Great location on the seafront. A local bus was handy for trips and the glass museum was absolutely world class only 15 minute walk away

When we arrived we greeted warmly and from there it was just a lovely experience! Beaut location right up against the ocean, great breakfast (no problem responding to dietary reqs) good facilities and amenities (books in Eng and JP, lots of tea and coffee, clean and new showers etc), and comfy beds with fluffy duvets.

Hanami Guesthouse is a traditional japanese house with big washitsu rooms. There's also rooms with western style beds. The house is equipped with fridge, microwave oven, kitchen, common space... Everything you would need. Yoko-san is extremely nice, friendly and helpful, and her breakfasts are always delicious, made with care and different every day. よこさん、お世話にありがとうございました!いろいろすごかった!
PS: If you come with car -needed in this part of Japan- there's parking space one minute walking from the guesthouse.

Great Location for Dolphin Smile trip. Take bus from BUS STOP on the right side of Wakuraonsen Station (when coming out from station) by showing the text as shown below:

We'll get off at the Kouda Kouen mae.
We want to go to the Guest House Hanami.
Cost 520 yen about 20 minutes
The host served japanese home cook breakfast from 7am to 9am. Very nice and delicious. Nearby can find dinner at MoMo Restaurant closed at 11pm. Do bring fast food from convenience shop because most restaurants nearby close early around 4pm.

Yoko is an extremely friendly and always helpful host!
Her breakfast every morning was always very tasty, always more than enough but never the same!
The rooms and bathrooms were very clean.
We kind of felt like home at Yokos place!!!

The lady was friendly, well spoken in English and very helpful. My partner is vegan and the lady adapted the breakfast really well to accommodate her.
The view from our traditional Japanese room was over the bay with crystal clear water. Bath, shower and toilet facilities were modern. It had a nice shared lounge and it had a basic kitchen and facilities so people can make their own food easily.
Our room neighbors were taking calls at 11pm and the walls are thin so we could hear everything.
We weren’t sure if the miso soup for the breakfast was vegan however everything else (a very generous sized breakfast) was delicious.

Superb location on the sea front. The house was very clean and well equipped. The traditional Japanese bedrooms are very spacious with an excellent view. The breakfasts were excellent and generous. Yoko the host is very friendly and kind. It is a very quiet rural location by the sea and a good base for touring the Noto peninsula.
The wi fi was limited.

sleeping on the ground (tatami) was not very comfortable

great location with free parking. nice view from the room and spacious. we had a private sink in our room. great value: we paid about 11,000yen for one night for 2 breakfast. staff was diet accommodating, provided us vegan breakfast. bathroom and toilets are spacious and new. kitchen and lounge area are very relaxing spaces. free drip coffee and tea were nice.
would have given 10star but we didn’t feel comfortable to sleep on the floor with very new tatami mats. with single mat (shiki futon) it felt hard and my husband and I had an uncomfortable sleep. across our room there was a western style room which may have been a better option for us and I would have asked to switch there if we stayed longer.

This is one of the nicest places I have ever stayed. Yoko, the owner and host is warm and friendly but also gave me my private time and space. She lives in a separate part of the house. At the same time, she made me feel welcome in her home - it was the perfect balance. I learned so much from her - I am so interested in local culture and environment and sustainability and she shares many of my interests - to be able to talk in English to someone who knows so much about traditional cultural practices in a rural setting was pure gold for me. The breakfast she cooks is easily worth the entire cost of the stay. She made fresh bread, fish, pickles, vegetables, miso soup, tea...more than I could eat. I don't eat chicken or beef or pork and she was happy to accomodate me - I am sure she would provide great vegetarian food if requested. There is a shared kitchen that is very well supplied with kitchen appliances like a microwave, grill, stove top, coffee maker, rice cooker and fridge as well as all the cooking utensils and pots etc. She sells some snacks, alcohol and her home made plum sake. The area is beautiful. Notojima is stunning. Go there and plan to cycle, or walk, or visit the hotsprings (20 minute cycle ride to the nearest one) which is excellent and inexpensive. If you want lots of restaurants, night life, shopping - this is not the place for you. If you want peace, seaside, rockpools, friendly neighbours and great food with Yoko, then this is ideal.
Truly it was all exactly as I would want if I could have dreamt it up. Nothing could have been better. There is ample parking at the wharf which is a 1 minute walk away...its all fantastic.
