Victoria was lovely in every way and very gracious,curious and on hand if I needed anything.Will stay again.

Our stay was fine however with a bit more attention to details it would have been good.

The property was a nice historic Victorian home. The room was very clean which was greatly appreciated & innkeeper was pleasant.

The room was cold during several portions of the evening/early morning & no additional blanket was in the room. Also I would expect that toiletries like tissues & a better grade of shampoo/conditioner & bath products would be available ( VO5 & a dollar tree bath gel). Hangers please the rack provided for hanging clothes had 2 flocked & 2 mangled dry cleaners wire hangers. The television had the most basic channels & didn’t offer the option to connect to Netflix, after several hours of driving we had hoped to relax & unwind watching tv. However, the most disturbing fact was that the photo copy of my license taken at check-in was not destroyed at the end of our stay. The owner indicated the copies of licenses remained in a secure box and are destroyed annually. Honestly had I known this was a policy I would have stayed elsewhere.

If ever through the area again, would totally book a stay here again.

After staying in hotels previous nights in different cities, I really enjoyed ending my trip staying at the 1895 Washington Hotel. If given the choice, I would always rather experience a stay in a home setting rather than a hotel/motel. This place is great and very close to all the river commercial district too!

Gorgeous home.

We had a mother bird sitting on her nest in the corner of the porch and she chirped all night long.

Did not stay even though prepaid. Ad exaggerated, at least from the outside. Never got inside!

House had a rather isolated feel on a very small lot. Small parking lot & commercial building directly across the street. Overall dimly lit. Maybe it would look better in the day time.

Tried to contact by cell on our way, but message went unanswered. Husband didn't like the feel of the neighborhood. arrived in the early evening, it was dark and raining. The area was rather dreary. Our first issue was with parking..a poorly lit lot across the street or on the street in front of the building. Had to contact manager (owner?) by phone from the stoop. Discussed our issues. She said she would come down when I called back and had unloaded luggage. I did and called her. I was ready to just stay, even though there wasn't a place to eat nearby. She was still upstairs while I was on the stoop (very worn out paint) and it's dark & raining. We had a lot of luggage, golf clubs, etc in our car and husband ultimately decided he didn't feel safe leaving it overnight so we left. Of course, we were informed there would be no refund, so even though we had paid, we were very uncomfortable with the area. Manager never did come downstairs.

Secret getaway

It was amazing. The spa tub was relaxing and so nice and clean. George Washington bed was so comfortable. The PRICE was so affordable. I will be staying there each time I am in town... the front desk staff showed us to our room and even gave us some history about the room we were in. She was amazing and so polite and courteous.

will not go back because was not clean at all , very disappointed. Needs a stall that will clean the inside. it would

location fine, building was old but neat

inside was dirty, bathroom was nasty, has old toilet paper on floor, sink and toilet wasn’t clean. very disgusting, won’t be back.

Overpriced

The pictures.

It was like a bed and breakfast without breakfast. It was overpriced. The overhead fan didn’t work and only two of the eight jets of the tub.

Would have been better if other people were quiet.

We did not opt to have the breakfast. It was an additional charge. The place had a kitchen right outside our room.

We had a lot of noise from people upstairs.

Bed was very comfortable and warm on an extremely cold night. Lovely bathroom updates in a nice historic home.

Very comfortable and enjoyed the company of the proprietors.

The property has been very well restored. The people operating where very friendly and went out of their way to assure our comfort. I truly home cooked breakfast. Will stay again.

Quaint place. Comfortable beds!

Didn’t realize breakfast was an extra charge. Maybe highlight that in ads.

Towels were scratchy. Bathroom vanity drawer had a hair dryer ,good, but there were loose feminine products in there also. Maybe remove stuff like that before each checkin! Also, no cable!

Stay wasn't bad I just felt a little misled and disappointed

Was very clean and nicely furnished. Staff was very polite and accommodating

I was led to believe that breakfast was included with my stay. After I arrived, I found out that it wasn't included. That was the only reason I chose to stay here. Parking is not at all convenient. I had to park across the street in a medical parking lot. The street was a MAJOR thoroughfare. The guests are allowed to park in the available parking outback. It was blocked off Room was also cold. There was a space heater provided but it really didn't help much.
