Indulge in a cozy cocktail while you conversate with friends by the fire pits. Our 11 comfortable suites are the perfect place to unwind after a day of vineyard hopping or attending a wedding or event on-site. Be our guest! The property holds a rich history that traces back to its original owner, Dr. Charles Everett. This esteemed physician had the honor of serving as the personal physician for not just one, but three American Presidents: Jefferson, Madison, and Monroe. However, it was his close friendship with Thomas Jefferson that truly shaped the legacy of the estate. Together, they would venture from their separate residences in Charlottesville, Monticello, and the Belmont Tract to this very location, formerly known as Upland Manor. It was here that they would find solace in the serene surroundings and revel in the bountiful opportunities for hunting and fishing. We gladly paid homage to the esteemed Dr. Everett by bestowing his name upon the estate that now stands as a testament to his incredible legacy. While the property has changed hands multiple times throughout its history, its most recent iteration was as a thriving Bed and Breakfast called The Mark Addy Inn. Renowned for its exceptional accommodations and on-site restaurant, The Mark Addy Inn fostered a sense of community in Nelson County for countless years. However, under new ownership, the inn embarked upon a meticulous and respectful restoration process completed by Becky Seager of WKNDR Design in Charlottesville, culminating in an opulent boutique experience that can cater to up to 125 guests for weddings and events. The rejuvenated design not only pays respect to a bygone era, but also reflects modern sensibilities by showcasing an array of vibrant and unique guest rooms, elegant common areas, and a complete revitalization of the surrounding grounds. These elements are masterfully intertwined through an enchanting color scheme and recurring patterns, ultimately creating an ambiance that captivates guests and transports them to an enchanting era of the past, with a contemporary twist. We have a 24/7 monitored guest hotline that guests can call or text at any time with questions. For an additional fee, whole home renters can request staff to be on-site during normal business hours for light tidying of the common areas and being present in case there are any questions. There is a separate office on the interior of the home that remains locked when our staff is not onsite. There is another office area in a separate building that will sometimes be used by our crew, too. Located conveniently along Nelson 151 in Nelson County Virginia and the Blue Ridge Mountains!
