location was good, 29 mins walk into central Funchal.

we booked a Pemium Double Room . The mattress needs replacing, it was very uncomfortable. One of the double glazed windows you could not see out of. That also needs replacing. The hotel generally needs maintaining.

The indoor pool needed a tidy

Food was average, room was quite outdated, spa facilities not as good as expected (or advertised). Indoor pool could’ve been warmer.

I like the breakfast options fresh eggs, poached,fried omlete were cooked for you. Evening meal buffet had good variety and fresh fish was cooked

I did not like the lighting in the room, decoration in the room were outdated. Shower,bath and basin tap need replacing. The swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna was quite old for a 5star hotel no heated pool provided inside and the jacuzzi was poor

Although a good hotel it didn't have any real atmosphere. The buffet meals were okay but could do with enhancement. The layout of the hotel was strange, built to accommodate the hillside so multiple lifts / stairs to get to the pools etc. Provision of pool towels was poor. You needed to hunt out where they were given out and no drop off / replacement options by the pool. Really it's not a five star hotel - more like a four star. Some of the clients didn't seem to have any manners and the use of knives & forks was alien to them. Maybe rooms are being discounted to attract these people. Location is excellent with very good local busses and ample taxis near by. Would return as the staff are very friendly. It's just some of the guests let the hotel down.

Excellent spacious room with balcony overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Lovely views. The buffet restaurant served very good food with many varieties. Service staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, I would recommend this hotel. In addition to the excellent buffet restaurant, the hotel had two specialised bookable restaurants.

Fantastic location and views to die for. The amount and variety of food was tremendous. Even the most fussiest of eaters would be able to find something they liked.

It's quiet, clean, affordable, friendly staff and the perfect location. We've been going back every opportunity we get.

Buffet restaurant was like a school canteen/shopping mall. lack of atmosphere and character to the hotel. pool area just concrete.

Very clean with excellent sea view room! Food was great with a good variety, also staff were very friendly and helpful. Awesome location.

Only starting for 2 nights was our only problem!

Location was great, main lounge was nice and easy car parking facilities some breakfast staff where very nice to us exactly my kids, the kids park and the pools

Room was quite small, and not to a 5 star spec, marks on walls, bathroom was old and shower fittings came off and had to be repaired, rusty marks on balcony floor, air conditioning also had to be fitted, no drinks in mini fridge to purchase, reception staff worked ok and not made you feel special, very big lack of entertainment, and some days diner service seemed rush, did like that they where pushy to get us to order drinks before we even got set up on the table. Breakfast was bland and always repeated everyday, all coffee in Breakfast was absolutely shocking and disgusting, by far the worse coffee I've ever had. No real maderian spirit thought out the hotel. Never got to try the hot tub as it was broken and out of service. Generally hotel is not being looked after and has alot of wear and tear starting to show.
