Situated in San Casciano Val Pesa, this charming cottage for R 2,670 per night is a great option for your next vacation. Situated in a strategic position halfway between Florence and Siena the castle S. Andrea a Cellole is within easy access of all the most important tourist sites, yet immersed in the quiet of the countryside where the birds sing and in the hot summer evenings the fireflies glow. Far from major roads and motorways the only sound you will hear is the odd tractor ploughing the vines. What better way to spend a relaxing holiday in our mature garden , taking a dip in the large (12X6 m) pool and sunbathing on wooden sun loungers with mattresses, lunching under the shady pergolas or just sipping a glass of wine, or perhaps reading a book under a shady tree. With both Florence and Siena little over half an hour away by car what could be easier than sightseeing the wonderful art treasures that Tuscany has to offer, returning in the latter part of the day to enjoy a quick dip before dinner in the garden or a foray out to one of the many typical restaurants in the area… of which still very good value. Cottage Murlo is a spacious two bedroom cottage for up to four people. Entering on the ground floor through glass doors from the garden is the spacious fully fitted kitchen /dining /sitting room. Upstairs are two large bedrooms, one twin and one double with high beamed ceilings and terracotta floors. The bathroom is ensuite in the master bedroom, and has a bath and shower. Exterior Facilities BBQ / Garden / Garden Furniture / Parking / Swimming Pool Exterior Details The large 12X6M swimming pool is situated in the garden facing cottages Murlo and Polvereto and is equipped with loungers and chairs, there is a stone built barbecue and all the cottages have their own patio with pergola and are furnished with teak garden furniture. Free Wi-Fi. Fan in bed room. No hidden extras only local tourist tax 50cts per person per day to be paid locally. Having travelled extensively we can honestly say that our stay in Murlo cottage was one of our very best self-contained experiences ever. Marzio and his wife Elena are the very best hosts. Nothing was too much trouble for them and Marzio had all the information at hand for us or knew how to find it out.
The cottage was clean and comfortable with everything we needed for a lovely stay. The staircase was a bit of a challenge at first but soon we were up and down it like mountain goats! The swimming pool was lovely, especially after a hot day sightseeing around Tuscany. The BBQ that we had as an added extra that Marzio and Elena catered was DELICIOUS and it was entertaining mixing with other guests.
All in all our stay was perfect. Be prepared for a narrow unmade road for the last section before arrival, but if you drive according to the conditions it is not a problem at all. It is definitely well worth it.
We will recommend this accommodation to anyone we hear is travelling to Tuscany.

Charmantes Objekt in wunderschöner Umgebung
Unsere Ferienwohnung (2-stöckig) war für uns beide für 10 Tage Aufenthalt ideal. Sie war sehr gut ausgerüstet und gemütlich. Wir haben täglich draußen unter der Pergola, mit herrlichen Blick, gefrühstückt und den toll gepflegten, großen Pool sehr genossen. Ideale Lage für Ausflüge nach Florenz und Siena. Marcio, unser Wirt, hat uns sehr freundlich, ausgiebig und exzellent beraten (bzgl. Weinprobe, Schuhkauf in Florenz, Parkplätze, Restaurants u.v.m.). Wir kommen gerne wieder.

very enjoyable stay at Cottage Murlo
My husband and I had a fantastic time visiting Tuscany and staying at Cellole and Cottage Murlo. The location is simply perfect, providing a quiet respite each evening after seeing the local sights during the day. Located in Chianti, vineyards, restaurants, and amazing hill towns (Siena, Volterra, San Gimignano) are all very close. The owners are full of a wealth of information and provided us with many welcome resources--setting up restaurant reservations, wine tastings, and driving/parking suggestions. Marzio was so very pleasant and helpful. I wholeheartedly recommend this vacation rental--we hope to return someday soon ourselves!

Wonderful holiday
We stayed for a week mid-September and it was fantastic! The location is perfect, rural but within easy reach of Siena, San Gimignano and Florence. The property is spotless and stocked with everything you need and the owners couldn't be more helpful. Thank you Adela for a wonderful, we"ll be back

Wunderbarer Ort mit zuvorkommenden Gastgebern
Wir haben die Woche in Montespertoli genossen. Das Anwesen liegt sehr abgeschieden auf einem Hügel. So hat man einen wunderbaren Blick auf die Umgebung. In der Wohnung fehlte es an nichts, der Pool war eine willkommene Abkühlung und der außen liegende Eßplatz hervorragend beschattet. Das Grundstück ist groß, bietet viele Gelegenheiten zum Verweilen. Die Gastgeber sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und immer ansprechbar. Einziger Wermutstropfen für uns: die großen Hunde der Familie, die zwar freundlich und nicht ständig präsent waren, für unseren Geschmack für die perfekten Ferien aber verzichtbar wären.

Wonderful relaxing property
We stayed here for a week during a three week touring holiday in Italy. Adela, Mauro and Marzio made us very welcome but without being intrusive.
The location is away from the main roads but by no means remote from a selection of restaurants within a 15-20 minute drive, and all major Tuscan attractions are easily accessible.
Relaxing in the peace and quiet of the beautiful grounds with the excellent pool was a real highlight of our holiday overall providing the perfect balance to some of the busier locations we visited.
We look forward to returning when our travel plans next take us in this direction.

