Excellent penthouse apartment with stunning views...Nyara was an excellent host before and during our stay. Very spacious and clean. Going back next year.

The apartment is as advertised with stunning views. It’s is very well equipped (and should now include a knife sharpener which will be a godsend for people like us who like to prepare simple meals and salads to eat on the amazing balcony). The apartment is very well positioned if you don’t mind walking. A bus stop into Funchal is a 5 minute walk away and a large supermarket an easy 15 minute walk. It’s worth stating that buses are excellent and we travelled quite extensively to town and several levada walks efficiently and cheaply. Nyara couldn’t have been more helpful - besides being lovely, she has an excellent knowledge of the area, restaurants and bus routes. She also arranged very economical and efficient transportation to and from the airport. Her husband Miguel, provides the best jeep tours on the island and I strongly recommend you book a couple of tours. Besides seeing parts of the island most don’t see, they are great fun. We particularly recommend the western tour - this was a real highlight of our 2 week stay. We will definitely be back. Highly recommended.

We loved the appartment, especally the balkony. The breakfast SAS eaten there. The Sun først came at 10 ocllck, so it was a little cold, but the wiew was lovely. We rent A car - too much stairs for us. We have ben told about good restaurens by the host Niara, and We love the food here. The kitchen is ok if you want to male your food at home. We enjoyed the beach, and had good swims, the pool is A little bit cold in january.

Our family of 7 greatly enjoyed staying at Madeira. The natural scenes while exploring unbeatable. The apartment and penthouse are spacious and had everything we needed. It was clean, spacious and nicely furnished and had everything we needed. The two bathrooms in the penthouse were quite big and worked well for us. We very much enjoyed the jeep-tours. Miguel is a professional driver who drove us safely across the island.

This is a lovely spacious apartment on the top (8th) floor of a smart block overlooking Praia Formosa beach, which is right at the western end of the hotel district. It's very clean, comfortable and well appointed, with everything you need including good Wi-Fi and satellite TV with some English/American channels. Fabulous private balcony which is a real suntrap, with sunbeds, table and chairs, plus a rooftop terrace as well. Front double bedroom (with en suite) opens on to the balcony; back twin bedroom has no view as the windows face the corridor, but it's very peaceful. Beds were very comfortable. The apartments share a good sized swimming pool, although the water was pretty cool in November. Niara was very helpful and met us on arrival. The location of the apartment suited us as we wanted to be away from the crowds. The only disadvantage of the location is that the coastal footpath heading towards Funchal is currently closed near the apartment block where it goes through a tunnel round the cliffs; consequently if you want to walk or catch a local bus into Funchal you have to climb a long flight of steps up to the main road. However there are a number of bars and restaurants by the beach which is only a few minutes walk from the apartment, and we had some good meals there. We also found an excellent Indian restaurant (Sabors) on the way into town which I can highly recommend. We used the Aerobus service to get to the airport, as it picks up right outside the apartment block (fare 5 euros). Overall we had a great time and will hopefully return again.

We loved the location of the apartment being right on the sea front and with access to a pool too. The balconies were also a great space and south facing but with awnings for shade. The walkway up to the main town has just been destroyed by weather so it was a longer walk to the main centre but there are good restaurants close by. We had a car and it was a good base for exploring. We'd come again

We have just come home from a great holiday in Portugal which started in beautiful Madeira in this wonderful apartment with great views. The apartment is very spacious and offers more than enough space for a family of four. It is exactly like the description and photos on the site. Niara is an excellent host; she organised a taxi from and to the airport for us, shared a lot of information about Madeira and recommended a couple of very nice restaurants. One of the highlights for us was the jeep tour with Miguel; a really great tour on which he took us to a lot of beautiful places where you would normally not come and told us a lot about Madeira. He also got us on board a sailing trip to Faja dos Padres during which we saw dolphins and turtles in the morning, had a great lunch and swim and sailed back in the late afternoon. We all really enjoyed our week in Madeira in this beautiful apartment mainly due to Niara's and Miguel's excellent care and look forward to going back some day!

Lovely location and apartment. Everything we needed in the apartment. Naira was very attentive and nothing was too much trouble for her. Definitely will be returning soon!

We arrived at the airport to be met by a taxi, arranged by the apartment manager Niara, and were whisked off to the apartment where Niara met us and showed us around. The apartment is spacious and light with everything you could possibly need from a bottle opener to a dishwasher to a washing machine to a wonderful rooftop terrace. Niara was so informative, giving us details about the restaurants, shopping and transport. She even provided us with a selection of food items (coffee, milk etc) as we arrived late and it was much appreciated. Nothing was too much trouble for her. We also booked a jeep tour with her husband, Miguel, which was excellent - not to be missed!!!! Great fun travelling in an old jeep (sometimes off-road) and giving us the chance to see parts of Madeira that the organised bus tours never show you. We stopped at a couple of villages where we sampled the traditional Poncha - a mix of lemon, honey and rum - very good but deceptively strong. The only down side of the location is that the beach path from the apartment to the tunnel, which connects you to the main shopping centre, had been washed away by storms in the winter and the temporary path is difficult to negotiate over cobbles. There is a staircase opposite the apartment building which takes you to the upper level though - quite a climb if you're getting on in years but Taxis are readily available though and cost anything between €5/10 depending on distance within Funchal. This is an ideal location if you want to be away from the noise and bustle of the hotels and bars and where the sound of the waves lull you to sleep every night - who could ask for more?

