About this cottage rental
A 1400 sq ft, stone cottage in a stunning location in County Kerry with one acre of grounds leading to the water’s edge, a terrace and private beach. Seal Rock Cottage has panoramic views of the ocean, islands and mountains. Situated on Rossmore Island it is connected to the famous Ring of Kerry by an ancient stone bridge. The interior has been designed by Andrew Burch, the much acclaimed Welsh Interior Desgner aind consists of a sitting room with library and open log fire, a garden room with cast iron stove, a surround sound home entertainment system and stunning views over the water. And a dining area, well equipped luxury kitchen, laundry room and cloakroom. The grounds are sympathetically landscaped retaining many of the existing natural features including a stream, mini-waterfalls, and ocean-side terrace. Voted one of Ireland's top 10 cottages by Alastair Sawday. Sorry but we are not able to accept guests under the age of 18 and no pets Ireland's Riviera: So called because of it's lush semi-tropical vegetation and micro climate. It's perfect location has attracted celebrity interest with the Riverdance founder, Michael Flatley, wishing to purchase a property on the Island. Seal Rock Cottage has been inspected and selected for the latest edition of Alastair Sawday's Special Places. It has also been photographed and selected as the feature property in the magazine Country Homes and Interiors.

A large, very comfortable home in an amazing location overlooking Kenmare Bay. For us, our stay captured the essence of seaside Ireland. I wish we could have stayed here for a month. Highly recommended.

Seal Rock Cottage was absolutely beautiful! The check-in process went smoothly, and everything was very neat and clean for our arrival. Instructions in the guest book helped us with turning on the oven and other appliances to make it an easier stay. We enjoyed coffee by the wood fireplace, meals outside on the terrace, and going down to the waterfront to further enjoy the stunning views. It was a great home to wind down in and to plan our adventures for the day in. It was an ideal location to explore Ireland's peninsulas and all its beauty. :) We would recommend this place to all of our friends and family, and we are so thankful for a wonderful stay!

The home was extremely well appointed - comfortable beds and crisp linens. The kitchen had everything you needed. The honour bar was a very nice touch - made you feel very welcome.

What an amazing 2weeks we had at Seal Rock Cottage! It truly exceeded our expectations!
From the moment we opened the door we knew we had found a gem! The views are absolutely breathtaking, and the cottage is a extremely stylish, cozy and spotless. Having use of a fully stocked kitchen with wonderful appliances were very much appreciated since we did make use of cooking dinners quite often.
Whether we were sitting outside enjoying the ever changing views or sitting inside by the warmth of a fire, we were quick to realize that we will definitely return next year and for another two weeks!
We really enjoyed the privacy, yet the location is easily reached to so many areas that were on our must do list. The owners, Michael and Jane gave us many recommendations for things to check out and were fabulous to work with.

We had two couples reconnecting after many years. This home is beautiful, well equipped and spacious. The property is truly perfect. Lots of land, amazing views and space for relaxation regardless of the weather or season. We visited in the Fall and made great use of the fireplace, drank loads of wine, cooked wonderful meals and enjoyed peace and quiet.
We all highly recommend this home for short or long stays.

I stayed at Seal Rock Cottage for one month and it’s the best thing I ever did for myself. The cottage was beautiful, the location was convenient and the sunsets were amazing. I was able to see much of Ireland as day trips from the cottage - Kenmare, Killarney, Dingle, Waterville, Beara Peninsula, Garnish Island, Valentia Island, the Skelligs and many other places. I took morning walks surrounded by beauty. I saw seals when I paddle boarded. Everything was perfect.

Perfection
This was actually my first experience with VRBO, and I can’t imagine a better experience. The cottage was as clean as can be, instructions were clearly laid out about how all the appliances work, the scenery was beautiful… even the weather cooperated to complete a phenomenal stay! It was so awesome that we only left once to explore the area… we couldn’t imagine any place being better than this!

It is difficult to summarize the time spent at Seal Rock Cottage. I must admit, I am a person who is easily impressed by the finer things that I come across in life, but Seal Rock Cottage was so much more than a simple luxury experience. It was like entering a planned theme experience. But it wasn’t… it was natural… organic. From the moment we turned off N70, and crossed the ancient bridge, the experience unfolded. Through a cow pasture, over a knoll, along a single lane dive, to the gates of Seal Rock. The next four days will remain embossed on my mind till the end. Our stay was in the month of December, not what one would think of as a time to
tour. To the contrary, it was a spectacular time to visit Rossmore Island. Everyday was different… cloudy… sunny… misty… stormy… and so on… and so on. All that was punctuated by tempest coming ashore one the night. We woke to a daybreak of waves crashing on the shoreline, and a wild frothy bay. Showering with a view through a skylight was like being in an action movie. All of that being said, and I haven’t even mentioned the quality of Seal Rock Cottage itself… and I won’t attempt to do so. Think of luxury, comfort, and cozyness against the backdrop of a spectacular natural setting. I could go on and on… but you have to experience it for yourself.

