Beautiful scenery, sea views from the large porch, you can walk for 2 minutes to get lovely views of Dondra Lighthouse (Sri Lanka’s most southerly point) across the bay and it’s a short walk to Dondra Lighthouse and Dragon’s Head (where there is a lovely restaurant - Dragon’s Mouth). You can easily see local wildlife from the porch including monkeys and bee eaters. The hosts were lovely, very accommodating they helped with wifi, organising breakfast and getting to the bus station. We booked two rooms thinking it was a family room but you actually got the entire house (one bedroom had air conditioning and the other a fan). The house was spotlessly clean and it was very homely. Dondra seems to be less visited by tourists but is very pretty - some nice things to see (beaches, lighthouse, rockpools) and good bus links to Matara then on to Mirissa and Weligama etc.

Nothing, but some things to be aware of: If you are walking to the accommodation, the house is just behind another at the end of the street so be careful not to miss it! A helpful person directed us to it. The wifi wasn’t great but the host tried to help with this. This was one of the more expensive properties we stayed at but it was the entire house, you got amazing sea views and were close to Dondra Lighthouse so it wasn’t really a negative.

To preface it, we originally booked for one night but ended up staying for 3 nights. Room: Spacious, clean, enough storage space, comfortable mattress with nice smelling linen. Bathroom: (next door, not attached to room) clean and stylish with hot water. Activities: The owner took us around to show us around the temple, Devandara Lighthouse and two private beaches. Rest is highly recommended. Food: Our tongues got a chance to taste our meal from the Sri Lankan kitchen prepared by us. Location: We felt very comfortable and relaxed in this quiet area in front of the Indian Ocean. We realized that this area is ideal for relaxation with sea views. The owner's friend Priyankara arranges the necessary. (Tip: He arranged a good safari for us with accommodation at a reasonable price) Host family: they live 200 meters from the house, kitchen equipment and living room can also be used as ours. I couldn't tell earlier that there is also an extra room.This fits 6 people with all the house to connect a bathroom..

It's a nice place with friendly people. They do their best to give you a comfy and home feeling. I'm the second guest, so they are still in the try-out period. And they do it well! The owner brought me to a place for the breakfast and he brought me to the busstation. It's allowed to use the kitchen. Enough equipement. A good big bed. Everywhere it is super clean! The vieuw from the house is great, ocean vieuw. Its a short walk to 2 beaches, 1 even in a few minutes. Short walk to the lighthouse, to the harbor and just 1 kilometre to the center with a beautiful temple. The owner's friend (Priyankara) will assist you after booking immediately. The location is a 10 minute walk to the lighthouse and the city centre/temple. A relaxed retreat guaranteed by gracious hosts. Amazing view and good breakfast. There is a beach near the lighthouse, 5 minutes walk, I advise, clean, not crowded on weekdays, the lighthouse has a beautiful view.
