning fee of which I believe should be reimbursed considering how dirty the place was. Actually we left it cleaner than we found it.

I've taken a summer vacation with my family for at least the last 10-years through Silver Sands Vacation Rentals in Port Aransas, TX. The condos and homes that we've stayed in are always better than described with wonderful amenities and clean units. Always a perfect 10 with Silver Sands Vacation Rentals!

The bungalow was cute and the right touch of beach. Located a reasonable distance to the beach. AC worked well. The TV was difficult to figure out how to work and did not have regular TV. Was able to figure it out eventually but not something I want to spend my vacation time trying to do. The internet service was patchy at best. Chalked that up to being by the coast. No shade on the second bedroom and used a pillow. Had to sweep the floor day one and the debris, along with used soap still present made it obvious the maid service had not recently cleaned. Further, one pillow had blood on it under the pillow cover. Gross. Roaches were in all the rooms and crawled across the ceiling in the spare rooms as well. Fleas in kitchen and living room but did not seem to be anywhere else. It would have been nice to have some covered containers for left over food but that was easy enough to care for.
All this said, I enjoyed my stay and if the above items addressed would possibly stay there again. If not, not someplace I would recommend.

There seems to be a disconnect between VRBO and the management company.
We booked this property, because we looked for one w/a hot tub. It was listed as having a hot tub and pictures show the property with a hot tub. However there is no hot tub.
When I booked, I listed 5 guest. Once I was contacted by the management co. They had only on guest listed.
When I booked, I listed 3 dogs. Again when contacted by the management co. They had no dogs listed and said only 2 dogs allowed. $50.00 per dog. I confirmed it would be just the 2 dogs and the co. Charged my $150. For 3 dogs. Guess they can’t do the math and follow their own rule. (Working on that with them)
While the kitchen, baths and bedrooms were very clean. The rest of the house was not. Furniture was beat up and done actually broken. Patched holes in the wall. Windows were filthy and the outdoor covered porch was just gross.
Check in was at 4. We arrived at 5. The door code we were given did not work and the management co. was closed. Called the after hours number and got vm. Left a message. Got no call back. Called agin 15 mins. Later and was given a different door code to enter. Finally got in at 5:30. Hot, tired snd frustrated after a long drive in!
Once we entered the house, we were hit with a musty, moldy smell and 2 guest with allergies question being able to stay.

Cute as a bug house with fenced yard for our pups! Everything you could want for a comfy stay and even has a washer/dryer!!!

The dogs were thrilled to find a dog door that led into the fenced yard. The cottage was cute and convenient to everything. The screened porch was helpful during our one cold, rainy day. Wifi didn't work but we didn't want to spend time trying to figure it out.

We loved the location of this property. It was very convenient to everything we wanted to do while in Port Aransas. If you are going to stay here, be aware that you should bring your own towels. They gave us ONE hand towel for four people ... me, my husband and our two adult children. One bath towel per person, two dish towels and four washcloths. That was it. No spares. We had to wash towels every day. Fortunately there was half of a bottle of laundry detergent left by a previous visitor. I called the SilverSands office to ask for more towels and no one ever answered. Also called the emergency number, same result. Another recommendation: bring dishwasher soap and dishwashing liquid. This is in short supply as well. And remember to bring soap for the bathroom. They did not supply this either. The yard was great for our dog as it is fenced and clean. We loved the screened in porch and the deck was nice. Bottom line: we liked the stay and had a great week of family togetherness, but the unresponsiveness of the property manager will keep us from ever coming back to this house or any SilverSands-managed property again. I recommend spending a few pennies of our rental fee ... buy some extra towels, offer a decent-sized bar of soap for each bathroom and a few extra dishwashing packets. It saves your guests extra trips to the IGA. We do plan to return to Port A - it is one of our favorite vacation spots - just not to this house.

Very comfortable house for a few days at the beach. Not fancy but well-equipped—everything we needed. Quick golf cart drive to the beach or to town. Quiet neighborhood. Good response from the host agency for a couple of small issues.

It is what you would expect from a beach house. We enjoyed the backyard deck as there was no need to use the screened in porch in March. I am sure it comes in handy during the summer months. A few things are needed. There were no kitchen towels so had to use bathroom hand towels which were in short supply. The beds were just OK and the pillows need an upgrade as well. Overall, the house is fun and different and we enjoyed our quick stay very much.

Delightful stay in a cozy cottage. It’s as cute as the pictures posted with a well supplied kitchen and anything you need. The screened in porch was a perfect spot to hang out and reflect on the day. We are already planning our next trip to Port A and a stay at Fin do Mundo!