If you want to get away from it all, this is a fantastic place to do it. Whether sparkling in the sunshine or moody mists, it's an extremely comfortable place to unwind. The view never gets old, the house is beautifully furnished and well stocked. Be aware that you will need to get in the car to go anywhere.

Most Perfect Respite
We stayed two months and it could not have been more perfect. The cottage, property and location were everything we expected and much more. Excellent as a base for daily excursions if that is your interest, but don’t miss the beauty and peace of just spending quiet time at the cottage itself. This is a very special place you don’t want to miss. And I highly recommend booking in the off season: we enjoyed so much more without crowds and busses and in many cases nearly had it to ourselves. This micro climate gives you all kinds of weather in one week, even one day and that in itself is sensational and typically Irish, so don’t bother trying to time it just right, just book it and enjoy it. Superb hosts who haves earned their reputation.

Seal Rock Serenity
Seal Rock is even more lovely in real life than the photos. The cottage is luxuriously furnished and infused with light even on an overcast Irish day. The panoramic views of Kenmare Bay never become passé and the absolute quiet is the antidote for whatever may be ailing you.

Lovely Stay at Seal Rock Cottage
Our stay at Seal Rock Cottage was (too) short, but perfect. We loved the cottage and the serene location. The views leading to the cottage - and at the cottage - were incredible. The owners were very responsive to our inquiries prior to our arrival, and check-in was seamless. The information manual for guests was especially helpful and complete - with both useful household information, as well as suggestions for activities, eateries, and lovely drives along the Ring of Kerry. We highly recommend Seal Rock Cottage!

Co. Kerry home on the sea
Very remote but nice and quiet for those who want to be well away from it all. Best & most comfortable beds in Ireland! Pretty view of the sea with lovely landscaping as foreground.
Jane was immediately responsive to any questions. Do follow her directions to Seal Rock Cottage which are excellent.

Beautiful and Remote
A Beautiful home in a beautiful location. It is remote and not the easiest location to find but the owners directions were very helpful and this is my second visit to this home so I would obviously come back again. If you want to be in a city center this is not the place for you but if you don’t mind a short drive you will be in Kenmare in 20 minutes where there are some really wonderful restaurants for foodies and the people are lovely! The Bay views from this home are nothing short of amazing and a brisk walk up the lane to the main road provides your morning exercise and even more stunning views. The home is absolutely beautiful and the beds are luxurious!

Stunningly Beautiful Location
I cannot speak highly enough about the setting of Seal Rock Cottage. It was peaceful, beautiful, and such a special place to call "home" on our vacation to County Kerry.
The cottage itself was quite comfortable and well equipped. We didn't have any trouble locating it and used it as a launching pad to explore other areas of the county. It was about 20 minutes away from the charming village of Kenmare which had everything we needed if we felt like going out.
Jane and Michael made our stay as seamless and easy as possible and were excellent hosts. My only suggestion would be to have the cottage a bit cleaner upon arrival. We used the kitchen and thought it could have been a bit cleaner and the floors could have used an extra sweeping by the curtains in the family room but overall we were quite pleased and I would very highly recommend this place to anyone desiring a relaxed vacation in one of the most beautiful places you can find. I am very happy we chose Seal Rock for our holiday stay.

Wonderful Home with Stunning Views
This is a great property. The house is decorated so nice. Spacious and well thought out. The views are amazing. The wifi was great. The owner is wonderful to deal with and got back to us straight away with questions. We travel a lot and stay at lots of homes and this is in our top 5. Stunning! Not to be missed!

Extremely romantic place
We (my fiancée and myself) came to the cottage on Friday night. It was quite cold these days (below 0 Celsius), but heating worked very well + we could make use of the amazing fireplace! The house is just perfect if you like to be at the end of world. House is indeed decorated in very professional way which emphasised the cosy and magical atmosphere of the place. Communication with the owners was very good and getting to the site not as difficult as it could look like. We wish to go there again!