Lovely off the beaten track romantic property
For those who want a romantic away from it all stay this property is superb. Beautifully restored by the owners with a lovely outdoor pool and only two other guest properties it really was perfect for us on our honeymoon. Within easy travelling of Florence, Siena a car is a must but in terms of relaxing this was perfect. The owners are very helpful and happy to recommend any visits, restaurants that you may require. All in all a stunning break and highly recommended.

Incredible Stay - Incredible history - Perfect location in Tuscany
This is a great location to experience the beauty of Tuscany. People interested in history find this place even more interesting and mystical. Check out the history on their website. Owners did an incredible job restoring the beauty of this place. The entire family lives on site , so it so convenient to seek their advise. They are very helpful and knowledgeable and for us it felt like we were with family. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and family members. We loved our 5 day stay. Tuscany is my favorite place in Italy!!!!

Sehr freundlich, aber mehr Schein als Sein
Als wir ankamen, schlug man uns vor, in das vorne gelegene, kleinere Apartment zu ziehen, es sei so cosy. Naja... positiv: das Haus liegt wirklich ruhig. Die Vermieter sind sehr freundlich und der Blick ist einmalig. Negativ: der Weg ist eine Schotterstraße und das Haus liegt wirklich weit draußen, die Räume sind extrem klein. Die "2 Badezimmer" entpuppten sich als ein schmales Bad mit WC, Bidet und Waschtisch, das zweite Bad, das nur durch ein Schlafzimmer zu erreichen ist, ist eine winzige Duschkabine. Für zwei Wochen sind die Schränke enorm klein, so dass wir aus unseren Koffern lebten und nur einen Teil hängen könnten. Das Schwimmbad war nicht geöffnet, da wohl irgendwelche neuen Bestimmungen gelten, die noch nicht erfüllt wurden. Internet ist eher sehr, sehr langsam und fällt manchmal aus. Der Fernseher ist so klein wie ein Laptop-Display und bietet (trotz angeblicher Sat-Anlage) ausschließlich italienische Sender. Das Wohnzimmer liegt so, dass jeder, der daran vorbeigeht (wie die Vermieter dies jedes Mal tun müssen, wenn sie weggehen oder wiederkommen oder auch nur in die Olivenheine gehen oder auch alle anderen Personen, die hier wohnen oder arbeiten), durch zwei Glastüren direkt hineinsehen. Es gibt keine Gardinen oder Rollos, mit denen man eine Privatsphäre am Abend generieren könnte. Die Möbel sind recht einfach, der Herd einigermaßen und der Toaster verfügt über keine Abschaltautomatik (was schlicht gefährlich ist). Insgesamt waren wir dennoch glücklich, was aber eher an der schönen Aussicht, der wunderbaren Toskana, dem herrlichen Wetter und den wunderschönen Städten und Dörfern lag....

My husband ,son and I recently spent our summer holiday in Cottage Murlo in S Andrea a Cellole. I had chosen it because the priory looked so beautiful in the pictures but when we got there the reality was even more idyllc. If I could have imagined the perfect Tuscan hideaway , this was it but more so. The priory itself is absolutely stunning , really beautiful , and each time we drove back to it I loved catching a glimpse of it on the hilltop as we drove up the little roads towards it. What I loved just as much was being in the pool and being able to look out at the views between the trees across the valley.
What I particularly liked was how private it felt. This was partly because of the location , but also because of how few guests there are there at any one time.
The cottage was absolutely charming . It had a really authentic feel to it , not just the old stone walls in the bedrooms but also the lovely Italian furniture. The bedrooms were particularly stunning where I expecially liked Maurio's artistic flourishes.
Apart from it being a beautiful place to stay , what really set it apart for us was the location. It is so well placed for sightseeing. We were able to, for example, go and have a good look around Florence or Siena in the morning and be back "home" in time for a swim in the afternoon. We visited Florence , Siena , San Giminagno , Vinci and Pisa in the time we were there without feeling we had spent half our holiday in the car.
Adela and Maurio were delightful hosts and for me struck a perfect balance between being there with advice on anything from the best way to drive into Florence and where to park , to suggestions of places to visit and restaurants to try, but also leaving us to enjoy our holiday as a family. Adela booked a local resturant for us one evening and it was fabulous , really lovely local food and not expensive.
I would absolutely recommend S Andrea a Cellole. I don't believe anyone could not be charmed by it and we certainly hope to return ourselves.

Perfect Relaxing Holiday - Beautiful Tuscany!
Chose this property after reviewing lots of others on the net in Tuscany. If you want a secluded location, ideally situated close to Siena (stunning!), Florence and San Gimignano then I'd recommend this property.
It has a lovely pool area/outdoor space and the apartments are very nicely furnished.
There's only a few apartments, so you get the pool almost to yourself - its like having your own villa in Tuscany!
Adela was an excellent host and very knowledgeable about the local area so she was very useful for tips on where to go/eat etc.
Can't wait to go back!
