Oh my the Manager Tutt and his family were Awesome! And as a family of 8 we were demanding yet the Manager was able to make all of our accomodations.. Patient to. The residence was very , very Clean. SAFE. Open and spacious. The staff always prepared fresh. hot meals everyday. The upper floor overlooked the spectacukar hillside view of Valley of the Gods. I enjoyed watching the Sun rise and set each day from the beautiful Egyptian style roof top. I highly recommend this residence.

I must respectfully disagree with the 5-star reviews and I’ll be fair with the good and the bad. The PROs: the hotel is fairly new and the room are large and mostly clean. The CONs: it’s not remotely close to anything, no restaurants or services. Even local tour guides and taxi drivers cannot find this place!! The owner charged 5x the cost of a Careem(Uber equivalent) to get us from the airport. He was way too pushy about having us book tours with him, which we didn’t do because booking online with Viator or other agencies was far less expensive. He wanted us to pay for dinner (again, very expensive by local standards) and the airport transfer only with US dollars, for which he can exchange on the black market. He very reluctantly accepted Egyptian currency, which the law says he should do. The hotel also provides no shampoo or conditioner. The bare minimum of towels. Even though there’s a kitchen, there’s no pots or pans. Even when shampoo was requested, he wouldn’t provide it. So chintzy! I cannot recommend Royal Mountain to other tourists. It’s a hassle to find, very far from the East Bank where Karnak Temple is, and most restaurants. The owner is cheap and money grubbing.

In our nearly 3 weeks around Upper and Lower Egypt, this hotel was the only one where we woke up to birds chirping! If you want a good restful sleep and away from the hustle and bustle, this is the place. The price to quality ratio was probably the best we experienced in Egypt as well, the hotel is very new and the rooms are huge - we had a large living and dining room, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom for just the two of us. As you are on the West Bank, it is perfect for all the main sights in Luxor and you can space out your trip without having to rush. Note that if you stay in the East Bank, it is minimally 40-50mins one-way to the West Bank and the sights all close at 4/5pm. Amazing view in addition to the quietness - you can see the mountain which houses the Valley of the Kings from the rooftop restaurant and your room. We didn’t use the tours offered by the manager as we had already visited many of the main sights as part of our Nile Cruise and just wanted to take it slow. However, if you are travelling on your own it can be helpful to use the tours offered by the hotel, as it can be difficult to hail cabs on the West Bank, especially in the evening. Also, many cab drivers don’t know the location of this location (despite me telling all of them you can see it on Google Maps, just follow the directions). Long story short, we had a very peaceful stay at a super affordable price and would highly recommend this hotel as a base for your adventures in Luxor.

Royal Mountain Hotel was amazing. The rooms are fabulous and spacious and has everything you need. The pool is such a nice bonus. The price point is excellent. The best part is the service. The owner and the guy making our breakfast were so wonderful, honest, personable and caring. The view on the rooftop where you have breakfast is out of this world. If you wake up early enough you can catch the sunrise behind the mountains and all the hot air balloons rising. It’s absolutely magical. I can’t recommend this hotel enough.

Family of 5 adults with a short stop over in Luxor to see the sights. Arrived mid afternoon to a great welcome from our host and a lovely home cooked lunch on roof terrace. The hotel is quite new, rooms are spacious and clean and the pool was very refreshing after a day in the hot sun. The hotel is perfectly placed in a new development area on West Bank close to Valley of Kings etc. Note, based on the description on Expedia we booked two triple rooms for our 5, but as it turned out each of the rooms was a suite comprising 3 twin bedded bedrooms, lounge, kitchen and bathroom so we could easily have made do with one suite, so worth checking! The proprietor also acted as our tour guide allowing us to pack in much more than we could have had we organised it ourselves - and over the course of an evening and a day we had a sunset Feluca, visits to Valley of Kings and Queens etc, Karnac, carriage ride around Luxor, meals transport in air con mini bus and back out to airport, a fantasitci use of hte limited time that we had.

The property owner, manager took care of us from very beginning, starting from warm welcoming at the airport through a professional tourist guide, till completion of our tour by ending at the airport through dropping off there. It was very nice experience being there as a guest of the property. I had my family of five members with me. The property owner/ manager was so helpful that can not be described. Before we arrived in Luxor, they answered all of my queries, they helped me to get the airport shuttles, all types of suggestions and many more. He arranged my full complete package of tours at Luxor and Aswan. And the package was very successful. Tour guide attended us full time, car driver was very experienced. Roof top breakfast and dinner was amazing. I love to visit there next time. We wish to take the advantage of their hospitality in the future again.

We drove from Cairo to Luxor. It was a 9 hrs. journey, and we arrived very late, 4 Am at the Royal Mountain Hotel. Khoduray, the manger of the property was so kind to guide us thru our driving until we reach the hotel at 4 AM. The next day, when we woke up, the breakfast was served on on the rooftop. It was an amazing view of the entire valley of the kings from the rooftop. It is so peaceful to see those mountains. We booked 3 suits, for a family of 6. Everything went perfectly with our stay, the rooms were very comfortable, just like our rooms. The breakfast, lunch and dinner were all prepared fresh, and it was authentic Egyptian dishes. Khoduray ensured the ingredients were fresh sourced from local market and were cooked from scratch. He arranged for our guided tour that included, the visits to the valley of the kings, the Karnak temple, Luxor temple, the Nile flukas(boat ride), horse chariot ride around the Luxor market, and local shopping. Although it was a brand-new hotel but everything was very professionally managed. I would highly recommend this hotel when you travel to Luxor.
