Fantastic overnight stay

This is the most delightful and homely guest house I have ever stayed in! I was kindly offered a larger room by the owner Rebecca , due to a cancellation. It was a lovely surprise and had many nice touches in it. So peaceful aswell. I didn't stay for breakfast but could see the choices on the menu catered for vegans and vegetarians too. Always good to know! A lovely location opposite a really nice park and near the beach. Highly recommended.

Everything about Sandsides was perfect, sooo comfy beds excellent choices for Breakfast and Rebecca the hostess with the mostest was so welcoming, nothing was too much trouble for her. Spotlessly clean, just 3 minutes to the prom opposite a lovely park. Parking right outside perfect.

So quiet and peaceful, lovely decor, I would return again.

I needed a quiet night as I was staying for an interview the next day. The lady owner was lovely and welcomed me and I was encouraged to make myself at home. The room was the quietest hotel/guest house room that I have ever stayed in- I didn't hear a thing all night and that is unusual for me! The single room is up a lot of stairs and tucked away at the top and back, probably why I didn't hear any noise. I managed to find parking on the street in front. The whole interior is nicely decorated and I was pleased to be able to use the guest lounge to do some work as there isn't much space in the single room. I had to leave early to attend my interview so I didn't have breakfast but it smelt good as I was leaving! There was a good selection of blankets and the hot water bottle was a nice extra. The bed was comfortable. There was a nice selection on the tea tray and the biscuits were a nice touch.

There isn't any way round it due to where it is in the house but the bathroom is separate but on the same private floor as the bedroom so still private. It wasn't a major issue but I did worry that I would lock myself out of the room each time I went to the bathroom! The shower pressure wasn't the strongest (but still warm and useable), but that is my only downside really, I enjoyed everything else about my stay and would definitely return.

Perfect for what I needed. Would stay there again.

Lovely house, near the sea and the theatre (which was why I was there). Friendly welcome. Didn't have breakfast but I'm sure it would have been good!

Outstanding experience

The host had gone out of their way to address all the tiny details that take a stay from being a nice place to ‘bed and breakfast’ to a home away from home. The beds were comfy, the breakfast delicious and thoughtful touches like extra hot water bottles or easy pour kettles just added extra layers of polish to the experience. They were friendly, accommodating, kind and professional. I couldn’t recommend Sandsides more - only to say I will not only be returning but will recommend it to everyone I know.

A wonderful place to stay for a short break in Whitley Bay.

Cosy and homely with a warm welcome. Tastefully decorated with lots of extra touches in the rooms. We liked the great choice at breakfast and the space available for guests to use. Nothing too much trouble.

Lots of little thoughtful extras, much appreciated and very welcoming eg fresh milk, tissues, access to a bath and lounge, bottled water.

Just a minor thing, I would like a brighter light or a lit mirror for doing hair/make-up. Will definitely come again and stay longer

Rebecca was super friendly, very welcoming and nothing seemed too much bother. Enjoyed a lovely soak in the huge warm bath. She was happy to provide a vegan breakfast at an early hour. Highly recommended

Highly recommended Guest House.

I thought this was a fabulous place to stay. The Guest House has been beautifully restored by the present owner.. There is a very nice lounge for guests to use and the rooms are very comfortable and clean. Very nice breakfast provided. Its has a great situation near the beach

The only thing I can think of to dislike was the pigeon droppings that fell on my car!

A warm and cosy place with lovely hosts and a great breakfast to start the day after great sleep!

A very warm welcome upon arrival with a quick tour of their lovely place. I was in the single room at the top with my own bathroom very close across the stairs so had great privacy and quiet to get ready to go out and meet up with my friends staying nearby. The room had a tray with a kettle, tea and coffee and other drinks and a little pot of chocolate cookies! The breakfast was amazing - I had a full English breakfast both mornings of my stay. There were also lots of options of fruit, preserves and home made banana and cinnamon cake which was fantastic with the cafetiere coffee and fruit juices. The room had a desk where I could put my laptop too and a TV with remote (although I didn't use these). There was also a little cupboard with a key I could store my luggage as the room is quite small but comfortable enough to sleep, get changed etc.

Everything was fine. The keys were quite bulky to carry but I removed the key fob and they then fitted in my wallet to take with me. This was really not a big problem of course and I put it back before handing them back :)

Sandside's is an exceptional B&B in a fantastic location

Sandsides is a beautiful little place. Very cool modern decor and super clean and tidy. The location is perfect, being a stones throw from both the sea front and the town centre.
