The location
Outdated rooms. Carpet was gross. Too expensive for a mediocre room. Smelled horrible.

Location was great and central to where we wanted to go.
The room was not very clean and the water pressure for the shower was not good at all. The water barely came out of the shower head. One of the elevators was being renovated or reworked. However the elevator was available for use for guests. (probably should have been closed for guest access). Overall not good value considering the price. Very disappointed as we were really looking forward to staying here.

Everything — room very quiet.
Need new pillows..the ones on our bed were pretty worn..too soft.

The location was perfect as I needed to be close to USC for my daughter. There were several dinner choices close by within walking distance. Comfy beds, rooms very clean.
Parking was 16 bucks. Seems like a pricey expense. The pool closed at 8pm which seems rather early.

Probably the best location in Columbia!
Parking was a bit tight. Coffee maker broken?!?! Not the best breakfast.

I booked a Whirlpool room and when I got to the hotel I learned that I wasn’t getting that room. Just a simple king room which I didn’t want. Then the first room that’s the desk receptionist gave me was dirty. It was towels everywhere and the e beds were unmade.

Nice clean hotel in a great location.

Room wasn’t that clean (shower) and bed was hard and sheets hard also.
7.0
proximity to venue
needs more updating and beds were squeaky and lumpy

Great location, clean and stocked
a service attendant at the front kept telling everyone in line to not be drunk when coming back from the concert and calling us youngins'. I'm 33 with children and know how to act at hotels. I think there's a better way to tell (who you think may be drunks simply because they look young) to be respectful and considerate of others. Just seemed inappropriate. Just check in guests and try to avoid irrelevant conversations, especially when there are long lines.

Staff was friendly and courteous.
There was a bit too much noise from the main road for me.

Excellent location downtown and convenient walking distance to University of South Carolina. Surrounded by restaurants and easy walk to the State Capital building.
Typical chain hotel breakfast. Not as good as some less expensive hotels.

Spottily clean, great location in the old part of town, close to restaurants (although the one across the street will need reservation). Nice surprise was the complimentary happy hour (wine, beer, popcorn, cookies). Breakfast was very good; additionally, there were brown-bag breakfast packages ready for the guests at check-out. Very courteous staff.
Although still comfortable, walls are paper thin - so, depending on how loud the guests next door are, that could be a problem - we had two guys next door chatting, but thankfully they did not take too long to go to sleep. You can hear the traffic outside too, as daylight comes. There’s a parking fee, but all hotels in the area do; this one was a little cheaper than others.
Tub was clogged and there was no body lotion, which most likely was an oversight since all the rest was perfect.