We came to Madeira with 22 adults and children and all hired different apartments in the block. We hired this lovely and very spacious apartment with fabulous views and easy access to a wealth of different activities. We only stayed for 6 days and in that time we managed to fit in: local levada walks - stunning especially if you are green fingered and love nature, go carting for the boys, deep sea fishing for the boys, cable car and basket rides, markets and shopping for the girls, an excellent jeep tour by Miguel, including the glass floor look out from the rocks, lovely meals out at lunchtime and in the evening - there is a hugh choice of restaurants, swimming in the sea and lovely pool, Poncha - you must visit to try this! My only words of caution are Madeira is very steep and you can discover a lot on foot so bring comfortable shoes and enjoy the spectacular island. The local shops are close by but up a very steep staircase. Niara was very very helpful and quick to respond to all our needs. A great week in Madeira.

We arrived in the dark so awoke the next morning to spectacular views of ocean and cliffs. There isn't one thing I can say I appreciated more than another; we loved the whole experience! -Beach location, with seawall walks for kilometers in both directions -Sound of the gentle waves and not-so-gentle waves at the foot of our building -Privacy of the large balcony -Roof balcony -Lovely views, really spectacular views -Spaciousness of the apartment, including both bedrooms and both bathrooms -Cleanliness and comfort -Full kitchen and all equipment -Pool area, clean and comfortable -Helpfulness and availability of Niara who is in touch as much as we needed her to be. -Breakfast supplies, including coffee, for our first morning. That was so much appreciated! -Jeep tour with Niara's husband (I recommend this without hesitation! Absolutely thrilling! Who needs theme parks?) -Lots of parking available for our rental car -Numerous restaurants to choose from, within walking distance -Security of the building, with someone at the lobby desk at all times I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this apartment (or any other in this building that Niara rents out) for a great base to explore the beautiful island of Madeira from.

The apartment was exactly like the description. Niara organised a taxi to pick us up at the airport and met us when we arrived at the apartment . She showed us round and explained various things to us. Niara then explained about buses and their costs also taxis supermarkets etc which was very useful as we hadn't visited Madeira before. We ate in several of the restaurants which Niara recommended. All were excellent. The highlight of our week was the day spent with Miguel and his jeep. It was fantastic. We went to the eastern part of the island which had fantastic views sometimes we went off road - very exciting. We did a short levada walk, had an excellent lunch and spent 8 plus hours way off the beaten track and away from the usual "tourist trail" Miguel is so enthusiastic about the island and also so knowledgeable he made the day very interesting and lots of fun. Both Niara and Miguel love Madeira and they want their guests to enjoy and love Madeira too. We would certainly return there and would look forward to staying in the apartment again and meeting up with both Niara and Miguel.

The apartment is quiet and comfortable with the most amazing sea views. There is everything you need to self cater or take Niara’s recommendations for nearby restaurants - especially ‘The Beer Garden’ Amazing food and lovely people. Try the Picadinho and Poncha for a perfect night! Another absolute must is a ‘Miguel Jeep Tour’!! Go for the full day tour and be prepared for a day of fun and laughter! Miguel is a superb tour guide! Niara was so welcoming and helpful and always responded immediately to emails and messages. It made everything so easy and stress free. Niara and Miguel are the perfect hosts. 5 Star Holiday! We can’t wait to return! Julia, Liz and Sarah.

We have stayed in this apartment block 5 times now and this is our favourite. Car parking is easy and there are good places to eat nearby.

We had stayed in one of Niara's apartments previously. We enjoy staying in different places, so I spent ages researching the internet for somewhere suitable. In the end, I re-contacted Niara and the apartment we chose turned out to be exactly what we wanted: - walking distance to shops and a variety of restaurants - well-equipped apartment, including baths - very pleasant seafront walks in both directions - balcony and roof area for relaxing and looking out to sea (glad we packed the binoculars!) We knew we wanted to explore Madeira, so we had pre-booked a Jeep Tour with Niara's husband, Miguel. We enjoyed it so much, we went on a second trip, to a different part of the Island, later in our holiday. Very informative, personal, great fun and you get to see and experience the parts of Madeira that many other tourists never reach! Next time we look at going to Madeira, I won't bother trawling the internet, I'll be back in touch with Niara for accommodation and Miguel for some sight seeing! Also, both are very efficient at responding very quickly when it came to making our holiday arrangements. Highly recommmended!

Everything was as described. Location was perfect. Incredible views from the balcony watching the sunset each evening. Very quiet (except the sound of the waves!!) Close to many restaurants. About 20 mins walk to shopping centre with large supermarket (can get taxi back if you don't want to walk back). Bus #2 bus stop is about 5 mins walk , which takes you into Funchal. It was great to have direct access to the beach / boardwalk. 3 great cafes along the beach, perfect place for dinner or afternoon drink. Sandy beach (black sand) about 5 minutes walk. Being along the boardwalk, you can walk to the nearby fishing village Camara de Lobos (about 30 mins walk). One day we actually walked into Funchal (allow 1-1.5 hours with sightseeing stops along the way - took bus back). Niara was very good communicating beforehand and during our stay via email or whatsapp. We did the jeep tour with Niaras husband, Miguel, which was fantastic, He took us along the north west of the island. Our kids (15 & 17) loved it, and so did we. Niara also organized a taxi to pick us up and return us to the airport, that was much easier, not knowing where to go. Would highly recommend the apartment for a stay on Madeira Island....and Miguels jeep tours!
