About this house rental
The Hale O’he (Bamboo House) is twenty feet from an intimate white sand beach. All levels have lanais which invite you to relax and enjoy our beautiful Hawaiian sunsets. The kitchen and dining areas are open and spacious. The home sleeps six and has two bedrooms and three full baths, laundry facilities, and a fully equipped kitchen. One King, two Twins in upstairs guest bedroom and two day beds in corner of living room. Twin beds in the guest bedroom upstairs can be converted to a King for an additional $35 and notice required prior to arrival. A/C in bedrooms and living room as of May 2023! “A Smith-Waterhouse Beach Home” This home is located on property that has been in the family since 1850. Learn about this missionary-doctor family history in the book, “100 Years of Healing” by Evelyn Cook. (Receptions, Luau's and Parties of any kind are strictly prohibited) This property includes beach chairs, beach towels, a cooler and umbrella. Please feel free to call us if any of these items are missing during your stay. *Reservation Fee of $150.00 is non-refundable upon cancellation. Please see guest rental agreement for all reservation requirements/conditions. *For the latest travel guidelines to Kauai please contact our reservation team for assistance! This was our 10th or 11th stay. We come to relax and enjoy the sun and water. We live in Colorado, and we left a lot of very cold weather there. We have seen Hale Ohe' be well maintained and cared for all these years. It is just a delightful place to be. The beach is so beautiful, and the sunsets are beyond compare. This little house has everything for a quiet restful experience.

We loved this home! The floor plan was perfect for us. (Two couples)The waves and oceanfront beach access were undeniably the best assets. Turtles on the beach daily and close to restaurants and shopping. The public beach ( directly in front of the house) was very busy but we got our beach chairs out first thing to guarantee a spot right near the home. Great experience!

Flakes fell off the ceiling in the 2nd bedroom the whole time we were there. It got in my hair at night, it was all over the comforter and the floor.
The toilet paper holders are not very sturdy. The showers could use updating.
The location was beautiful and stunning. We loved the views.

Perfect location for our family which included a 4 year old and an 8 year old! Can't get any closer to the beach and the ocean, with beautiful sunsets as an added bonus. Loved the property. Would stay again, and again and again.....

We arrived in the evening, so it was particularly exciting to wake up and see the ocean, that we heard, and take it all in. Several rainbows each day.The house was immaculate and kitchen well appointed.The office staff jumped right on small issue and had someone there to fix it within an hour. We will definitely be back!

Great Stay. Great location, very clean, well stocked kitchen, very efficient and responsive rental company staff. Beach area is well suited for young children (shallow) but beautiful. We opened up all windows for the nice sounds of the surf all night. Wonderful week.

Cannot get any closer to the beach than this! Location, location, location! Also, super responsive with communication. Cannot go wrong with rental.
One small caveat- there is a walkway directly beside house. Resulted in vehicles parking around the property and people walking in and out. (Small annoyance compared to everything else)

The property description is totally accurate. Walking distance to many shops and restaurants. The property was clean and well stocked. We found the two weeks stay with no need for any customer service. Everything functioned and all of our needs were met from the beginning. We have recommended Garden island Rentals and friends and family have used them. The design of the house is perfect with all rooms facing the beach.

This property was amazing, as advertised! A perfect location, right on the beach. The house was beautiful, with spacious bedrooms, a great kitchen and living space downstairs with several sliding doors that open up straight onto the beautiful deck for viewing gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. We'd definitely stay here again!

Baby Beach Bliss
We had a fabulous time at Hale Ohe right on Baby Beach. The house was immaculate and well stocked, we ate nearly all our meals on the beautiful porch overlooking the ocean, and it was close to Poipu but away from all the hotel action. Perfect for our family of 4 with 2 teenagers, but would suit a family including ALL ages. YES - we did see babies on the beach every day !! 💜

We have stayed at Hale Ohe 4 times and absolutely love the location and the house is perfect....excellent facilities for couples as it has two separate master bedrooms on different levels.....privacy... and it is well equipped with all you need to enjoy the house and the beach. Also, walking distance to shipping mall with terrific restaurants and other lovely shops. A great area for walking, as well.

We loved staying at Hale Ohe. It was so perfect for our family of 6. The location can not be beat. It is right on Baby Beach. The mornings offer a empty beach which is so peaceful. The house has plenty of room and everything you could need. It was very humid and hot while we were there but with the windows open it wasn't too bad during the day. Night time was cool and they have fans if you need them. Would definitely stay here again!

2 minor inconveniences -1.I used the supplied WD-40 to get the sliding screen to the lanai to operate properly. The maintenance people should have done it. 2. A west facing lanai screen is needed( their used to be one.)The master bedroom was almost perfect- really good bed, but lamps too dim to read -sliding screen to upper lanai completely inoperable( needs WD-40). Bathrooms good -
Kitchen fine - could outside trashcan be locked? others put some disgusting trash in it. Downstairs lamps very dim.
Staff has always been helpful.
Another PLUS shops and restaurants at Kukuiula are walking distance - lots of Very Good restaurants.

Hale Ohe provided the perfect getaway. The home is well appointed, perfectly situation, right in the middle of Baby Beach. The sound of crashing ocean waves lull you to sleep each night with three different patios to experience the sights and sounds of the Pacific in all its glory. Garden Island Rentals is the most professional management company I've ever dealt with. One final observation which is not a slight on the home but Baby Beach is extremely rocky and not anywhere close to being a good swimming beach but there are several in the area worth the short drive.

Perfect Getaway
Hale Ohe provided the perfect getaway. The home is well appointed, perfectly situation, right in the middle of Baby Beach. Loved the location. Right on Baby’s Beach as our front yard. Could paddle board , snorkel , swim or just lay in the sand at this pristine location. Having been to Kauai many times, this is the best location we have had and has raised the bar for what to expect on future visits. Walkable to the Beach House restaurant and the Kukuiula shops and restaurants add to the benefits of the location. Will definitely be our preferred location for future visits.

Six of us spent 12 very relaxing, fun days here. The location can't be beat, especially if you have children with you -- you are literally on the beach. We spent a lot of time dining on the deck, staring at the ocean, spying sealife. Baby Beach is aptly named, perfect for small children, and we did see a lot of sealife, including turtles, as we snorkeled along the rocks (the snorkeling area next to the Beach House restaurant an easy few blocks away is even better!). For easy access swimming, you'll want to go elsewhere. The house is well stocked, bed are very comfortable. Better kitchen knives would be a big plus. It does sleep 6, but 6 adults/older teens would be difficult privacy wise. Really, you rent this place for the location and we were very, very happy with our stay.
