A simpel hostel with a bug problem,but nice staff and a social vibe, free water and snacks

The staff is nice and are really making an effort to create a social vibe at the hostel. The hostel is near to 7/11, a gym and a walking distance to markeds and allot of eating places and more. I would recomand you to rent a bike and explore the island

Ants, spiders, mosquitos and several bugs are coming in because there is opening between the walls to outside. There is allso a gap between the roof and the wall to the toilets (exept one single toilets downstears) so you`ll hear everything, get little privacy and get the smell around the rooms of the hostel. The bugs bit me in the night. Having that said: I heard people extended and really like to be there because of the social vibe.

Nice stay for a good price

It is perfect, when you want to meet (young) people. You can walk easy to towncenter.

Günstiges und soziales Hostel

Wie viele andere auch, habe ich erst ein paar Nächte gebucht und immer weiter verlängert. Die Atmosphäre im Hostel ist einfach wunderbar. Man kommt gut mit anderen Reisenden und Mitarbeitern ins Gespräch. Die Betten sind aus Holz was super ist, keine lauten Geräusche wenn man rein klettert, Vorhänge wären jetzt noch super! Am Abend wird häufig zusammen was vor Ort gegessen oder getrunken, man kann sich aber auch zurückziehen. Bin und würde immer wieder kommen :) Grüße an Tahsin und Team!

El hostel está a 15 minutos caminando desde el puerto, cerca hay un 7 eleven y el night marker. Las clases de yoga y lo que había para comer en el desayuno sumaron al gran ambiente que se vive allí.

Perfekt um sich die Insel anzuschauen und nicht im größten Partyhostel zu sein.

Man hatte viel Privatsphäre, der Außenbereich war schön zum sitzen, man hatte Zeug um sich auch was zu essen zu machen. Morgens wurde Free Yoga angeboten und es gab kleine Snacks zum Frühstück.

Die Toiletten sowie die Duschen hätten etwas sauberer sein können.

The hostel was very successful, both with its free yoga classes and the delightful morning treats. The rooms were quite spacious according to island standards. I regret wasting my time in other hostels.

La ubicación

Que te cobrarán casi 50€/noche por una cama en una habitación que no tenia ni una sábana para taparte. Los baños estaban sucios las dos noches que estuve, en la ducha había un bicho enorme muerto y ni se molestaron a quitarlo y los Wc ni te cuento. El recepcionista no hablaba inglés con lo cual nos explicó nada y menos (me enteré por una compañera de habitación que hacían clases de yoga). Sinceramente, si el precio fuera 5€/noche la reseña sería otra, por mucha isla o full moon que haya más que una estancia ha sido un robo.

Perfect place to connect with people and with great value for your money.

During my trip to Ko Phangan, I had the pleasure of staying at a place that exceeded my expectations. The staff's genuine friendly and attentive, combined with the hostel's prime location in the heart of Ko Phangan, make it a standout choice for travelers. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed by a warm and friendly atmosphere. The staff went above and beyond to ensure guests had a comfortable and enjoyable stay, offering local insights, organizing engaging activities, transfer to places (e.g. pier and scooter rental place) and creating a sense of community among travelers. The hostel's strategic location allowed easy access to Ko Phangan's stunning "center", and vibrant nightlife, making it the perfect base for exploration. The communal areas provided ample opportunities to connect with fellow travelers, and the accommodation, in my case a shared room, was both comfortable what you would expect from a hostel. In summary, my stay at this Ko Phangan hostel was exceptional, and I can't wait to return for more great moments in this great little island!

I think this hostel is perfect for solo travellers, because there is a very open en friendly atmosphere in the hostel and people are very open to connect with others. The owner of the hostel is also very friendly and makes you feel very welcome!

The best hostel I have ever been to

During my week-long stay (2 days were planed , but I enlongated the Stay) at barsay hostel, I had an incredible experience that exceeded all my expectations. The owner, Tashin, truly made my visit exceptional with his warm hospitality and genuine care for his guests. Every morning, I was greeted with delicious muffins and coffee, starting my day on a delightful note. In the evenings, Tashin went the extra mile by offering popcorn, adding a touch of comfort and indulgence to my stay. What impressed me the most was Tashin's thoughtfulness in ensuring that visitors had a convenient and memorable experience. When it was time for me to depart, he kindly offered to accompany me back to the pier on his bike, making sure that I had a hassle-free journey. His personal touch and attention to detail truly made me feel valued as a guest. Overall, my time at barsay hostel was nothing short of remarkable, thanks to the volunteers and Tashin's exceptional hospitality. I would highly recommend this place to anyone seeking a delightful and memorable stay. The combination of comfortable accommodations and Tashin's genuine care for his guests creates an inviting and welcoming atmosphere. I cannot wait to return and create more wonderful memories at this charming establishment.

It was a comfortable and easy stay. I would recommend.

I stayed here for quite a while and I felt really comfortable at the hostel! All of the staff was really helpful and friendly and there are good communal appliances we can all use at the entrance of the hostel.

Only small thing was that the WiFi connection in my room was not very strong but I still managed to do an everything I needed to do in the common area.

Can’t be better!

I was so surprised when i see owner wake up early every morning and make some bakeries for all guests.I think he loves his work .and I was so grateful for the hostel's travel desk. The staff helped me plan my activities and provided useful tips to make the most of my time on the island.True adress to feel at home.

Peace in the island

I have seen many hostels in my life, but I have never seen one as clean and peaceful as Phangan Barsay. Everything was perfect, from its location to the staff's attentiveness. It's an ideal place for long stays. Unlike other party hostels on the island, it's one of the rare hostels where you can sleep peacefully. I can't wait to come back next year.

There is nothing bad in this amazing place.
