Protaras /Pernera: Protaras is a small tourist village and offers an ideal holiday for families, couples and friends. Its horse-shoe shape has over 250 establishments ranging from restaurants, tavernas, designer clothes shops, jewellery and souvenir shops. This area is called 'The Strip'. The bars and restaurants cater for all tastes and budgets. When dining out, you are spoilt for choice with many good quality venues to choose from: Cypriot, English, Chinese, American, Italian and Fish Bars etc. There is even a McDonald’s & KFC. Many bars offer entertainment including tribute bands, karaoke or live shows and music. It is not uncommon to be able to see , Adele, Rihanna, Rod Stewart, The Blues Brothers, Fire shows and Freddie Mercury all on the same night. Larnaca is a traditional Cypriot town about 45 min drive. It has a picturesque marina and excellent seafood. The Capital Nicosia is about 70 min drive away. It has many historic sites of interest, yet the atmosphere is very cosmopolitan with its stylish cafes and chic boutiques. The Troodos Mountains are 90 min away on the Western side of the island where you will find traditional villages, breathtaking scenery, great walking trails, wineries and skiing in winter. Protaras and Pernera are quieter during Nov - March but great winter temperatures during the day allows you to take longer walks, sit in sun longer and enjoy local company without too many tourists.
