Nice hotel ;big rooms, quality sheets, comfy beds, amazing view. Good pool, nice restaurant for breakfast, great staff. Very clean. Plenty of hot water and good AC. Fridge in room, daily housekeeping and free bottled water.

If you want to go to zicatela or the punta it is a little far. Good location for the Centro and rinconada

The location was good, easily accessible to walk to different areas if you’re willing to walk. The rooms were clean, the A/C worked well to keep the room cool, the dining area was nice, priced affordable. Our stay was nice.

Could’ve used 2 more bath towels in the room, only had 2 because in a humid climate, taking 2-3 showers a day is possible (due to activities) and using a towel once it stays damp/wet. Paying extra for a fridge wasn’t ideal but something we needed for drinks/food we bought. A bed larger than what seemed like a double would be nicer/bigger for a couple. Unfortunately the bass music/noise from a club or maybe it was a house off in the distance was obnoxious until 4am one of the nights. The sound carried to our room which faced towards Playa Principal, but that’s not the fault of Hotel Barlovento.

The value is ok for the price, the rooms are large and clean, some with great views over Puerto Escondido. The pool is nice.

The hotel is quite old and needs refurbishment.

I was traveling alone, yet they still gave me a huge 5 bed room with beautiful ocean views! Thank you! :) The restaurant and pool are also a nice bonus. Walkable to all the main beaches.

It is quite high up on the hill so it can be quite a mission walking back up after a long day. None of the staff speak any english, so be prepared!

It's situated in the neighborhood where there are many curved streets, difficult to find, especially after dark.

- be aware that this is mainly a family destination. lots of kids and noise around the pool. we avoided the pool therefore because it’s just too hectic. - other guests were partying at the pool, staff didn’t react - there was a cooler truck parked on the premises while we where there that was running the whole - otherwise peaceful - night

Breakfast was great they do have great fruit options and fresh pressed juices or smoothies. Also all the traditional dishes. Everything was great since the beginning, and it’s a good location.

The beds could be better. Very very hard. No luggage stands in room. No place to leave your suitcase open for regular easy access. This could be fixed very easily with collapsible luggage stands that are standard in many hotels

The food was good, waitstaff very nice and friendly. Gentlemen who helped us to our room was very nice and friendly.

Our check-in, as an English speaker, was not good because the women working didn't want to take the time away from her personal phone call to be helpful. In fact she kept insisting we were at the wrong place and wouldn't even try to look up our reservation. She was very, very rude. The room condition was disappointing compared to the photos on-line, beds were very hard and the chemical smell from I assume bug treatment was overwhelming. We were expecting a much nicer room.

The staff was very nice. The rooms are great for what you pay. We stayed as a family with a toddler it is very easy to excess with parking. Mango trees are around the parking which was a great entertainment for our little one. Rooms are nice. Cleaning service was great we got fresh towels every day and soap replaced. The beaches are close by so with the car it was just a jump

The ac was loud it’s outside on the terrace so if someday is using it indoors it gets very loud but you can get used to it

The location, the property maintenance, the attention to detail, all are good.

Wifi in my room was weak.
