Jiang Garden is a quiet getaway in the valley adjacent to the main Hill Station village of Yucun. This gives visitors the best of both worlds. You escape the crowdedness of Yucun, but can reach it easily on the readily available yellow or red E-scooters accessible by scanning a QR Code using the ubiquitous We Chat. This allowed us to zoom from village to village quite easily without being trapped in the busy central town. Jiang Garden boasted a typical Chinese breakfast each morning (conjee, eggs, dumplings). You can also have dinner there. Our first dinner had so many dishes (shrimp, pork, chicken soup, and 3 vegetable dishes). All were tasty, but it was too much food. Later in our stay, the kind hostess and cook prepped a vegetarian meal based on dishes we ordered. It was tasty. This is one benefit of making sure at least one of your travelers can speak some functional Mandarin. No matter what you eat at Jiang Garden, it is fresh. We opted to eat outdoors, rather than in the dining room. The deck offers views of a bamboo forest while overlooking the garden. Our room was lovely. It was clean, spacious, well lit (naturally and with lamps), and comfortable. The balcony also boasted nice views of nearby mountains. Other amenities available were a karaoke room in the basement (great space for a group party), clean pool with warm afternoon water, and a hot tub. I would stay here again.

The amount of food served for dinner was overwhelming. This left us feeling wasteful.

Everything was extremely clean, and the hosts were SO helpful and friendly. No English spoken but even minimal Chinese or a translator would be enough to make things go smoothly, I think. The room was really comfortable and the views were great. Super relaxing stay.

Most of the restaurants near the hotel weren’t open (or said they couldn’t serve us), so food options were limited. Maybe we went too early in the season. But, there was lunch/dinner available on-site if you really couldn’t find any other options.

Crib was broken, stairs seemed unsafe. Pool unheated.

The hosts were so great. It was my boyfriends birthday and they helped me organize and arrange the service to decorate our room as a surprise. The 老板 is also an amazing chef serving us the best local food for dinner we had the whole trip.

The staff were so friendly and helpful even with there being a language barrier. The pool and outside areas where beautiful. We stayed in the duplex apartment. They had carefully thought about children and had catered the room towards them. The swimming pool was a good size with great toys for the children to play with. Would definitely stay here again!

The rooms were large and comfortable. We unfortunately didn't get chance to use the pool or BBQ. Despite the language barrier, the family that run the hotel went out of their way to help us get where we needed to go.
