About this villa rental

🏠 Welcome to Casa La Copa de Oro, nestled between the charming towns of La Cruz de Huanacaxtle and Bucerias in Mexico! Just a short 25-minute drive (taxi ride) from PVR airport, our oceanfront Villa offers the perfect blend of traditional Mexican design with a touch of conveniences. Here you will take in a simpler life… if you are lucky you will enjoy sites of some of the largest iguanas, relax with sounds of local chickens (a Roster or 2) in the area and maybe… just maybe a donkey or two, a horse here and there walking on the streets. You will be able to find a little getaway of escape with us. As, our Villa is nested of the beaten path… yet close enough for a short taxi ride to either Bucerias or La Cruz within a 3-5 minute taxi ride. Once you step into our casa, you will be greeted by an updated kitchen. Accommodating up to 8 guests across three bedrooms, our spacious traditional Mexican retreat promises relaxation and enjoyment on the shores of Banderas Bay away from the Hustle of normal life. With a private pool and direct beach access, you can unwind against the backdrop of the famous Banderas Bay with view in the distance of the surrounding pueblos (towns). Explore the 25-mile coastline, discovering hidden gems and unspoiled beaches to the North, or take a leisurely stroll to Bucerias or La Cruz's marina when tide is low. Experience the vibrant culture and atmosphere of "traditional Mexico" with a dash of todays conveniences in the Mexican Riviera. In La Cruz, shop at the outdoor fish and farmers market or sip drinks while watching sailboats come and go. To the south, the bustling town of Bucerias awaits, offering a plethora of restaurants, boutiques, and authentic Mexican cuisine. Don't miss the opportunity to indulge in handmade tacos or sample churros from the Centro de Bucerias, just a short taxi ride away. Whether you prefer taxi services or renting a car, exploring the Bay of Banderas is an experience of a lifetime. Please note that our small neighborhood, the Tizate Villas, consists of seven villas. Local laws require the yard and concrete path to be shared common areas for villa guests to access the beach, so feel free to use the steps at the seawall to access the beaches and bay. We invite you to make memories at Casa La Copa de Oro, where the sun, sand, and sea await your arrival! 🌴☀️🌊

The house and grounds are great. The pool is not heated but was generally warm enough and quite big . The beds and linens are great and there are plenty of towels. The owner and house manager are both quick and responsive. Accessing the bay is not straightforward. To get to the beach you have to either go around the complex and down some steep rocks or you need to go through to the neighbours property and cross their patio and yard. While it is legal, this made us uncomfortable especially if the neighbours were outside. I asked the owner if the beach is swimmable since this was very important to us. He told us to wear water shoes but that it was. It is not. There are large piles of slippery, baseball size rocks to walk over to get out far enough to swim. We worried about the waves throwing us into the bigger rocks. We tried a few different spots but in the end we went to Bucerias to swim. The owner said the rocks were brought in by a hurricane a few months ago but it appeared they have been there for much longer than that. And the roosters were indeed relentless. There were no noise canceling machines in the rooms during our stay. We rented a car. It is close to Bucerias and La Cruz but found it so much easier to get around especially because you can’t just pop into a shop. Beware added mandatory insurance when renting a car in Mexico though. For my 60th birthday I wanted to sit in a pool, have a drink with my friends and look out at the sea. Mission accomplished!

We enjoyed our time at the house and would come back and stay again in the future. Both the owner and manager were very prompt in responsiveness to any issues we had during our stay and made things right if we were inconvenienced. The sunrises are gorgeous, but unfortunately you don't get the sunsets from the property. The yard is an amazing place to relax, soak in the sun, and stare at the water. The house is in average condition for its age but perfectly useful. It was our honeymoon so it was just my wife and I, but the house is large enough for a family or two to vacation together while everyone being able to have their own space. The roosters across the street are loud and loud early. We bought a white noise machine and that seemed to help drown them out. We did have to leave the doors closed at night with the white noise machine to sleep which was one of the only unfortunate things. We would have enjoyed falling asleep and waking up to the waves crashing and the sliding glass doors open. We were able to get connected to a couple of cab drivers while there and never had any issue arranging for a cab no matter where we were headed or what time we needed them. The towns of Bucerias and La Cruz are 5 minute rides so enjoying the towns was no hassle. Its a charming place. It has its perks and it has its downfalls but a good value considering the space and the views.

Firstly the owner and property manager were extremely helpful with any questions or requirements. You won't find better people. Oceanfront with a good size pool, spacious rooms with large beds are the pluses. If I had to choose a negative it would be the location if you want to to do a lot of beach walking or walk to nearest towns of Bucerias and LaCruz. No swimmable beach near and only walkable at low tide. However certainly not a deal breaker . It fit our needs perfectly.

We booked the property for a vacation with family of 6. Owner was always great and responsive during communication and also when we requested a couple of additional days. Check in and departure were exceptional with property manager Jesica. She was also very responsive and accommodating. She even helped us with a great Mexican dinner one night as a chef friend of hers was in town! Positives: -Big unit with lots of room in quiet neighborhood -1 room, 1 bath and the kitchen have been renovated -property manager and owner are great -wifi was good for mexican standards but poor range upstairs -great sunrise -sounds of waves in 2 of the bedrooms at night -ceiling fans and a/c were great -bedding and sheets were great -overall cleanliness was good Negatives: -rest of unit needs renovated, unit showing it's age -southeast facing so no sunsets and not much sun at pool from mid afternoon on -transportation can be painful if relying on cab, the street leading in doesn't have a name -hot water was hit and miss -roosters close by in neighbors compound wake you up Overall for the price, i'd be looking somewhere else...I know it's tough to find a decent place for a family of 6. This suits the need but would be better at a lower price. I'd rate it as a 3 star property with potential of 4 if all renovations complete. The area is a 3 star because of the transportation issues and roosters. The property owner and manager 5 star for great communications and accommodations of our needs.
