I would NOT recommend this hotel.
Our room overlooked an outdoor restaurant which meant we could never have our window open unless we wanted people looking into our room. In the evenings, the restaurant would close up around 11:00 pm and throw wine bottles into bags which were extremely loud.
My partner and I were each given 1 large towel and 1 small towel. The hotel did not replace these towels however they did have someone come to make the beds each morning.
Our room was connected to its own water heater which ran out of hot water after one shower. There were a lot of cold showers during out stay. The shower door was off of the hinge which made water pour all over the floor from the shower.
Due to a tornado in Milan, our entire day on the train system was delayed. I notified the host early in the morning that we would arrive late for check-in. They said that check-in was from 12:00-4:00 and if I arrived from 4:00-5:01 I would have to pay €100 cash. They explained if I arrived after 5:00. I would lose my reservation completely. Because of this, I had to book another hotel on top of already paying to be there for missing the check in time by 2 hours due to weather.
When we arrived the following day for check in, the woman running the hotel brought us into her office and said we needed to pay for our stay. We had thought this was already done through booking.com (our mistake) when we said that we thought it was already paid for, she took the room keys from us and said she was calling the police. It all worked out in the end but dealing with her was quite an unpleasant experience for us both and began our vacation on a very uneasy start.

Hillary was lovely and super helpful!
the location was fantastic, right in the beach, close to the train station and the old town.
The space was small but we were only there at night so it was fine for 2 nights.
The shower leaked.

The room was really beautiful and the view directly at the ocean was stunning! The personal was kind and lovely throughout the whole stay. For a couple, the hotel had the perfect ambiente.
The location of the hotel was great but if you are a light-sleeper maybe not the best choice because it can get a little bit loud early in the morning or at night. Also if you want a luxurious bathroom the hotel might not fit for you. But for us it was great and we would come again!

The location of the property is fantastic- the best part about the place!
The staff (I think she might've been the owner) are inhospitable and rude. Prior to arriving at the hotel, I called to discuss check in details and timing and after being told I must only communicate with Booking, I was hung up on. Upon arrival we asked a simple question and were responded with a robotic reply about reading all of the policies on Bookings website.
The amenities that come with the room are at a bare minimum- no hand towels or shower mat towels. We were only given two “towels” per person and one of them was essentially a cloth napkin. The bed is also very firm- which I normally prefer, but this was extreme.

Basic but clean room + bathroom, however it is the location and view that make this hotel so amazing , and with it !!
There is no air conditioning.

the location is amazing! steps away from the beach and down the street from the train station
everything was wonderful!

View, location to beaches was prime.
It may serve persons well to not take the King corner room with 2 vaulted windows, due to the noise from restaurant and train. Also, with no air conditioning, it makes the stay more difficult.

Honestly the best place to see the Cinque Terre from. As a solo traveler it made my stay so much more comfortable and I felt very safe. Best location in Monterosso in my opinion. Staff are exceptional and very kind and welcoming.
Train station two minutes away and a restaurant right beside you. Couldn't have asked for better.
The rooms are quite big and bright.
The restaurant outside was open late so it was a little noisy at times but that's about it.

It is so central. A 2 minute walk from the train and on the beach front. We booked not really knowing but couldn’t have gotten a better location.

The lady at the front desk is extra kind and helpful. The place is located in front of the beach. It is also 1 street away from the train station. And the city center is at a walking distance. I def recommend.

location and staff were brilliant
wifi was not the best at all times. At little noisy sometimes but we were advised of this and made the Devon knowing this…given location the trade of is worth it 100%

Location is perfect! In front of the sea, you go sleep and wake up everyday with the sound of the waves. It is also close to the train station if you want to visit the other beaches.

The sea view. Outstanding!
Bathroom a bit tight.

Amazing location (right by the beach in Monterosso), very helpful and accommodating staff, room with a sea view (you pay extra for it of course) and great restaurants in walking distance.
Given that it is a 1-star facility, the price could have been more affordable.

