From walking in the mountains to exhilarating watersports or just a gentle cruise on a steam-powered yacht, Cumbria is the perfect holiday destination. Town: On Cumbria's west coast, St. Bees is a historic seaside community with a Norman priory, an Elizabethan public school, a store, a Post Office, and a few old-fashioned taverns. It is the beginning of the renowned Wainwright coast-to-coast walk and a great starting point for exploring the western Lake District and Cumbrian shore. The only significant sea cliff between Wales and Scotland is St. Bees Head, which is also Cumbria's only Heritage shoreline. There is a nice beach nearby, and there are lots of beautiful hikes you can take along the cliffs, which are also the location of one of the most significant seabird colonies in England. The community also has a nine-hole golf course.
