In 1890, wealthy citizens living in the city centre created Ómátyásföld, where villas had been built under strict rules and used as summer residences close to the city centre. The name Villa Giulietta is a tribute to them. The villa was hit during the Second World War, and traces of the hit can still be seen on the roof of the building.
