Our price did not include breakfast. So N/A. I loved the views of the bay! I loved talking to Roberto, who helped us check in even though he was a mainentance worker. We arrived in Hurricane Agnes and even though things were difficult he helped. This is a basic B without the B. If you want more pay the higher price and stay in the main building.
Well, the B&B pub/restaurant that was supposed to help check us in was closed because of the Hurricane...so no help. In fairness we wanted to checkin early because of the hurricane. It was not clear how to check in. Thank heavens for Roberto! The location was beautiful right by the bay with a beach. We did not use the beach as it was cold and stormy in the end of September. The drive to Coastguard lodge is only about 10 minutes to town centre but a portion is a one lane road. This American driver was not comfortable driving these roads but we encountered many in Ireland,

location beautiful
narrow room, steep upstairs

Lovely location by the coast, right next to bar. Comfortable beds, solid walls, good shower.
Tv remote not working, toilet roll ran out, no soap in shower, no tea making facilities.

Wonderful location right on the bay.
Has a toaster and water boiler, but bring your own tea or coffee. The staff is very friendly, and it is close to many beautiful sites!

The room was spacious for sole occupancy. The Italian maintenance-man/room-attendant was very courteous and efficient; he fixed the bedroom window's curtain pole so that it no longer crashed to the floor when I attempted to open/close the curtains. Fiona was efficiently courteous in responding to my communication via the Booking.com app.
1) My bedroom wasn't quiet due to the noise coming from the bedroom directly above. For example, one evening around 11pm I was awoken by noise akin to a herd of elephants stampeding around the bedroom upstairs. Given that 'Elephas Maximus' is not a species native to West Kerry, I deduced the noise was coming from the late-night activities of the Continental European couple and their two young children (3/4 years old ) who were in the room directly above. Children will be children and we've all been there but I wonder why as a paying guest should I have to endure the disturbing cacophony of a parent roaring at children and the sound of their children crying as a result of being slapped. Therefore, the Coastguard Lodge needs to invest in improving the bedroom sound-proofing; for example, a starting point would be to cover the bedroom's bare wooden floorboards with rugs and/or carpet.
2) Most mornings the woman-owner of the catering business served breakfast; she could improve the customer experience by learning a few basic phrases in the Irish language (Gaeilge). Many guests were attending the week-long Gaeilge (Irish language) courses nearby and at breakfast conversed using Gaeilge (Irish). When the woman serving breakfast was addressed in Gaeilge she would reply loudly, bluntly and curtly "I do not speak Irish". If she had replied "níl an Gaeilge agam" ("I do not speak Irish") then that would be a welcome affirmation. The Coastguard Lodge is in the heart of the West Kerry Gaeltacht (area designated by the Government as Irish speaking) and therefore I strongly believe it is incumbent on the owners of the hospitality business to demonstrate appropriate support for the Irish language.

I loved the little beach on the doorstep!
Staff were friendly, especially the girl serving the food.
Good range of food on menu in the bar (though not much vegetarian).
Drinks reasonably priced.
Clean.
Very remote location.
Extremely basic accommodation....although clean I didn't feel comfortable enough to use the shower.
Lodge has zero sound proofing and all the other guests were very noisy.

Nothing!
Hard to check in! Couldn’t find the front door! Ended up finding a way in and came upon an open closet with mattresses stacked. The place looked filthy! The housekeeper tried to call someone to help us and no one answered. We were taken to the BAR to check in. This facility is 20 minutes by car from town. Total disaster. It didn’t appear safe and we did not stay here!!! The people were rude when we told them we weren’t staying there! We also had a really hard time finding another place to stay!

Fiona was so so sweet and super friendly, giving us tips for what to visit in the area. The beach is right outside and we swam every morning which was wonderful. It was nice to have the private entrance to come and go as we pleased without disturbing anyone. Genuinely such a special place and the food in Tigh TP was perfect after a long day of travelling or exploring. The taxis to Dingle were cheap and always on time, be sure to ask for a taxi number before you get there as they are hard to come by unless you have one like we did. I was with my two girl friends for a low-key, chill 6th year holiday and it suited us absolutely perfectly. The room was lovely and the beds were super comfy. We'll definitely be back!!!
The only small downsides was that it was a little difficult to get in touch, it wasn't an issue once we arrived so don't worry if you can't get in contact, the place is perfect. It might also be worthwhile to bring a towel for the beach as while you are given a towel, it's handy to have a spare as there is not a fresh towel every day. It wasn't a major issue at all, we just know to bring one next time!! Overall, it was all amazing.

Do not be fooled by B and B. It’s a hostel. And seriously sub standard in absolutely every way.
Dirt. Grubbiness. And zero feedback when I asked for same. The remote control of the Telly was soooo sticky from dirt.

great location, close to the beach, pub that is part of it offers good food and desserts. It's ok for single night and the price fits. After a long hike bed, shower and food is necessary and you'll get that.
older facilities, window couldn't open, ok for one night.

The bedroom was drab. Radiators rusty, towels looked old .very small TV. Flat pillow. Nothing appealing about the room. Very expensive for the state of the room.
We didn't stay and booked in elsewhere

Nice welcome from Fiona even for our late arrival.
Big room and bathroom. Beach on the other side of the road. Very clean.
Two of the four beds had awful matresses. It is urgent to change them. Only two big towels. The third adult had to use a small towel. The shower head needs to be changed as well. Does not work properly. The window had no curtains (missing / broken) and we had to use one of the towels to darken the room. The breakfast was also not included. Once those points are fixed, the price of 120 Euro might be justified. Currently this accomodation ist overpriced and was sadly the room with the worst value for money during our road trip through Ireland.

Sandy, a little seaweed, nice pier
Easy location and parking, 15 min drive from Dingle town

Basic, clean rooms with good bedding. Wifi worked well, and there was hot water in the shower.
It was difficult to find at first as GPS mappers didn’t show exact location. To be clear, check in was at a bar in front of the guesthouse rooms.

Great location, with a beach out front and a cliff walk with spectacular scenery. Lots of the locals who drop into the bar are Gaelic-speakers, so that was an added bonus as I was staying there attending an Irish-Language course in nearby Ballyferriter. Bar staff and owner very friendly.
The kitchen staff accepted an order only to forget about it. Soon after taking the order the kitchen closed, so they just didn't tell me, and closed up anyway. Moral of the tale: order food well in advance of 9pm.