Amazing location- literally could not be better. A 2-3 min. walk from the train station, a restaurant and gelateria in the same building right below, and a 4 min walk from the side of town with all the restaurants and shops. Owner was helpful with a map and information. Amazing view from the window.
The actual sea was really loud at night, but worth it for the view. Room was perfect size for one person (but they may have larger for couples).

Amazing location for a great price! The room was very cozy and comfortable, and i had an amazing view of the water. I would definitely come back here!
No TV in case I did want to watch television, and the water heater ran out quickly while showering.

Location (near to train station and beach).
Staff very welcoming.
Felt safe as a lone traveller.
No drinks/food available in building.

Pretty view, nice cleaning lady
The reception lady (owner of the hotel?) was one of the unfriendliest and most disrespectful person i’ve ever met. The first days she acted all nice and tried to explain everything in her pretty bad english but when there was a minor misunderstanding at the checkout (also due to her language barrier) about whether Booking.com or she would charge the price for the nights she started freaking out, calling me stupid, told me to turn on my brain and better watch out if i ever wanted to travel again. We had to call Booking.com to clear the situation and since i understand Italian (which she didn’t know), i heard her talk really bad about me and saying ‘i didn’t want to pay’ although Booking.com had my credit card information, my name and any other possible information on my person - so it was TOTALLY clear that she would finally get her money. She kept talking to me in her arrogant voice until i left the room crying - her last comment being ‘just give me back the keys when you’re finished’. Travelling alone as a young female will often have you face difficulties but this lady really was one of my worst travel experiences so far. Would definitely not recommend.

The hotel has an excellent location, very close to the train station and directly at sea. The facilities were impeccably clean and comfortable. Hilary was kind and helpful. But the real hit was the incredible sea view and sleeping with the sound of the waves. Great hotel, had a wonderful time there!
Everything was fine; no complaints.

First of all, the view from our room was amazing. The location was perfect, beachfront, near to the train station,to the restaurants and to the village center. Secondly and most importantly is that Ms. Hilary was really helpful, really welcoming and caring. She did everything to make our stay better. Thirdly, the room was daily cleaned. We will definitely come back!!
Nothing.

We loved the location of Hotel Agavi! It was right on the pedestrian walkway and directly across from the beach. We had a corner room, so we had a cross breeze, which was super helpful when we came back from exploring Cinque Terre (we hiked the 3 miles to Verzanna in July— super sunny and hot!). The prices were reasonable and Hilary was super friendly!
We read there was Air Con in each room— there is not! Only a fan and special shutters to keep the room cooler. We were disappointed that the hotel did not have beach access and there are only 2 free access points to the beach in Monterosso al Mare or pay for a chair/umbrella (get there early).

Location and view
The hotel location is awesome. Facilities were also fine but not worth the price. The main problem is the lady in the reception. She was so short tempered and started shouting for no reason. I don't think she was even normal. This completely ruined our experience. So if u want a stay with average facility in a good location but doesn't mind the staff shouting and ill-treating you then this hotel will be fine.

There was nothing we liked at the hotel
THIS HOTEL IS A NO GO, BEWARE! LOOKS LIKE A HOSPITAL INSIDE. THERE IS NO NORMAL FURNITURE INSIDE, A SHELF OR ANYTHING. ROOMS ARE DECADENT. YOU NEED TO LEAVE AT 10AM FOR CHECKOUT AND CANNOT LEAVE YOU LUGGAGE. HOTEL SERVICE/RECEPTION IS RUDE. BEDS ARE SUPER UNCOMFORTABLE. STELLAR PRICE PER NIGHT FOR WHAT THEY OFFER, A HOSTEL WOULD PROBABLY HAVE BEEN BETTER. A PITY TO HAVE SUCH A DECADENT HOTEL IN THE MIDDLE OF MONTEROSSO.
