Stay for the view, not the service

I loved how this place was right on the beach! I only had to walk a few hundred feet to enjoy the waves. Out on the balcony you could hear the waves crashing. It's also in walking distance of food and coffee.

When we checked in the staff was so so. The attendent wasn't sure what was still open to eat. As a front desk associate, guests expect the worker to have knowledge of the local area. The associate also seemed more bothered by our questions than trying to help out.

The room wasn’t clean, the bath didn’t have a plug and shower head was loose/poor water pressure…hot water in sink was scalding.

Superb

The beach was right at our door step. And we ate breakfast right next door. We had a little time to walk on the beach. This was because we were in the parade. We did get to bar hop a little.

most perfect family weekend getaway ever !!

amazing sweet helpful staff …they remember us from previous visits ♥️so sweet to grandkids .. attached restaurant has amazing food n drinks AND staff as well. ease of beach from room awesome. plus love sitting on the rooms patio watching sunrise it’s the perfect getaway 😎

Loved the location, the staff was SUPER friendly, the room was nice and clean, the facilities were great!

Our room was next to the deck facing the beach. Door is heavy so every time guests came in or out, it slammed and woke us.

A beautiful place by the sea…only wish it were comfortable enough to sleep there.

the location is fabulous…the room was so clean, the staff was all so nice…I love the restaurant attached….

the bed was so hard, even the sheets and waffle textured bedspread was so hard, the pillow wouldn’t even bend. The doors were so loud with other people leaving their rooms and the doors shutting automatically. The nights were long and sleepless.

Would definitely stay again.....no real need to go back to Galveston unless for something specific..

The staff at check in was amazing....wish I would have gotten her name😔 She gave us a room with a beautiful ocean and lagoon view....caught clouds waves and sun without being scorched on our balcony!! Could not have made my mini vacay any easier😁😁

We like Surfside and love the location of Ocean village. But we do have concerns

We come to this property about twice a year. We love the location and have seen many changes to the beach over the years. The rooms are O.K and the restaurant much improved. Though I liked it better when we could get a cooked breakfast

I don’t like the bridal suite. The lights on the deck are very bright which means the room is never dark. The blinds are totally inadequate to keep out the lights from the deck. This visit the lights in the bathroom and the bedside lamps kept going up and down. When I used the hair dryer the lights all but went out in the bathroom. On the second evening, the bedside lights and T.V did go completely out for about two minutes. When you call the property you get a menu that does not include the front desk. Are you supposed to go to reservations when calling about a problem in the room? I did tell the office as we left that there was a serious problem with the lights in the bathroom and bedside lamps.

Everyone was so friendly and nice. The beach is so peaceful.

I loved my room. And the balcony. My King size bed was so comfortable. Just like my bed at home. I slept like a baby. It was so nice to have a microwave and a frig in the room. And the greatest of them all, was that my room was facing the beach. It was so spiritual for me.

A real breakfast with orange juice, eggs, bagels, croissants, hash browns. The works. That is about all.

The location is beautiful but the rooms are in need of some updates.

The location is wonderful.

The rooms are in need of a deep clean or perhaps some updates, like fresh coats of paint. The bed was very saggy & overall the room kind of shabby - especially for the price.
